Well, I ordered by Joye 510 from ecigexpress.com on 12-19-09 which was a Saturday. They shipped it on 12-21-09 which was the following Monday. I received my Joye 510 today, 12-26-09 which is Saturday. Seven Days later. Not bad shipping if you account for the weekend and holiday.

I work nights so I woke up at about 230pm and like every morning I got up, went to the restroom, brushed my teeth and then checked my email. I checked the USPS track and confirm thing and it said that it had been delivered. At this point my pulse rate increase because I have been excited about getting this thing.

I don't live alone. I live with my brother. He got up before me and checked the mail so my package was sitting there in the living room on the coffee table. I missed it every time I walked by the table. My brother says, as he is playing MY Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, "Hey you got a box in the mail..."

Man I tore through that box like it had cake in it and I was a fat kid.

I am loving this thing except for one little thing. It seems like the juice in the included carts is giving me real short, mild head aches. But they leave as fast as they come. Other than that i have no complaints. I love it.

When I bought it I still had 3 Camel Lights analogs and 2 wine flavored swisher sweet cigarillos. I smoked 2 of the three camels because I hate wasting money. I am saving the last camel as a temptation. Every time I have wanted to light it I take a drag from my 510.

First day impressions are freaking awesome. I even dropped the dang thing on the sidewalk while I was fumbling with my empty pack of camels... But it survived without even a scratch and works like normal.

Anyway, from a 10 year pack a day smoker I say if you're on the fence about the Joye 510, you need to get it. Its great.

I will say that even though I am not counting off for this, it has a little less throat hit than I was expecting. Either way, great e-cig. I am very happy so far.

Thanks for everyone's feedback and help.

Congrats and Welcome Aboard!

There are a few things that can give you a mild headache and one is the nicotine level may be a bit too much for you. I started with 24mg strength and noticed headaches as well. I have since cut my nicotine to about 12mg strength. Also, like some people, the PG was always causing my throat to be irritated too much, more than a throat hit I wanted, so I have also since changed to using as much VG as possible. So between the two changes, less nicotine and more VG I have lost those intermittent headaches. I just don't get them anymore. Oh, and if you try and vape too much (which happens) that may also be part of the headache problem. Oh and drink more fluids than you normally do. PG will dry you out quickly and that will also add to the headache "mix".

You're off to a great start with your model e-cig as that is the one I love and enjoy every single day.

Kudos for quitting and if you ever have any second thoughts, just sit and vape and read, read and read some more. There are amazing stories on here that will help motivate you to stay smoke free.

Well, it came with 5 High Marlboro flavored carts(MLB is Marlboro right?) and I was hitting it like a champ. I think i may need a little lower nic level.

I am going to order an extra batt, atty, RY4 and a case(not PCC) from ecigexpress.com on Wednesday.

I wish I could say nice things about ecigexpress.com but they haven't given me a need to call them yet so i guess that's a good thing. They ship from OHIO(I think) so delivery will be pretty quick from almost anyone in the midwest.

My brother tried it and he said he felt guilty afterwords... He said he didn't understand it but he felt like he just took a drag from someone pipe...and not a tobacco pipe either...

Anyway, He and I went to play poker at some friends house for a few hours and i drove one of our friends home in my brother's car. He knew my brother didn't smoke and hated that I did because he hates the smell. Well our friend saw me exhale a big plume of vapor and thought it was smoke. He was telling me how I am gonna get my .... kicked until he noticed that he didn't smell ANYTHING. It was funny. I told him about it and well I think he is gonna check it out. Day one and I am already recruiting people...lol

Thanks! I am excited about quitting. Its been about 5 hours without an analog and I have been staring at my last camel light the whole time. I just don't feel like I need it. God this is a great feeling knowing I don't need to light it. I think i will keep my analog as a reminder.

Thanks for the tips, I will give them a shot.

That might be dependent on the liquid you're using. Using 36mg PG/VG on my 510, the throat hit is evil... in a good way :)

As much as I would like a good throat hit I think I am going to stay away from the really high nic levels as I am wanting to ween myself off of nicotine altogether. Thanks for the tip though.

-----

I think I will still vape even after I ween my self off of nicotine. They have some tasty looking 0mg juice out there... I can't wait to try them juicy juices...

I smoked USA Gold Ultra-light 100's forever and was smoking one when the mailman drove up to my mailbox waving my e-cig starter kit out his window with a smile (he knew I was waiting for it). I took it in the house, put my e-cig together and took my first vape and with a big smile on my face I said out loud "Wow...!"

I immediately put my very last cigarette out, put it inside the last pack of cigs I had with about 6 cigs left inside and stuck them in a kitchen drawer. They have sat there ever since and that was at 11:30 on 4 November, a day I will always remember.

I did take them out of the drawer one time after about 2 weeks of vaping and just took a long hard smell of one cig with my nose and I didn't like the smell! I put them back in the drawer and I don't think I've even thought about them twice since and even when I did it was not because I wanted one.

I don't ever want to touch an analog ever again! I'm sittin' here right now with my 510 hooked up to my Passtru with my no-filler-mod cart full of Marlb (about 12mg strength) and even though it's 1:23 a.m. right now, I'm actually just enjoying sittin' here vaping away.

