Hey guys, after building standard and microcoils for my protank for the past 6 months or so, I finally jumped and bought my first rebuildable today. I wanted to get an Igo-L/W, but the vape store that I had a gift card for didn't have them, so I settled with the Nimbus. Not sure if it's a clone or not but probably is, it was $20. It has 2 air-holes, and came with dual-coils/silica already installed, and a couple more pre-made dual coils.

I only took a few short drags on the coil that came installed on it.
..... But the first thing I noticed, is how easy the cap falls off the deck! This is already frustrating me a little bit, this is my 1st dripper, but it really seems like the cap should fit tighter on the deck. If it wiggles the tiniest bit, the cap falls off. It's so loose, that if I even slowly tip my eVic sideways, the weight of the cap pulls it off the deck. Shouldn't it be a tighter fit so it doesn't just fall off?

When I vape, I have to push down on the atomizer so it stays pushed down against the deck.

Also, I haven't tried building on it yet. I've never built a dual coil, and the one the came pre-installed is fluctuating in ohms on my eVic, so I haven't even really vaped it. Seems very airy though, which must be because of the loose fit, because the employee recommended I drill out the air holes

Thanks!

You can do a couple things. One is try to find an O-ring set on the internet, look at ebay I think I've seen a set of about 6 or so O rings for the Nimbus/IGO's (they're the same diameter) and replace the one that on there or add an extra. But yes you're right the top cap should be snug. You could always go back to the store and show then that it's loose an ask for a thicker O-ring. The last thing you could do is pop off the O ring and wrap dental floss around the divet that it sits in and put the o-ring back on. Not a big deal and a pretty easy fix.

Thanks, I figured it should be a tighter fit.. Since I just bought it today, I want to just take it back and show them the problem. The employees were very helpful, so shouldn't be an issue. But the vape shop is about 40minutes away, I happened to be in that area earlier.

I'm guessing the loose fit is what's causing the super airy draw, as well. It's so airy, that I feel like I have to take a lung hit, which I don't usually do. I tried plugging one of the holes though, and than, pretty great flavor! Not a super thick cloud though, which I'm looking for.

And I'm vaping on the crappy pre-installed dual coil that came with it, it's fluctuating between 1.6-2.1ohms on my eVic.

If you're careful....you can "lift" an edge of the o-ring with a needle....then "capture" it with a toothpick....
Just try not to nick or pierce the o-ring using the needle..."fish" the point BEHIND the o-ring and GENTLY move it out away from the base..
Needless to say....the o-rings go ON easier than they come OFF!!"D
HTH!
Happy (vaping) Trails!

Few things, as some have stated. Add a o-ring or replace it. The nimbus you got is definetely a clone as well, real nimbus's retail 60 bucks or so. Also your coil should not be flucuating at all, this means your coil has a short which is no bueno. Try tightening down the post screws, that's usaully the issue. For the wicks, less is more for rda's, just saturate the wicks pretty good and you don't want a pool of juice on the deck because that means your not vaporizing the juice persay, your just getting the excess off the wicks/coils.

So I took it back into the store today. I was hoping they would replace it, but they repaired it for me instead.. They took out the 2 o-rings and tried a few different sized o-rings until they got the perfect fit..

I'll try rebuilding it tonight. I suspect I'll want to drill out the 2 air-holes a bit, I'll worry about that later.

Thanks everyone!

edit:

The guy at the store showed me his Nimbus, and he did say that they are suppose to be kind of loose. So maybe this is how it should be? I'm just confused, because he also said I'd get the best vapor if I drilled out the 2 air-holes a little bit.
.... But right now, I seem to get the best vape when I plug one of the air-holes completely with my finger. If I don't plug one, the drag is still incredibly airy. Is that just how these drippers are?

I'm used to the Protank 1 & 2 if that gives you a comparison. But if I tip my evic to the side with the Nimbus screwed down on it, the cap falls to the side and opens the seal.

So when I try to vape this thing, I have to plug 1 of the air-holes with one finger, while pushing downward on the tank to to keep the cap on & sealed with my thumb, while taking a drag... I know this isn't right?

I'll just go back to the store again tomorrow and see if they can help me out. I'll probably buy the Kanger Aerotank or something too because I feel bad for being such a pain lol.

I'll try rebuilding on it sometime today (finally lol), and see how it works.. It's still a pretty loose fit, but definitely tighter than before. The thing that bothers me is that I have to push down on the cap and plug an air-hole while vaping, to keep the tank sealed and keep it from being so airy..

I'll probably try a 30g single microcoil, or maybe a 32g dual-micro, for my eVic. Will update in a bit!
