I'm sure you all remember the 20 page "discussion" last night. . I am apologizing for all of my unnecessary insults and overall snarky-ness. I don't get like that. That is really not my ideal attitude when meeting new people. I don't think analogs are better, I was just questioning the safety of vaping with analogs as a comparison in the short term. But, I have come to the solution where I am just going to mouth inhale and probably a cut back system where I drop to 0mg. Just so the thread is not a waste, what are some ways to inhale through the mouth to absorb more nicotine? Maybe point the mouthpiece under the tongue or something?

Now hey everyone. I think he was honestly apologizing. No need for the sharks to start biting right off the bat.

AskJoey, there is a certain etiquette to forum posting. A lot of forum posters are forum addicts, such as myself. I started using forums back when they were on BBS's using dial up modems.

But a lot of new vapers aren't into forums and don't know/how/what to post and where. Usually a good forum will have things called "stickies" because they're packed full of important info like forum rules and such. It is always a good idea to get at least a good look at them before posting.

That being said, a lot of people here have just as big an ego online than they do in real life. Brush 'em off your shoulder. The best way to avoid the whole "troll" issue is not to pursue an argument for the arguments sake.

Stick around and you'll find some likeminded people you'll bond with.

EDIT: One thing I learned, and learned early, is no matter how clever a reply you come up with, someone will always come along and one-up you. Best to just ignore it and move along.

eh ........... you're not the only one around here that can have a bad day. Seems like that is a side effect of messin' with your nic intake.

Hell, a hospital wouldn't let me have a patch when I was there some years back ........... now I have to use a different hospital if I need anything

I wonder if they would let you vape haha.. I always wondered what smokers did when they were hospitalized and how they were able to stand it in there nicotine free.

Haha, no hard feelings. We all get crazy on the internet sometimes. I thought it was pretty entertaining, honestly. The human ego has no bounds.

Please understand that the whole "smoking vs. vaping" issue is one that gets a lot of people's blood boiling as there are people out there arguing that we should not have the option of vaping at all based solely on the fact that we don't know the long-term effects. With pending legislature on the horizon, we are a bit tense when it comes to things like that, as many of us have experienced clear and obvious increases in our overall health and well being since making the switch. We would hate to see our new habit go in the name of dangers unsubstantiated by evidence when analogs have already been proven to cause death in addition to the immediate health problems. So when someone comes in talking about how these kooks may just be right, people here get upset. You essentially pressed the big red button with the way you worded your inquiry. Believe it or not, this is actually one of the nicest, most community oriented vape forums out there. I'm not blaming you for getting torn into. I'm just not surprised it happened.

chalton36 has it right. The nicotine will absorb through all surfaces of the mouth and mucous membranes, so just keep it in your mouth for a few seconds and blow it out through your nose.

There was a question you asked repeatedly which implied that one year of cigarette smoking would cause no long-term damage. I'd like you to do one thing, Get a sheet of toilet paper, take a big drag off of a cigarette, put the toilet paper flat against your mouth and exhale. Then do the exact same thing with a new sheet of TP and an ecig instead of a cigarette, look at the difference in the two sheets of TP. Look at the tar all over the first one, imagine how big of a pile of tar would be on that one sheet of toilet paper after 365 days of constant smoke exhalation. In case it's not obvious, the TP is your lung tissue.

Yup. I've done this before. except I put some paper towel inside of the roll tightly crumpled up and the whole thing was yellow lol. But let me ask you something, if you do a "shallow inhale" of vaping, does the vapor go through your whole lungs quickly or just barely go down your throat? I really want to feel a throat hit and I miss it after a few hours of mainly mouth inhales.

that's a shame but as far as my interest goes, woulda liked to have read his little rant tho.

Lol it wasn't a rant. I basically asked vaping for one year (since we don't know what can happen years after vaping for a while) was worth continuing OR just smoking cigarettes for one year and then quitting. I'll admit that I havent read all the health articles about vaping like some forumers, but I did read a lot of stuff and I just got a little worried. That turned into a huge 20 page slinging of insults and arguments from other members and myself. And thats basically how the last 3 hours of my saturday was spent :).

Apology accepted and I hope you find what works for you.
Plain and simple fact is Abstinence is the only sure answer. However, Smoking is the Known worst choice.

Onr hting you can take away from here is hundred of us have improved health from switching whether being short or very long term smokers. We therefor choose to go with what is working to keep us on the + side in life.
I could be hit and killed by a car tomorrow so vaping doesn't scare me.
