I have read this forum off and on for a long time and I finally decided to take the plunge and try ecigs. I am a 2pkg a day virginia slims ultra lights gal. I THINK I want to with the KR808d-1. Here are my questions....

How long will the starter kit last?

Do I need to buy anything else to get started?

Since cigarettes taste differently, what kind of juice should I get?

How long does it take to charge the batteries?

More questions to come, but these are the main ones right now. Any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks.

The starter kit should last you well..until you want to upgrade it really.
The things that don't last are the cartos, they are disposable part of your new kit - and not being a KR8 user I'm not going to give advice on how long just sort of steer you in the right drection untiil someone who uses them passes by lol.
Juice - well you can buy pretty much any flavor. I like the sweeter ones myself and I buy at Tasty Vapor (Tasty Vapor) and DIYFlavorshack (DIY Flavor Shack by E-Cig Smoke Store) the most often - I use other places as well but I'm trying to limit the links in one post lol.
You can refill most cartos as well, so you aren't chained to the flavors that arrive with the kit. Tobacco type flavors are also popular but they don't taste 'like a cigarette' more like pipe tobacco and these can come with added flavors as well (for example RY4 is a tobacco/caramel blend)

That pretty much exhausts my (limited) info on KR8s - but others will be here shortly to answer more fully :)

You will love the KR808. I have been using it for months, and even though I also have an EGO, the KR808 is my favorite. I have also tried the 510 (have a ton of them sitting unused now), several mods (too many to name), the 801, the 901, and others I now forget. You should buy extra batteries so that if one fails, you have replacements. Buy lots of cartomizers until you get used to the idea of refilling. Personally, I hate refilling but do it anyway to save money. I have never liked the tobacco flavors except for 555, and I was a menthol smoker and hate menthol vape. My favorites are the coffee flavors, but some are better than others. My opinion is that Vapor4Life has the best cartomizers, particularly the WOW versions. They are more costly, but they last a lot longer than others. The batteries take way too long to recharge, and that is my biggest complaint about the model and another reason to have extra charged batteries on hand. For juices, I love the Cafe Sumatra from Vapor Station and am going to order Expresso from Backwoods Brew soon because of the rave reviews for it.

As a fellow VA Slims Ultra Lights 120s smoker and a vaper for a mere 10 days, I'll share the one I liked so far. I stocked up on a lot of samplers and of the 15 'tobacco' versions I have, I like Vapor Station's Texas best, followed by their Tampa. As people have stated, nothing really "tastes" like the cigarettes, but the Texas has come closest for me.

Thanks for the replies. I guess my biggest fear is if doesn't take like a cigarette I won't stick with it. The other flavors sound interesting but that is really not smoking IMO.

How much time is spent preparing (if that's the right word) to smoke ecigs? With cigarettes, you just light one up and you are good to go.

I went through a lot of tobacco flavors and have stuck with a couple of fruits and one that's kinda close to camels but after a while just tastes like plastic. Get some sample packs, it'll help you figure out what's best for you to vape, i went through 2 tobacco samplers, coffee, sodas, fruits. Also, i found a flavor i thought was disgusting to be quite awesome after a week or so of not smoking analogs, so if you can't stand the taste of it, give it some time, try it again.

As for preparing, depends upon how much you vape. i usually go through two carts a day of either one or two flavors. I carry the juice around with me and just top it off when i can tell the flavor is diminishing. I used to do a lot of preparation (having multiple carts ready to go) but now i'm set in my ways and keep one or two flavors handy and have empty carts if i'm tired of those and ready for one of my other juices. The method i use to fill takes roughly 1-2 min for each cart.

I also have two batts in rotation, and i charge one while vaping the other and swap out when it dies (i vape at work and at home). I've had bad luck with the passthroughs and haven't come to terms to try a third out.

KR801's a pretty good choice, been using the V4L line since april.

(edit for a bit more clarification)