Damnit I love this thing.

That is awesome. Congratulations! I know non-smokers have no way to appreciate just how great this is because they don't know what it's like to not have a choice. When you smoke for years and years you feel like you HAVE to smoke and these e-cigs are a great, even more enjoyable, alternative.

Oh I also want to note that I am using the same battery, atty and cart that I used when i got it about 10 hours ago.......................

I was expecting about 2-3 hours battery life but I am dragging the heck out of this thing and it just keeps going and going.

EDIT: Just about 5 minutes after posting this my first batt died...lol charging it now and I'm on the second batt....

Hey J welcome and congrats for making the switch.
Ad some liquid when you start to get a funky burnt taste, or not much vapor. But be careful not to overfill, because that will shorten batt life if you flood the atty and you will get little to no vapor. Also, what I do is give the cig a few shakes to get liquid down to the atty if its starting to get dry.

I have another question.

When do you know you need to change carts? I don't want to dry out my atty but I don't know what to look for when it's time to change carts(or refill).

On the when to refill carts (you should have juice. If you don't get some quick ;-) when the flavor drops it's time to refill.

As for the headaches it could be the nic or it could be the 'new toy thing' where you're dragging your brains out. At first I was getting a bit of that at the back of my neck (wife too) from dragging. And in fact, that could be from too little nic. So experiment with nic levels.

If you plan on adding a batt - consider a mega batt 280mAh which will last longer and give you a better throat hit off a new charge - ultimately a 510 mod even at 3.7/4.2V will help with that too but enjoy what you have. Megas are available at TW, Janty and heaven gifts and eastmall and probably other places now. Well worth the purchase and @2x the batt life of the regular 510.

Congrats! btw.

I noticed I am vaping quite a bit more than I would be smoking. I think it is a combination of the fact that i don't have to go outside, its a new toy, and I am really craving the throat hit. Maybe I shouldn't have my camel analog sitting in front of me like it is....

I hope this new toy phase passes quick...lol

I noticed after I ate, which is when I would usually smoke an analog, vaped and it was great. I was a little worried about the big cravings but it did not disappoint.

Kind of hard to explain. Once you learn it it's obvious. The taste changes, the vapor falls off and it gets harsher. Once you learn the symptoms you will know it right away. For me it's the harshness for the first sign. Once you start tasting the filler your way past topping off time.

Oh, those batteries will start falling off fast. When I first got my 510 I thought it wasn't as bad as everybody was saying. It is. Just give it a little time.

Ok, cool, thanks. I figured I would learn as time goes on. I just don't want to burn up my atty in the process. I figured better safe than sorry. Thanks for the info.

Oh... thats a little dissappointing but still not bad. I guess I will have to get some of the longer batts or more regular bats or something. I really don't like the popular PCC for the 510. It just looks awkward and seems like it would feel weird in my pocket. plus I intend to create a little survival kit to take with me on trips or something which will include a car charger and batts and whatnot.

Thanks,
j

The PCC for the 510 isn't awkward at all. It feels like a pack of 100s but only about 2/3s as wide. I also thought it would feel weird but after always walking around with 2+ packs of cigs at all times it really hardly feels like its there. In fact a lot of times I grab my phone by mistake.
I would highly suggest picking one if I were you. I've been off analogs for 2 months now and never would have made it without the PCC, especially when out drinking.:) Before my PCC came in I had no problem not smoking until 2-3 o'clock rolled around at the bar and both my batteries were dead. Then I would just bum a couple of cigs until I got home and recharged my batts.

You know, I almost didn't get the 510 with a manual battery because I thought it would be awkward and take away from the experience which I wanted to mimic smoking analogs as closely as possible. I was wrong about that and I am glad I got the manual versus the automatic batteries.

I am doing the same thing about the PCC. Maybe I should take your advice and just buy one. I don't know. Its kind of a hard decision for me because I HATE wasting money. I don't mind and am able to spend it I just hate when I spend money on something I don't use. This is why it took me 6 months to decide to buy an e-cig to begin with.

Maybe I should bite the bullet and buy one.

Thanks,
j

Trust me, with the 510 you won't be wasting your money on a PCC. I mean you should be able to get one for between $25-30 shipped. I just look at it as how much I used to spend/waste on cigs each month. As long as I spend less than $150 a month I'm coming out ahead. I also really hate to waste money. In fact last week I was thinking that if I had waited 2 months to get my 510 from ecigexpress I could have saved $20-30 on some of the Christmas specials. Then I realized that by waiting I would have spent $2-300 on a product that just went up in smoke. Just think of all the money you "wasted" while waiting 6 months to get an ecig.

You will definitely need a PCC. Me and my boyfriend both started vaping with a 510 around 3 weeks ago and that thing is a lifesaver. He carries his PCC comfortably in his shirt pocket at work. As long as you charge the case up every night, you won't have to worry about being out somewhere and having no working battery on you, or have to carry around a ton of extra charged batts. You can just have your put together 510 you are using to vape on, and have a spare batt charging along with an extra atty and 2 carts in your PCC. When one batt goes dead, swap them out and you will always have a charged one on you. We couldn't keep up vaping if we didn't have our PCCs. A well spent investment IMO :).
