Can't freaking g wait! Finally got a vv grand and era in the mail! Started about a year and half ago with a mini, loved it but needed something to last all day. Graduated up to a reo grand, loved it and still do! About 2 weeks ago scored a reomizer! Like it but it has a few flaws, but still works good. Tried a kick with my grand but didn't like it. Now graduating again to a vv grand and era! Soon I will be in vaping heaven!

So the people with an era, are you using a hybrid wick? Haven't made one yet for the reomizer, I've just been using silica. On my Phoenix rba I just put in a ss mesh wick. Only issue with it is you only get ONE hit and time to drip again! So I'm thinking about setting up the era with silica/ss mesh. Any input?

Congrats on the new addition! Wicks and RBAs all boil down to your own preference. I've tried silica/mesh hybrid wicks and didn't notice any difference. Some people say it improves the taste. To me it just adds extra steps to putting a new wick together :D. I have old eyes too so working with mesh that small isn't for me :D experiment though, you never know what you might like!

Sounds like the set up I was in line for next after you on the classifieds. Last night but I also ended up getting a vv reo grand with a ERA off the classifieds right after you bought yours. I am also looking for the same things. Wick, wire etc. Kinda funny we both were looking for and got the same thing. Only is your's is red with black and mine is silver and black! I already have the reo grand but also wanted a vv so we are in luck!

If you want to get up and running quickly at low cost just try 100% cotton yarn, bamboo yarn or pur cotton, (either rolled cotton or cotton balls.) The cotton is pretty much no hassle, very clean flavor, wicks great and makes it very easy to re-wick without having to wrap another coil.

Wrap your coil around a toothpick, (or pin if you want a micro-coil), roll a small piece of cotton between your fingers to form a thin roll and slip it through the coil.

DON'T DRY BURN WITH COTTON OR YARN WICK!

Yep, it was the same thing you were in line to buy! I was just a tad bit quicker for a change! Normally I'm always 2 minutes late!

I've tried cotton a few times before with no luck, never had the yarn though. Cant seem to find the natural undyed yarn anywhere!

^^^^+1. That's EXACTLY what I do. Love the cotton wicks. I have also tried (and really like) bamboo wicks and hemp wicks. The organic cotton ball wick is just the easiest wick in the world to make.

Totally agree. Tried the hemp route... was ok, but the organic cotton just wicks faster, tastes better, takes less time to get rid of its "native" taste, and is way easier to work with. Yes, it scorches more easily, but that's easily avoided by leaving long tails down into the bottom of the RBA and squonking liberally.
