Got my Kanger ProTank today ... but, it doesn't fit my battery!

Was so excited to get my Kanger ProTank in the mail today! Only to be dissappointed that it doesn't work with my Volt battery from smokeless image!? Is there an adapter, that isn't going to look horrible, or should I just invest in a different battery to use with the ProTank?

Personally, I'd go pick up at least an eGo battery. If you've got the Pro tank you're halfway to moving to a different level as it is.

If not, I know madvapes has small adapters (901/808D to 510 adapter is what you need) for under $2.

protank's come w/ 2.5ohm heads, won't work too well w/ a non-vv batt, u can use it w/ an adapter but u won't get much vapor. best to get an ego twist/vision spinner.

Oops, well Man, I suggest that you get a Twist Ego battery, until you decide to get a battery vari volt mod. because they're cheap and you can adjust the voltage, to get a 2.5 OHM pro vari to even function you'll probably need at the least 4.0 volts. I recommend at least 4.5-4.8 which is the standard highest point on a twist ego battery.

I am rather new to vaping and I suppose I jumped the gun, buying the ProTank, I had read so much about certain e liquids ruining clearomizers. So I supposed having another battery wouldn't be such a bad idea. I'm really trying to understand the whole VV thing

dmswells - Welcome to the world of vaping and ECF, I too started with all Smokeless Image products and I want to add this is an exceptional company, with outstanding Customer Service but basically designed for the new to intermediate vaper. All of Smokeless Image products are 808 threaded. All of Smokeless Image products work flawlessly with each other unless specified only for X2 batteries. There are other vendors such as Halo and V4L that also carry 808 threaded products.

Most of Smokeless Image cartos and clearos range in the 2.4 ohm to 2.8 ohm range, the Protank or at least mine are reading about 2.5 ohm so there is not much difference from the SI products you are use to.


The above photo shows the difference in the threading for the 808 and 510. The Protank is 510 and although it can be used with an adapter on the SI X2 batteries (wasn't sure if you had just the plain X2 or the Spinner which SI also sells) there aren't any thread covers which would give it that sleek look you would get if you had a 510 threaded battery.

All the information here can be overwhelming at times, but the most improtant thing is you have found vaping!!

Buy a Vision Spinner or a Vamo to use that Pro Tank on. Spinners are a bit easier to read the voltage markings on, those Joyetech Twists will have you tilting your head and squinting.....

510 devices will give you a large assortment of juice delivery systems to choose from. 808 Volt will limit your choices.

From reading a few of the OP's previous posts it seems he/she has the Voltx2 1300mah battery.

If so, the 808d to 510 adapter is all that you 'need' to use the protank or any other 510 threaded delivery device.

Get yourself a Sigelei zmax, it's a great mod for around 70 bucks it has 510 and ego threading which means it will take anything you want to put on it and it has variable watts which is better than VV. There isn't anything to understand you just adjust the watts to match the taste you want. Another good chice is the Vamo which will do all the same stuff as the zmax for 10-20 dollars cheaper.

The 808 to 510 Adapter - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes will make the X2/ X2 spinner from SI work perfectly fine on what you have at the moment. I'm currently using the same exact thing on my spinner and protank, and OMG, the vapor... the downside, is that it won't have that clean look you would have gotten with an ego battery, but for now, just starting out, I'd just grab the $3 adapter. When you move up to an ego/ vision/ whatever-ego-510-mod, you'll still have the SI's as back ups, and still have access to all your tanks, vivi novas, carto-tanks, etc.

-Couldn't you also adjust voltage to match the taste you want too?
-What makes VW better than VV if your adjusting wattage anyways to get the taste you want?
