It's my first time buying a vape and me and a friend have been doing a lot of research into buying our first vape. (We're buying it together, the exact same thing) I want to know if anyone has any suggestions, I'm getting the stuff from CanVape because it's the quickest and cheapest available in Mississauga from what i know. So far I've got these things

Needle Bottle 15ml

Genuine Joyetech eGo-C Twist Battery - 1000mAh (Curious about this, is it only the battery case or are the batteries themselves inside as well? I'm not sure)

Genuine Joyetech eGo Mega Powered USB Charger

1.5ml Changeable Drip Mini KangerTech ProTank2/ProTank-2 BCC Pyrex Glass Cartomiser (I've read that the protank v2 mini is one of the most reliable and the Protank v3 has leaking issues and mixed reviews)

KangerTech coil unit for EVOD/Protank/Mini Protank 2/... Unitank clearomizer - 2.5ohm 5Pack (We're planning to use the vapes for good smoke clouds, as well as to quit cigarette smoking, one of us is going to use Nicotine free flavors, while the other one is going to be using 50/50 and slowly cutting down from there)

So far this is all we're ordering, was wondering if we're missing anything. Going to get the E-Juices from a local store, To Vape, is the Protank v2 Mini & eGo-C Twist Battery enough, or are we missing out on something important. Wasn't sure how the batteries are charged either, which is why we got the charger. Got a 5 pack of coils/clearomizers because i read you need to change the coil every 600 or so puffs, I may get a spare battery because i also read that if i use the battery at 4.2v (probably not going to risk going higher) it can sometimes overheat & i would need to either stop vaping for a bit or swap the battery?

I'd appreciate direct responses because we've spent a good amount of time watching YouTube reviews, reading newbie guides, there's just a lot of stuff to take in. Also if you know anything i listed that can be improved, please do let me know. Right now it's costing around $75 a vape without the juices. I'll probably be confirming the order within the next 12 hours or so.

It looks good except you need the USB Wall Power supply to go with the USB charge cord ;)
USB Wall Power Supply $4.95

The extra coils are a little high. I would go with a 2.2.

And something to think about is to get 2 twists and 2 mini tanks. That way you have one to use while 1 charges. They take about 3 hours to charge.

And on the twists, you don't need any internal batteries to go in it. The battery is built in ;)

Good Luck on your journey. :)
You can do it, You will feel so good after you get off the cigarettes :)

I'm here, when I'm here
(Someone's been studying :D) Looks like you have it pretty much covered. The only thing I didn't see was a spare battery. You'll want that after the battery you've been using dies. There's nothing like watching your battery charge so you can go back to vaping.

As far as changing the coil every 600 puffs. I don't change mine until I taste a burnt taste. The coil I'm using as I type this I've had for about 9 days now and still going strong. And here's a web site that will help you figure out what to set your vv at:
Volts,Ohms & Watts

Good luck and Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

Dolphins, Thanks very much on your response, What voltage can the Joyetech eGo-C twist 1000mAh go to? I'm not too sure, i went for 2.5 because from what i read it's like 2.1ohm - 4v max, and since i was hitting 4.2 i thought going for 2.5 over 2.2 was a safer choice?

I have another question, does having a 2.2 or a 2.5 or a 2.8 or even a 1.8ohm make a difference in the actual feel of vaping? Or is it just how resistant it is from getting burnt-out from the voltage? I think i'll stick to 2.5 if there's even the slightest risk of the vape blowing up in my face if i increase the voltage on a 2.2.

I'll probably get another ego-c twist 650mAh since they have it on offer for $40 with 30ml of e-liquids, going to have to wait for the administrator to give me access to the nicotine e-juice part first though haha.

the twist has the battery built in.

for the same money as a twist and charger you can get an MVP. If you dont care about it being a box mod it is a much better device and very NooB friendly. I wish someone had told me before i went the Ego route. At least your looking at a spinner. MVP is $40-60 lots of threads with links.

you wont need a needle bottle with the tanks you are ordering they are pretty easy to fill.

the lower the Ohms at the same voltage the warmer the vape. Volts*Volts/Ohms = watts. More watts = more work at the coils. You can increase the volts or you can reduce the ohms. That is why i recommended the MVP as you can set the wattage and not worry about the volts for the different attys.

