I started vaping about a year ago and all I knew was that I wanted one. I ask for a good one and was completely at the mercy of the sales person. I was sold a Itazte MVP20 and a Aspire Nautilus. I liked it but it seemed something was missing; it seemed weak.
Yesterday I bought a Pioneer IPV5, Aspire Cleito tank/atomizer, and a Nitecore D2 charger and I'm really digging it. No mods but for now I can't want for more. I now get the lung hit and realize that is what I was longing for but didn't know was obtainable. The dude also turned me on to the Consolidated 365 juice, which is a vanilla custard that is seven dollars a 30ml vile cheaper then the Ripe Vapes VCT I've been using; I like it better. I also picked up a vile of Charlie Noble Pistachio which was recommended by the shop, I have yet to try it but suspect it to be nice.
Anyway... just thought I would drop in to say hi and tell of how happy I am with my vaping now.
Cheers!!!

I wouldn't push the Nautilus over 17 watts, and as above, 13 is just about right. I don't think your mod will take it, but if you like the Nautilus but want to kick it up a notch or two, the next step would be the Atlantis tank. But make sure you get a mod that can handle a load down to .3 ohms. It's not as hot a vape as it sounds, and still has the flavor of the Nautilus. Just something to think about in the future.

The Itazte and Nautilus was what I started with and I never ran it over 14. However, if you read my post again you will see I was sharing my joy over my new setup.
Never tried a mod on the old and find no need to do one on my new rig. Happy with it just as it is.
Thanks for chiming in!

BTW... as a hot rodder I assume a mod is a modification.

Sorry, I misunderstood you! I got the impression you were liking it and toying with more! You just never know around here anymore! I'm very happy it's working out for you!

Given you upgraded, I'd still hold onto your previous setup and use either of the two as a back-up, just in case. Always have a back-up available, and once you move on again, have a back-up for your back-up. There is also no reason to think you can't start to run other tanks and drippers on your current setup, just as a change of pace. You're stepping into, what has become, a very large world. Welcome to the party.

Just got my black cleito in yesterday and I'm really liking it so far. Really liking my whole new setup.

Congrats on your new set-up and I would also like to say Kudos to the shop who sold you your 1st beginner set-up for not over selling you something you may not of been ready for.
It is better to start small and work your way up before investing a lot of money and it gives you time to find out if you like vaping and then decide what you want next. I have heard of a lot of B&M employees selling beginners advanced set-ups that are either too fiddley or way beyond what a beginning vaper is ready for just because it is the current cool item or what they like.
There are 4 B&Ms in my area. One caters almost exclusively to Cloud Chasers, another has no knowledge of the product they sell, they don't even vape:confused: Another has employees that sell advanced stuff to beginners ( a mech and RDA really???) Only one has employees that really care on matching the device to the customer. That is the shop I go to, I don't spend a lot there but I send them a lot of business.:thumb:
Enjoy your new device:)

Thanks for the replies. I do plan to keep the old rig and also plan to get something a little more middle of the road. The IPV5 is a monster and very heavy. I like the weight though, feels like I'm holding something substantial.
This morning I couldn't wait to put in the batteries and hit that bad boy. This was the first morning I didn't want a cig. You see I love to smoke and didn't want to quit but knew I needed too and I've been smoking one in the morning and one after dinner. This new rig is so nice I want to hit it instead of a smoke.
BTW... I stole my first smoke at age 5; I'm 57 now.
Once a hoodlum, always a hoodlum.
Even with the old rig and two smokes a day I cleaned out my lungs and lowered my blood pressure.
I'm glad to have found this pleasing alternative. I can easily see why it turns people into cloud freaks!! lol

You can try the Nautilus mini up around 13-14 watts and see how it is there. I always thought the MVP's max wattage at 11 was a bit anemic with the Nautilus mini. When I moved up to something a bit more powerful, I found out I was right. 13.5 worked for me.
There are now several MVP's.

Up to the MVP 2.0, the limit was 11 watts.

The MVP 20 is the lowest wattage of the current offering at 20 watts.

It also boasts a flush 510 connector.

-----------

Welcome to the big times, OP.
Congrats on the new setup and being content finally.

This is where Vaping turns into an amazing thing when it comes to leaving smokes behind. When I first started Vaping again this past year, I was using a setup that just wasn't quite doing it for me, as soon as my first Mech and RDA came in the mail, Analogs didnt even cross my mind anymore. Its amazing how much excitement for something can change your whole perspective on things! Im glad you have found your niche in vaping, and have found something that truly satisfies you. Knowing that exact feeling myself, I am always glad when other people experience it!

That's exactly what I thought when I first started vaping. I thought it strange that the vaping community called anything with a battery in it a "Mod" ..... Mechanical Mod, VW Mod, VV Mod, Temp Control Mod

Strange ...

"Back in the day" it was called this because it was something else modified with a 510 connector. Be it a flashlight, a hollow screwdriver, whatever they could figure out to shove a battery into to make vape with. It was a while before people got creative and started making purpose built devices. That's where the name came from.

Welcome to the club of ex-smokers. ;) I wasn't looking to quit my 45 year affair with tobacco but a young acquaintance introduced me to vaping hybrid (flavored) NETs and I haven't smoked since. I started back in the low wattage days using a single coil protank on an Ego battery, inhaled mouth to lung something like smoking a cigarette. I soon evolved to using RBAs with low ohm dual coils on mech mods and began to lung inhale, found my sweet spot. The variety of gear and juice available today is simply amazing, I truly believe we're in the golden age of vaping. There's really no right way or wrong way to it, the trick is simply finding your personal preferred setup and flavors. With all the new juice and gear that keeps coming out the journey or search for "better" is never really over until you want it to be.

You know you've reached a good spot when you see both sitting on the table in front of you and you reach for your vaporizer instead. If you haven't gotten to that point, or where there and no longer are, something needs to change. There are other reasons to upgrade, but as long as you are vaping and not smoking then you're doing it right.

I've been around for 3+ years, the hardware that's out right now blows my mind. You can spend around 100 bucks and get a setup that will out perform 400 dollar setups 2 years ago.

This is a great explanation for lung vs mouth to lung hits though, some people just aren't fully satisfied unless they get that aggressive lung hit!

Glad you're enjoying your new vape, keep it up!
