We have so many slugs here that if I don't put down the diatomes there wouldn't be any plants for the beneficial bugs to benefit.

You can also spread food grade diatamaceous earth. If it's food grade, it won't harm you or pets....and as a big bonus...it kills fleas. We are having flea problems this year because of the mild winter. I just bought a 50 pound bag of the stuff...getting ready to spread it on the carpets.

I will have to get some also, I have been using boric acid powder with some results but not good enough for me.

Diatamaceous earth is good stuff! I have a 50ld bag in the shed.....well it was 50lbs when I bought it.

Check the feed stores....they are more likely to have the food grade stuff because of livestock. The stuff in the garden stores has poisons in it frequently....ok for outside, but not in your house.

Sure enough. And this afternoon I had a bigg momma spider wander out into the living room floor on me. Hubs (the traitor, this thing clearly violated the rules of engagement by being in the house) caught it and let it go outside.
