Got me a fancy uc

Finally went full DIY. Got me a UC. Some say I don't need the heat function and sounds about right cause it goes up to 140 before it cuts off. Made 30mL of Flamingo and it is now in the UC. 30 min on and 30 min off. is that equal to one week or is it two cycles of this. Forgive me for being too lazy to use the search button. It has been on of those days.

1 hour = approx 1 week of steeping. 30 minutes on and 5 minutes rest is good. You don't want the water to cool to much. the 5 minute rest is just so you don't burn the unit out prematurly.

Thanks Danny. I have a thermometer and noticed the water stays at about 100. I can already smell the difference in the juice. Makes me want to ramake all my juice I am vaping now. I am definitely a believer in UC now. Can't wait to taste.

Question, someone had once said that she ruined a juice using the UC. I'm assuming she got it too hot? How else would this be possible? It was an AIV juice, and in my experience they *all* need at least a month's steep.

I have about 3 hours expericence but i would think it had to be heat because to me, all that is going on is mixing it really good plus heat.

Danny why do you insist on saying this, its just not true... My UC gives me 50 watts of 42khz of cleaning power and after a 30 min cycle the water is extremely hot and to just do a 5 min rest the water is still close to 100 degrees if not over. You run the risk of over heating your circuitry, I don't know how hot yours get but I think everyone who uses their UC for steeping should keep a good eye on their water temp between cycles.

True indeed but if you start at over or close to 100 then how hot is your water going to get during the next 30min cycle. I may be wrong but I thought for our purposes of steeping we where watching the heat not to exceed 120....Please advise danny

When you remove bottles from the UC you still have to let it sit for a couple of days so that the juice settles and gets it normal viscosity back. I have taken juice out of the UC and it tasted horrible but then after sitting a couple of days it was good again.

Likely burned the juice but I don't know of to many UC's that go above 120F. But there are a few industrial models that will. If you stick with a recommended model listed in the Steeping times and an ultrasonic cleaner thread your usually OK.

you need to use common sense. I don't insist on anything. I make recommendations. If you have one of those models that get overly hot then compensate. For most UC users the norm UC temp is 120F. And yes it goes without saying but I also do always INSIST that people should monitor there water temp.

That is a very true statement I notice this with all my mixes. The mix does change for the next 1 - 3 days after a UC steep.

This is what I do: I closely monitored temperatures until I was familiar with how warm the bath gets during a 30 on, 30 off cycle. I found that after about 2 cycles, I had to add one standard ice cube every hour to keep it from approaching 120. Once you get a feel for what too warm is, monitoring with a probe is not needed. -Hope this helps, and happy vaping!

Seriously...UC's are sooo 2013...While on the spendy side for ma and pa, they could produce more e-juice in about a minute with the MCS66, than they would likely need in a year anyway.

I first blend my flavoring with the MCS66 and then revert to the tried and true method of natural aging in a cool, dark sanctuary...There's a reason great wines & whiskeys aren't speed aged/steeped...

Albeit, that is a cool device but a UC is also a cleaner in between batches and to me is more practical.

Speed steeped wine for those with less than discerning taste...
