looking to upgrade from my Ego, and well i was looking at the Lavatube, but again i know nothing about vv or these big suckers that alot of ppl seem to have, so any sugestions ? pics would also be cool if possible thanks

The Lavatube is a nice start if you are wanting to break into the VV market. It is not very expensive and if you decide that you don't care for VV then you are not out a couple hundred $$. After trying a VV some time back that is pretty much all I use now and most all my mods are VV.
i had a 6v or a 5v flashlight mod, was great but only say 1 out of 5 cartos would work on it for some reason

I've been really happy with the notcigs VV PVs. I have an original Infinity and a Buzz Pro. They run 3.5 - 5.5V, maximum 15W, good reliability, easy to use, rugged, true voltage regulation (no tapering as the batteries are discharged).

I agree. Start looking into the buzz pro if you want a rock solid vv device. The pro vari is nice but its heavy and hard to adjust voltage on the fly. With the buzz pro if your juice is tasting to burnt or you want more flavor throat hit all you do is turn a wheel up or down to adjust voltage.

You are correct. I always vape to taste. The wheel actually has 3 markings on it, green, yellow, red. Yellow is midpoint, 4.5V, I forget what the other two are.
If knowing voltage matters to you, then Lavatube is a decent choice within your desired price point; pretty sure NHaler has their version of it for about $80, with two batteries and charger IIRC. For me, I care more about the voltage actually staying where I set it -- the Infinity Pro and Buzz Pro both stay where they are set, right up until it's time to change the batteries (the Provari also does, from what I've heard, a fine PV).
(Buzz Pro and Infinity Pro have the same electronics, and the batteries they use have about the same actual mAh, though they are different form factors.)

I dont think you can go wrong with a lavatube. I got one right before Christmas time and i absolutely love it! It is super easy to use, variable voltage from 3 to 6 volts, its only about $100 for the kit. There is a year warranty through volcano ecigs. I just really can't express how much i love my lavatube! lol
