Hello,
I've been using the Ego One XL for a few months now and it just seems to be not performing well at all. It continues fire sometimes after releasing the button and over all just performs very poorly even on juices it had no issues with in the past (60pg/40vg).

I really don't have lots of money to blow and was quite happy with it until recently. New atties don't seem to help it so I'm asking you guys for something that isn't too expensive that will work well with 100% vg juices as I'd like to not be affected by wicking issues as much as possible.

A friend at work uses an I-Stick with some sort of tank and seems to like it (he has used thick and thin juices well with it from my understanding). Does something like that sound reasonable? I'm not too interested in building coils so a tank with replaceable store bought atties is a must for me.

Thanks for any recommendations.
Low price is a big thing to me since I really don't have tons to spend but I'm sure I can scrounge $150 for something that will do the job... prefer to have some guidance before doing so though cheers =)

To my knowledge there is no atty that goes well with 100% VG. Unless you mean the 80vg/20pg blends. But even then most of them struggle.
Your best bet would be a dripper tbh (RBA)

Store bought atties aren't realy made to handle more than 50/50 or perhaps 70/30pg but they also struggle in my experience.
But for a 100% (Or well atleast 98% VG) You kinda must use a dripper.

Sorry that i can't be more of a help than this, maybe someone else know some obscure tank that i don't know of that's not an RTA/RDA. :)

Edit: As far as mod goes with 150$ you could buy nearly any of the current top of the line mods. But your issue seem to be mainly the tank due only wanting to use premade coils.

But if were to recommend something, kanger subox would be a good starting point that's not overly expensive. And it comes with an RBA deck so IF you decide to try rebuilding you can do that aswell without extra costs (apart from the kanthal, cotton.)

However it will not handle pure 100% VG without dryhits.

Before you spend on a new device maybe we could diagnose what is wrong with your current PV.

Did it work well before? If so how often would you replace the disposable coil in the tank? Sometimes a good cleaning of the tank and 510 threads can solve the problem. If the threads are not clean on both the atty and battery you could get some weird resistance readings and since the ego one does not display resistance you wouldn't be able to know.

As far as liquid feeding, it all depends on the atomizer's capabilities. The above suggestion is true in that most disposable coil tanks won't do the best with 100% VG. I hear some of the sub ohms tanks are decent with high VG though, like the Artic, Atlantis, and Subtank. Still not extremely consistent.

If you are in the market for a new device, I would recommend the the Joyetech eVic-VT if you want to get into temp control. More of these replaceable coil tanks are starting to use the proper wire for temp control, as noted in the product description. Innokin makes a good product too, the MVP Pro is supposed to be nice, no temp control there though.

As far as tanks check out various websites. I use Myvaporstore as an example, but there are many more. Most of the "subohm" tanks also offer higher resistance coils, I recommend trying both.

Good Luck

You might consider a 510 dripping atomizer. These are factory made atty's that do not use a wick material. You drip your liquid (even 100% Vg) directly on the coil. You can only drip a few drops of e-liquid at a time, vape a few times, and then add more e-liquid onto the coil.

These will work on any battery device (eGo's to mechanical mods to regulated mods). Ohm ratings 1.5 ohm to 3.0 ohms. These atty's generally last 2 - 3 months, just dry burn the coil as needed to remove deposited gunk. About $7 each. Ability to change flavors on demand.

I have been using an eGo One 2.5 ml tank with .5 coils for about 10 days. I've went through 5 coils. The longest time for a coil has been 2 1/2 days with a 85 vg juice. I've gone back to my Subtank Plus and will stay with it until something truly amazing comes out. I vape it around 25-35 watts. The OCC coils are good but the rba is very simple to build on and works better. Subtank Plus/Mini all the way.

Thanks for all the replies. I also posed my question to my local vape shop and they gave me a couple suggestions also.
I am giving my Ego One a thorough cleaning right now to see if that gets me going for the next few days (haven't wanted a cig so bad since that thing took a crap but am holding out).

After watching some reviews on the Kanger Subox Mini Starter Kit I think I like what I see. It's a bit above the $150 mark after I add in 2 batteries, charger, and a pack of 5 x OCC coils (in case I don't dig the RBA) but appears to handle thick juices much better than anything I've owned this far. If RBA's really are better for thick juices I may just have to start using them and ignore my preference for prebuilt. I did notice that reviewers were using thick juices with the OCC coils with good results... I hope that is the case.

I appreciate the post on the drip tip information... it has never been for me as I just like things super simple and as hands free as possible. Either way I won't be buying anything today but hopefully in a few more I can get something to get me fixed up. I have 2 x 120ml vg bottles I'd love to get into. If anyone else has suggestions I'll keep checking on and off and will try to keep an open mind as to possible options.
