A couple days ago I went out to a bar and, as usual, ended up giving a short lecture to several curious patrons about electronic cigarettes. A couple asked me where they could get more information. I realized there isn't a good, easy-to-write-on-a-bar-napkin website for that sort of situation. I ended up using a url shortener on Don's Wonderful World of vaping guide and writing that down for them. But as good as Don's guide is, it's a little lengthy for a quick overview, and it doesn't have links to sites that I feel are important.

Since one didn't exist, I made my own: http://good-ecig.info

I wanted to cover the sort of questions that the folks at the bar had about e-cigs, without getting too in-depth or model-specific. My plan is to make up some business cards with the URL and a few e-cig facts. I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions you might have, but keep in mind I'm trying to keep it concise. I don't want it to get overwhelmingly long.

EDIT: Here are the cards. They're set up for Avery 5371 business card pages, but you can print them on plain paper and cut them out yourself if you like: http://good-ecig.info/good-ecig.pdf

great idea! I've book-marked your link and I'd be interested in purchasing some of those cards whenever you get them done. Let us know will you?

I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to list e-cig facts on a business card without making it sound like a cheesy sales pitch. There just isn't enough room to explain things properly. So screw it. Here's my minimalist "If you want to know more, go here" card.

This should print nicely on Avery 5371 business card pages, or you can print it on regular paper and cut them out yourself.

I opened the pdf link and there are no cards to print, just lots of little black and white squares. What's the matter?
Those "squares" are a QR code. It's a 2D barcode which any decent smartphone can scan, and it will take you directly to the site. The page is laid out so that it will print on micro-perforated Avery business card sheets. You print it on the sheet then tear out the cards. If you're cheap (like me), you can just print it out on regular paper and cut out the cards with scissors.

Be my guest. The more people that get the info the better.

Could you translate it so lots of people can just print directly to a standard printer and regular cardstock paper? then I can cut the cards out at FedExKinkos. (I have no idea what smartphones are necessary and all that, I just use the dum cellphones :) )

I think what I meant, is if you can post a pdf file or something that a standard printer can print directly...then I can cut the cards, and then everybody will read them. thanks.

It is a standard PDF file. You can print it with any computer/printer onto any kind of paper you want. I just laid it out so that it would print correctly onto Avery business card pages if you wanted to do it that way. They work just as well printed onto regular old paper and cut out with scissors. In fact, that's what I did myself.

Yesterday I went to a memorial gathering for a very close friend I had known since 3rd grade. Luckily it was one of the heavy-drinking, celebration-of-an-awesome-life kind of memorials, not the weepy, churchy kind. My buddy would have approved.

The nice thing about the event was that I got to drink with a lot of folks who I haven't seen in years. A lot of them still smoke, and they were all very interested in my Bartleby. I ended up giving "the speech" four or five times to various groups, and handed out about a dozen good-ecig.info cards. Hopefully a few of them will come over to the light side. One of the dudes is actually a Maine state representative now, and he says that if the anti-vaping lobby tries to ban ecigs in his state, he'll set them straight. If you live in district 44 in Maine, be sure to vote for Andy O'Brien!
