Got Red Hot Cartos from PatriotJed today...

i already knew i loved red hot candy cartos, and patriotjed mentioned in a post not liking them/wondering what was up with the flavor/etc. i jokingly said i'd take them off his hands, and he PM'd me offering to send them w/out trade, since mark fixed him up with something else.

since i have no trouble taking candy from strangers, i jumped at the offer.

i did promise to post to say whether or not they tasted the same as the red hot cartos i already had, to see if i could add anything of use to the ongoing discussion of whether there's a QC concern with this flavor and the verdict is...

no, i can't.

these taste just like the red hots i've already gotten, and love. so either PJ doesn't like the "good" red hot flavor, or all the ones i've gotten have been the "bad" red hot flavor and i love it anyway. sorry patriotjed, i was almost hoping they'd be bad, now i've just profited from your misadventure!

despite the fact that you said you didn't want anything for them, i'd love to send you a bottle of juice or something as a thank you. (i say juice cause i don't actually have much variety in pre-filled carts on hand). i do however have a ton of 5 ml flavors.

I've often wondered what the red hot tasted like, as I tried Cinnamon Bun once and it tasted very much like a red hot to me.

Have you tried CB, and if you have, could you comment on the differences?

edit: oops - I just scrolled like three posts down and noticed there was a thread that was already discussing this! and I guess it's Cinnamon Roll too, not Cinnamon Bun.

well, just to give you my personal take...

the red hot has a very sweet, candy, tangy taste with a light hit of "candy flavor" cinnamon. to me it tastes just like red hots, which i reconfirmed by, uh, borrowing some red hots from the bulk candy display at the supermarket to compare yesterday.

the cinnamon roll (which i also love) is much less sweet and more like the way powdered cinnamon smells. i also love both mixed with clove... omnomnom.

Im so glad you said that belle.I really think it is that tastes differ and vaping flavored liquids is very,very different than smoking.

me too, key, me too. believe me, there are plenty of V4L flavs i haven't been able to get on board with, so it's not a "everything V4L makes is pure gold" kinda post. but for me, the red hots are! so anyone with yucky ole red hot cartos that needs to trade 'em, let me know.

Thanks for the feedback. I keep meaning to get the Candy Shop Sampler sometime (mainly so I can try the butterscotch everyone here seems to rave about), but even though I like sweets, I'm not very big on chocolate or caramel flavors so that cancels out like 3/5 of what's included. Plus now I have bigger things on my mind, like trying some VG stuff.

Mixing cinnamon and clove sounds like a great idea though! I'll have to remember to buy more clove juice the next time I re-order.

the cinnamon (any of them) and clove is a great mix, a very full mouth-feel and if you like spicy, it's a treat.

i had the same issue with the candy shop sampler, as i can't taste creamy/choc flavors whatsoever. they literally taste like straight PG to me. and the VG (for me) is awful. so if you want to try a VG cart, lemme know... i think both my samplers are untouched except for the Mint and the Smilin' which i promptly washed out and refilled with Smilin' PG liquid.

the butterscotch, however, *is* simply amazing. too sweet for me to vape constantly but it's very, very good.

I'm happy that the red hot cartos are working for you. I guess they just aren't for me. I do, however, really like the cinnamon roll that I just got in last week. Yuuuuuhhhhh-mmmmeeeeeeeee.

And I still don't want anything in return, so just pass something on to someone of your choice.
