I have read here on these forums that glass bottles used for storing liquid nicotine should have phenolic cone lined caps. I don't know for sure what will happen if I use anything other than phenolic cone lined caps on liquid nicotine (in a PG or VG base) for long term storage. I have had vegetable/seed oil in a glass bottle with a paper lined cap, and the cap liner broke down within a few months.
pdxtechdoctor: Those bottles on Amazon have a vinyl liners. These are much more expensive -
Amber Glass Bottle 4oz W/Black Phenolic Cone Lined Caps (Boston Round) By Greenals - but they have the right caps.
I don't even know if it is necessary to use phenolic cone lined caps, but plastic covered paper will not do. I also don't know why it is so hard to find a nicotine liquid vendor that carries empty bottles that state they come with phenolic cone lined caps. I imagine the Canada Dry bottles would work, but I don't want to assume I removed the gingerale smell from them, only to discover later that all my stored juice has a hint of gingerale in it. This is the 'Good glass jars?' thread, but the caps are important too. I have read suggestions in other threads about using the fancy caps, but I can't find them for sale by themselves anywhere.
