I brought two mods to Afghanistan on my last deployment...only my mech survived.

Not sure what your MOS is or what you'll be doing or where you'll be going, but if I did it again, I'd bring a whole bunch of cheap egos and mini protanks or aerotanks. Not what you want to hear, but in my experience, the most practical.

Or just start smoking again...10 bucks for a cartoon of Miami's is hard to beat.

:)

Good luck and godspeed brother.

Edit: if you really feel comfortable recommending an mvp to this guy why don't you also show him the mvp thread with countless issues and defects, same with the ipv.

Kind of slamming the wrong poster. I recommended, per Chip based mod, the IPV-D2 - which is considerably different in overall design from any other IPV and closely matches the SX Mini in performance.

* Note - I said nothing about Waterproof, you did. just saying;)

That's why it's a reo. Are you un aware how bottom feeders work?

If I drip it's all about changing flavors so I wouldn't even think about something like that, if I want to use a single flavor I use a RTA... I am allowed my own opinion, what is suitable for me may not be for you, I'm not going to try change your opinion on it, I won't force my ideals down your throat because you, like I do have your own preferences.

Have a super fantastic day I'm outta this post...

Then swap the bottle our for a different flavor. Bottles are like $1. I'm not trying to force anything either. Recommending anything besides a mechanical mod to this guy is horrible idea. You have no idea how many military/goverment people use reos and provaris. It's a standard thing. Does he even know he can't have certain led colors? You can't have a green button light up in the field. I have never heard of a overseas solider using a lighted mod. It's just flat out not safe. I'm just trying to help this guy out is all. Good day.

No offense to what people have recommended but honestly nothing applies to op. You really recommended someone who wants high durability a mvp or ipv? What you want is not heard of at all. And to recomend something based on what your asking for is impossible. There's nothing that will satisfy what you are asking for IMO. What you need to do is get over the idea of a regulated device. They are just flat out unreliable when it comes to what your looking for. My recommendation would be for you to get your self a reo and a rm2 rda. 6ml capacity, 99.9% indestructible and water proof. Uses 1 18650 but you can just get 4 of them and get a mil. Spec battery case to keep them safe. With the right build you could go a whole day with heavy use and not go through more then 2 batteries. Ask any vape vet and they will probably tell you the same thing. Good luck sir

I never recommended an iPV but the older ones are an excellent choice now that you bring it up , i have the iPV2S and iPV2X 60 watt devices and they are as solid and reliable as any mod out there .

Actually nearly as indestructible as the MVP's from my experience , they can be had for under $50.00 now which is about 50% off. The early ones i am talking about , the iPV 4 and up are garbage.

The MVP has 1010 reviews on 101vape alone ALL FIVE STAR.

Might want to re-read post 1
    Mod expectations. ;)

deployment - the act of being sent to serve outside the boarders of ones own country.
    Did Op give specifics?o_O

Anyway, so you are aware I have dozens of Mechanical mods and Generally carry those in extreme or rough conditions............but that is not what the Op asked.

So if I asked for a brand new 500hp car for under 20k... what would you recomend? WHAT HE IS ASKING FOR DOSENT EXIST. When his mvp or ipv breaks down somewhere where he can't get replacment parts shipped or can't find anything and HAS to go back to smoking cigarettes that's on YOU not me. So I can walk away from this and not give a .... knowing I pointed him in the right direction.

I will second the Cloupor mini+ (50w). Get a sleeve for it though. It will fit the standard cloupor mini sleeves, it is only a tad bigger, so the sleeves will be pretty tight. I had the original Mini 30w, but sold it to get this new version. I've dropped the original quite a few times. It's made of stainless steel, so it's pretty tough. sleeve on it helps keep the battery door from comming off. I wouldn't recommend a glassomizer.. maybe a dripper to be extra tough.

I would highly suggest some of you re-acquaint themselves with our rules.

    Forum Rules

And for those claiming some mods are indestructible, there's a huge difference between using a mod in a peace time environment and using one in a war zone that's also environmentally unfriendly.

I would at least attempt the cloupor Mini. They're more durable than most mods, being stainless steel construction, when it drops, I say "oh sh... did the atomizer survive?" Even though it comes with a silicone sleeve, I'd recommend getting another since the default one looks horrible.

but other than that, yes, the cheap ego's are another way to go... and mechanicals.. well, dunno how you'd charge the batteries.. same goes for the ego's. I guess however you can charge a phone, you can charge an ecig. I guess like what you said, it depends on his MOS. Although my son doesn't vape, I'm sure he will have similar problems depending on where he will be deployed. He is currently USMC MOS 1371 Combat engineer, and his two dependents are his Iphone 6 and his Iphone watch.. I'm sure those won't last long if he's deployed away from base.

Well, I only did one hitch and then ran like (self moderated), but I was playing in the sand a lot and I will stick by original suggestion of the MVP with a clearo. Above some one recommended a hand full of egos and some clearo's and I think that is a decent idea except that I would go with VV3's because they have USB charging and are more durable with the riveted heads.

I have owned a Mini+ for a few months now and I love it and use it more than my mvp's but I would not recommend it or any device with a replaceable battery or a battery door for my deployment bag. And a reo for combat? Sorry but there are no sqonkers in fox holes :nun:

Huh... Taking an Iphone on deployment... Man how things have changed. I did 10 years in the Marines, multiple deployments, 2 tours in Iraq... Never took more than a cheap expendable mp3 player. and yea, sand and dust got in it and killed it shortly before I rotated out. But then I was 0311, infantry. You could lock one of us in a padded room with 3 solid steel bowling balls for an hour. One would be lost, one would be stolen and the other would be broken.

As to vaping there... I can just imagine how fun it will be to get sand on your coils and fire that baby up. indestructible or not, sleeved or not, sand can and will get everywhere. put a sleeve on it, sand will get between the sleeve and mod bod and eat the finish. wrap the mod in tape to eliminate that and sand will get in the battery compartment. solve that and sand will still be able to get through the air holes to your coils. The juice will make it stick.

Im not sure there really is a GOOD device, but I would suggest something that you dont mind having destroyed. that sand and dust is brutal.

Wish I vaped during my last deployment.

Couple things I use while hunting/fishing/farming

IPV D2 with Subtank Mini - Fits in the pocket really well and has been flawless. Stick a unicorn bottle and 2 extra 18650s in your IBA or shoulder pockets and head out with like 20 coil heads. Plowed fields, planted fields, brush hogged fields, up and down tree stands, cut two chords of wood, planted trees, sweated my rear end off, still ticking. Someone in the rear can always APO you more coil heads.

I run around post with an 18500 mech mod topped with a squape R using the B deck. Very small very reliable. Also have the 18350 tube but that battery does not last long when you are outdoors ripping it so I use the D2/Subtank when I go to the farm.

The reason I think charging batteries is better than recharging on the go is that running around the desert or the mountains while charging a device will most likely be where it gets hosed. You can run around with 2 extra batteries and recharge them all when you get back to your hooch.
