Well it is a butter cake flavor:p Seriously though, I could have sworn they posted a while back that they don't use it in any of their juice. In any case, as soon as boB isn't busy I'm sure he will have a direct answer for you.

EDIT: Did a search and found this post by boB from back in May...
It will, it was difficult staying away from Diacetyl in what is a gooey butter cake but we've managed to put one together without it :)

Thanks, don't know why my search didn't uncover that post :(

I am still concerned about the other possible dangerous ingredients such as Biacetyl Dimethyl diketone 2,3-Diketobutane. A few people on this forum claim that it is not possible to synthesize anything that tastes like butter without those.

I would like positive affirmation that none of the above are in Gooey Better Cake for complete peace of mind...

Hi, I'm glad you are happy with the flavors and understand your concern :) This is certainly a valid concern and one we have addressed several times but seems to get buried so maybe at some point I will combine some sticky threads and create a FAQ that addresses these type issues.

Our Gooey Better Cake is indeed made to simulate the taste of an St. Louis Gooey Butter cake but it's a play on words of Betty Crocker. In truth the only real butter in a Gooey Butter Cake is the crust, it is more of a sweet cream cheese cake with powdered sugar. An explanation can be found here Gooey butter cake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Without tipping our cap too much we use flavorings from 4 different vendors in that recipe, 3 which claim to be free of the "D"s. The only one that isn't is TPA and we have a very good working relationship with Linda and are using some of the newer flavorings that are described as Diacetyl free in this.

Now like you depend on us to relay information to you, we are in much the same position from our flavoring vendors, we take their word or posted information for their claims. I personally vape this everyday and I can see where some perceive it as butter flavor but knowing the recipe I guess changes my perception and I don't really taste butter. The more important fact is there are no custards nor do I taste any custard notes.

Now having said all that can I say with 100% fact that it completely free from them? No, I can't, I can only assure you that we take the information provided to us and use that which every vendor that has not undergone testing can do. I can also tell you that we do plan to start having our liquids tested once we recover our initial investment and are able to do so. We have our customers health and safety at the forefront of our decisions and always will as we vape what we sell and stopped smoking to improve the quality and longevity of our lives.

Thanks, this is exactly the kind of answer that I was hoping for. I really appreciate your honesty. No wonder people keep you in such high regard!

well i must say, the directness and honesty of that reply is the final nail cementing my decision to use kbv for (nearly) all my juices not to say the reasonable prices and MAINLY because, with a few exceptions, they are the only juices i actually like.

{please excuse the mixed metaphor: "final nail cementing my decision"}

as opposed to others their shipping time is NOT particularly impressive, but i dont mind. it is clear to me that they are proceeding to develop their business in a manner to maintain their high quality, and ill bet the shipping time will eventually be top notch.

Yea I was a little surprised by that last half. The 4 orders I've placed so far have been super fast shipping. I can name another vendor that I ordered from on the 4th and STILL don't have their juice. I think it finally shipped yesterday and their prices are a lot higher than KBV. As for the Diecytyl I've never even heard of that. Definitely gonna have to read more about that.:?:
