(Rev 5 CE2 Engine)
If you like the way a CE2 vapes, with its loose easy draw, moderate throat-hit, and smooth rich flavor, these Maxomizers are a decent value. At this point I see these as a great alternative to the larger 'tank' systems. While they can't hold up to 6ml like some of the larger tanks, they are inexpensive enough to grab two or three for the same price and have more 'variety' in your all day vapes without needing to clean out tanks between flavors. Given their long life-span with some routine coil cleaning maintenance, treating the Maxomizer as a disposable option should still fall fairly close in operating cost to the larger tanks with replaceable CE2 engines.

Why buy a tank at this point with so many giant cartos coming out? If you like a 'hot buning' CE2 and do not have VV (Variable Voltage or Power), the Maxomizers I've found in stock here in the USA tend to come in one resistance option @ 2.8 Ohms. So, if you need higher or lower resistance atomizer coils, a custom tank might be for you. If you find 2.8 Ohms too cool or too hot with your fixed voltage PV, then I suppose a custom tank might still be a better deal.

Personal Pros:
1. They work on my Darwin with extensions (510>510, 510>901, 901>510) and the arm closes. They look nice on every PV I have, including the Boge Revolution box-mod (requires extension).

2. Holds over 2.5ml of liquid.

3. Lasts a very long time. I'm now working on week 6 of draining close to a full tank per day with my first Maxomizer V2. Given the long lifespan of these, figure pennies per day to operate them.

4. Superb battery life and moderate juice consumption (they don't waste a single drop)...very much an all day vape solution.

5. Easy, clean, fast filling with a needle tip bottle, small pipette, or syringe.

6. Tough build that does not leak, crack, or break, yet the window still provides a 'juice level' gage.

Personal Cons:
1. On fixed voltage eGo batteries I find they run a little cool for my personal taste. Pushing them up between 4 - 4.5 Volts (around 6 watts) on the Darwin gets them perfect for me. An easy fix for me on a fixed 3.7v device is to run a little more VG and nic in my liquids, but I'd still prefer an LR version if I were going to vape at or under 3.7v. For fixed 5v mods, I'm sure I'd want something higher than 3 Ohms.

2. While they do not gurgle or anything like that, these are slightly more noisy to vape than a regular CE2. I'm not sure exactly why, but I suspect it is because of the way the new large wistle tip mouth piece is shaped. You can definitely hear the air swoosh through these when vaping.

3. Unless you take some pretty creative steps, you are limited to the included mouth-piece with these. You can't just pop on your favorite standard drip tip. The included mouth piece is quite good to me however.

Summary:
There are times when it's nice to forget the bottle of liquid and piles of extra batteries. Up your nic level slightly (if you're used to floods of vape-plumes from something like a Dual Coil at 5v), fill one of these (easier and faster than making a cup of coffee), and hit the road. You should be good to go ALL DAY or more...no dripping, no fuss, easy on the battery life, and a much better than average vaping experience.

Good value! I've found I can operate these for as little as 60 cents per day INCLUDING the liquid. Just leave in ALL the plugs and parts, keep the coils clean, and you're good to go for several weeks of trouble free vaping.

A Maintenance Tip:
I like some darker high VG liquids, and they will indeed gunk up atomizer coils with a hard dark substance that effects performance pretty quickly!

I've found I rarely ever have to go through opening one of these to try to clean it. Leave it all together! Use the same flavor in it till it dies or you stop vaping that flavor, which ever comes first.

1. Get a bottle of Atomic Cinnamon @ 100% PG from Tasty Vapor. Important to get the all PG kind!

2. Every day or two drip a few drops of this liquid directly on the coils.

3. Do several 4 second burns without drawing air through the carto. Optionally, you might put a drop or two of the same flavor that is in the tank on the coils to re-prime it, or just tip the thing upside down and count to 30.

4. Continue vaping as normal. It will take a few hits for the Cinnamon flavor to go, but it will all vape out pretty soon.

NOTE: Do NOT put this high PH Cinnamon flavor in the tank of your Maxomizer, it will dissolve the clear plastic inner sleeve, make it turn white, and shorten the carto's life. Only drip a bit directly on the coils!

Why does this trick help prevent gunk build up? This particular cinnamon flavor has a very high acid content. It loosens up and breaks down the build up left behind by other liquids. Also the all PG base helps too. About once a week, it might also help to do the AC burn described above and shoot several loads of distilled water or PGA over the coils with your syringe to wash them down good. If there are globs of gunk that don't wash off, you can 'gently' pick it off with a wooden tooth pick while it is still good and hot just after a long burn. Nope...no need to take the carto apart or empty the tank to do such a wash. It's all in the coils ;)

An added bonus...AC is a great cinnamon candy flavor (Altoids, red-hots, fire-balls, etc.)! Too bad it doesn't work well in anything clear. To truly appreciate a long vaping session with this flavor pick up a 510 or 901 atomizer and a GotVapes Pump-Cart :)

Great review! I always blow through stuff so quickly moving on to the next thing I never get a real chance to do a consumer reports style long term road test :)

Question, on the Revolution, were you actually able to feed it from the bottle, or did you just use it as kind of an odd shaped battery? :)

Thanks,

I didn't try to feed it with the Revolution. Just used it as a battery in this case.

I wouldn't try to bottom feed a CE2....it'd gurgle for sure with a pipe that long.

Ok, that's pretty much what I was thinking. I was trying to figure out if I was missing something :) Pretty much if it actually make it to the coils (maybe in a standard CE2), you'd just end up pushing it past the gasket and into the mouthpiece I'd think.

Indeed...
I'm amazed at how well the Revolution fits a hand...and how light it is...having the rounded edges makes it feel less like a box mod and more like a couple of round batteries side by side (yet shorter).

It doesn't feel odd at all...and it's nice to be able to get away from whatever is in the feeder with a carto like the Maxomizer without pulling all that out or changing bottles. I'm tempted to get another Darwin and put its guts in one of these LOL. I saw somewhere a chrome plated one...not sure if it's plated plastic or some kind of metal tho'.

I'm not so moddingly inclined, but I've often thought after seeing inside the revo, it's got 2 batteries, lots of space, and a few unused holes in the case. Probably a lot of opportunity to put a dial and a voltage regulator in there and make it a VV mod.

Yeah, someone with the know-how to order the right stuff could do MUCH with one of these as the chassis. I hear some of the semi-conductor companies will send you a one time evaluation unit or two of the regulators and stuff to try out. If it's safe to stack the batteries in these things (throw the load from one into the other...doubling the voltage) instead of running them parallel...there ya go...just need a reg and a dial. Guess that drops it to 750mah...but it's a start till ya get bigger batteries for it, or pop in another set in parallel or something.

Ramble Ramble.....surprised some modders haven't done something like this already.
