Good Disposables?

I just ordered a 510 with two flavors of juice, but it won't be here until tomorrow or Monday. I was going to pick it up, but the seller is farther than I thought, so I'm waiting for the mail.

The thing is, my head is all set. I told my kids that today was the last day I smoke a Winston. I have more smokes, and could hold out with cancer sticks until Monday, but I don't want to.

I bought a disposable a few weeks ago, to see if I thought the thing would work. I loved it - I mean, I found myself jonesing for it while I was smoking my coffin nails - but the battery died after about 12 hours.

So to get to the point after all the buildup, I still want to make today my last day for cigarettes. And so, to hold me until tomorrow (or Monday, worst-case), I want to buy a disposable. Problem is, A) I'm going to buy it at a head shop or the mall - I'm not ordering anything online, because what would be the point?, and B) I don't even know if there are brands that don't die right off the bat.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I ought to be looking for? I just need something that will last until tomorrow, or Monday if I have to buy two. I'm half inclined to save my money and just smoke my smokes until the thing gets here, but psychologically, I am geared up and don't want to just throw the whole thing over.

If the only function is to bridge the gap from now till you recieve your order in a couple days, then whatever you get will sufice.

Also, if it's just a copule days, I wouldn't bother wasting money on anything from now till you get your order.

You've been smoking how many years? A couple more days ...well you know the saying...

I heard Q-cig is cheap and relatively good.

On a more personal note, quitting cigs is an intense business, even during the vaping switchover. Many people continue to vape and smoke during those first days, weeks. The pressure and frustration can be bad enough without adding deadlines. For a smoother transition, relax and give yourself a break.

mailman stalking is a common side-effect of vaping, you'll get used to it

Depends on where you are what may be available. I've found that SmokerFriendly shops in my area carry the Ruyan disposable e-cigar (Says "Vegas" on it) for about $20. It "should" last for the weekend, if you can find one (maybe pick up a spare, the taste isn't bad) I've bought the NJoy products from Pilot Truck stops, but I don't think they carry them anymore.
Problem is, there aren't a whole lot of disposables to choose from. If you can post a couple of brands that you have a choice between, you'll probably get some help, but not knowing what you CAN get, it's hard to recommend anything. I could tell you to go get a disposable 510 kit, but if no one in your area sells one, that won't help much.

The first thing you need to do is click on "user cp" in the tool bar and fill in your location, so maybe someone in your area can assist.
I agree that another day or 2 shouldn't make a difference.
If you really want to do it, fashion a battery mod out of things you have available to get you through. Odds are, if you do that you will also run out of juice and still have to wait.

Pilot truck stops still sell the NPRO line and also sell an "EXPRESS" model now, which is cheaper. If you check the NJOY website, they have a lookup for distributers near you.
Best of luck and welcome to the new addiction.

Won't do you a bit of good now but for the future. Like get 1 or 2 for the glove compartment, the office desk, that sort of thing in case you break your regular PV or lose it or the battery dies or … You can also give them to friends interested in trying an ecig. Price is about $10-$15. I've seen bulk packages of 10 Q brand for $80.

The more common brand you can get from quite a few of the suppliers here is the Q brand. Actually comes in 4 flavors although most shops only have the regular american mix/marlboro flavor and occasionally the menthol. 1 battery, 1 charger, 1 atomizer, 3 cartridges. Battery is only guaranteed to recharge 3 times. They're really cheap batteries and sometimes that's all you get, a few charges. Most of the time you'll get more. Some folks have had them last as long as a standard battery. They come in a 510 style which is what most places have and also a m601/8084 (super mini) style that's much harder to find. I believe that model is the J107.

A newer manufacturer called Hello makes a disposable the Hello 10. It is a 510 style. It only comes with a 280mah (same as mega 510) battery and 2 cartridges. Again available in a few flavors but I only seen US shops with USA mix flavor. Pretty much same deal on the batteries. Some recharge lots some don't recharge at all. You can use either the Q style disposable charger or a regular 510 charger. They don't come witha charger. I like the taste of these much more than the Q although that may entirely be just the way Dekang juices vary in flavor from batch to batch and even within a batch.
Someone is currently having a sale on the Hello 10:

Added: These Hello 010 disposables are manual style batteries.

Very good advice, don't look at it as ciggs smoked, but as ciggs not smoked. Helps win the mind game that quitting is.

Also, you'll get to know your mailman very well, will know his route, his schedule, etc.:p

I've seen some that didn't even come with a charger. Make sure it's rechargeable. Some people have reported successfully recharging them dozens of times and others seem to only get it to take a charge 3-4 times.

Hopefully you'll get a good one. Try to get one with a manual battery if that exists. Those are less trouble prone than the automatics.

I was in a Pilot today and NJOY also has a disposable now. $9.99, one piece so it is not rechargeable. 2 cartridges, inner cart is about twice the size of the NPRO cart. I picked one up to see. It has an on off switch(the led turns), and one hole that you can play kind of like a 901 to adjust the flow for a lighter drag. Would do in a pinch.

Away..
Yes, the Pilot highway stores seem to carry some type.
I love disposables just to try to make them reusable. lol and they are cheap compared to a "full" setup.
The non rechargeable ones($10) seem to go for a day(typical)...I had one fail in 15min. Took it apart and recharged the battery and it was fine. We'll teach you that later!

The "Q" 510 as referred to prior here , I purchased a couple from www.rrvaporz.com for $8ea. They do say 3 recharges, come with 3 carts and a USB charger. I have one that past 15 charges now! Even an auto battery not a manual.

Of course, this doesn't do you a lot of good in your situation. Any you can get locally to hold you over is great. Camel snus helps alot. Mint, not full flavor...it tastes like dirt.
Marlboro is making a snus available in certain areas. The craving is more than just the nicotine for many. It may not show till later, but this is a great support group.

Feel free to stop by anytime.

When I started, I did the transition thing....2 weeks of both. I vaped a 510 kit I bought, but still wanted a cig. The more I vaped, the worse the cigs tasted. I started smoking 1/2 then vaping or vice versa. All in that 2 weeks. I had smoked 1 1/2 packs a day for 35+ yrs! I also forced myself to smoke the stale remaining 1/2 hrs later. No fresh ones all the time.

The advice prior is well founded. Think of how many you aren't smoking. Many will vape for months and the analog(cig) crave hits. You smoke one , or try, and it tastes like crap and it passes. Back to vaping. Soon, you don't even think of wanting a cig. Keeping a couple disposables, I do prefer the rechargeable, in the glove box, one at home, one at work......places where you might get caught in the event of a broken main unit. Just don't try to get it all at once. A backup, even a cheap one will get you by.

So, see what you can find local, don't panic, do the best you can do, explain to your kids if you have to that help IS on the way. They'll understand more than you realize.

Another thing to look for is StoneWall or Ariva at the gas station , tobacco shops. Its a nicotine mint type thing. Pretty satisfying, but misses the "hand to mouth" part of the habit though. Still , they can help.