The "battery" on an eGo is the entire lower unit. There are no pieces to it, the whole thing is the battery.

On the tank, if I may be so bold, I would suggest a Kangertech MT3 clearo instead. It's bottom coil and holds 3ml of liquid rather than the 1.5ml Protank II.

Obviously you would need to order the correct atmomizer for it rather than the other coils, but it will hold twice the liquid and give you a better flavor from them.

Thanks Wildman! I think i'll stick to one 2.5 and ask my buddy if he wants to get a 2.2 so we can swap/test it to see which one is preferred. I've never tried a vape before so I don't know what "warmer" would feel like. I actually don't want a box mod so that's totally out of the picture.

@CompletelyAverage, Would it actually give me a better flavor? From the reviews I've read the V2 mini is really good especially on flavor. Also, we intentionally picked the smaller one to make it look less-bulky.

What's the difference between a bottom coil and the regular one?

Edit : NVM Found it.

I might decide to get the t3's as well as the protank 2 mini. No harm in having more than 1 vape (Since i'll be having the spare battery anyway). Also, isn't it suggested to get more than one tank incase i want to change flavors?

i just have a question about the mt3. Is it plastic or glass? I've read that plastic can be a real ... to clean and people get frustrated because of it.

I'm a big fan, too, of the Kanger T3S/MT3S tanks, and I probably use them more than any other tank. However, they are plastic. I've never had any problem cleaning plastic tanks (I've never heard that complaint) versus glass/pyrex--pretty much the same process for both. The one thing that I would keep in mind, though, is that you have to be careful about using certain liquids in plastic tanks. A lot of liquids (citrus, cinnamon, etc.) can be "tank crackers"--the will literally crack plastic tanks.

bottom coil is typically cooler... if they are done right they never have a dry hit because the wick is always wet. However, if not done right they can over-wick and get gurgling. There are good top and bottom coil devices - just a personal preference.

I thought the same thing about the box mod but I acutally prefer it now. The nice thing is that it will run for days on a charge. For the lost cost it is a great performer. If you can put your hands on one you might change your mind...worth checking out if you have a local shop near you.

Nice. I wish I'd done the research you did before I got into a real kit. Would have saved me a number of purchases.

The only thing I'd add that hasn't been outright stated is that the MT3S uses a different coil than the Mini-Pro. Not a big deal, but it will require you to maintain both atomizers. The extra capacity is nice, for sure, but the atomizers are really hard to tell apart and eventually get mixed. For that reason, I rarely use my MT3S and mostly use my eVod's and Mini-Pro's. I don't find it too much trouble to fill up, though, so not having 3+ ml is rarely an issue for me.

Once you figure out your preferred tank, you might think about another 2-3 for quick juice changes. When you're trying to find your ADV, you'll probably vape a few flavors that are so-so to you and you might want to change out throughout the day. You can switch without too much trouble, but only if the flavors are compatible. For example, a bakery flavor might not go so well with a more savory flavor...or something like that.

I'd echo the spare battery, definitely a must have. I go through a change about once every day to day and a half with moderate usage. Plus, if you experience a failure, you'll have something to rely on. (It's rare, but it can happen.)

Good luck on your journey and welcome to ECF!

Hello! I was in the same situation you were, about a 2 weeks ago, trying to sift through all the information I could to make the best possible purchase I could, all while trying to learn as much as possible. I made the mistake of not getting a backup battery on my first order, and of course quickly realized that was a bad idea. Long story short after recently kicking the analogs, I found myself at the bar with a dead battery and no backup. I almost went for an analog, but decided to go home and get my ego-c twist on the charger instead. While waiting for it to charge at 1am, I ordered an Innokin iTaste VV 3.0.

Definitely get a backup battery :) and good luck!

Kanger Mini Pro II (bottom coil)

iClear 30 (top coil)

I like both tanks. They both vape well but IMHO, the iClear 30 is easier to fill. Just remove the drip tip or the top ring of the tank and fill. Good to go.

Good luck & Happy Vaping!! :vapor:
