I have 5 different batteries and 5 vortex. Some of the batteries none of the vortex will work , some of the batteries the vortex works sporadically and 2 of my batteries that vortex always works.

So here is my observation. My bateries that the vortex works on are 3.4-3.6 volts. The batteries the vortex will not work on are 3.7-4.2 volts. I beleive the problem with the low ohms vortex is that the current limiting protection circuitry is kicking in. Once my 3.7-4.2 bats dies down to putting out 3.4-3.6 now the vortex works fine. So i would say that those using the 808's and have the higher voltage are having that problem. Also on the Passthrus, the USB hub in a computer also has a current limiter.

808 users need a vortex with 2.6-3.0 ohms for the best results IMHO

I wonder if that's why i'm burning them up? granted, it's only a 3.7v mod, but it could be.

I've tried 3 of the 5 new Vortex 2.0s. The first three taste BAD so I'm scared to put any of my juice in the other two. I could put it in a regular carto and not have to worry about it tasting yucky. Any ideas what's causing this problem or how to cleam 'em?

That's the boat I'm in. i have 2 new ones left. the first 3 started out great and went south about halfway through.

My Vortex 2's are doing pretty good. Out of 3 - 2.2 Ohm and 2 - 3.5 Ohm, one had difficulties with dry hits. There's been some mild leakage, but otherwise, they're doing okay.

For cleaning, I've used PGA and a Turkey Baster with a clear tube adapator. I run about 5 - 1/2 Turkey Basters of PGA through them and then air many times. Let dry for a while.

Got a pack of Vortex a couple of weeks ago. Some of my friends got them too. I have 6 batteries and 3 passes. Most will only work on one battery. I traded some CE2s for Vortexes with my friends because they don't like the way they leak a little. I found that some of the Vortexes that I got in trade work on batteries that others will not. I think it might be a mixture of older Vortex and newer Vortex. I found that the ones with the greenish stuff on the bottom work with other batteries. They all seem to leak a little. It seems that after refilling them, when you push the top down, it creates pressure inside the Vortex causing it to flood. If I don't push the top on all the way, it doesn't flood so much.

My 4th Vortex 2.0 works good. When I got these, I thought I had THE BEST. After trying them, and the first three failing horribly, I felt like I had been taken for a nice little ride. Then last night for some reason, I grabbed the 4th one out of the package and filled it with Arctic Menthol. And after the third hit, it still tastes good, well, ok. Here's my take on 'em now (out of 5): Taste=3.5, Vapor=5, TH=3. If it wasn't for the amount of vapor these things make and the abilility to see how much juice I have, I'd go with the regular Boge 2.7ohm cartomizers that I had been using. I find that if I wait a good long time in between hits, and take kinda short, soft draws, it works good. I'm scared that if I hit it like I want to that it'll burn.
Oh, thanx Cool_Breeze. That's pretty much what I had been doing but didn't know if there was more I could do.

UPDATE:

It's been a month and a half since my first experience (page 10). I still have 3 left and I'm going to give these Vortex 2.0 another whirl. Filled it let it sit for a minute or so. Screwed it onto my 7.4v Indulgence. Took a good hit, exhaled… DAMN, I forgot how clean tasty, and warm these hit. I'll be crossing my fingers and hoping this ONE will be my lucky one and not end up leaking.

Wish me luck :)

I've tried a few and shared some out of that box with friends to try.

I got the LR kind (1.5ish Ohms) with the intent to break out my 808 mini batteries and see how they do.

I guess I got lucky because I LOVE the flavor, draw, and Throat Hit. Mine hasn't leaked a bit after about 3ml of liquid gone through it. It's a 70PG/30VG/7nic mix, medium colored liquid (Got Vapes Flux Nectar Candy Cane). The same liquid in other cartos is already nice...in the Vortex it's stellar! Much more full...both the sweet and the spice come through better.

The Draw on these is much better (looser) than the Vortex 1!

I did find that some of my 'newer' shorty (100-150ish mah) KR808 batteries won't run the LR Vortex 2 at the resistance that I selected. The mofset switch in them just doesn't like anything below 2 Ohms. My older shorty KR808 batteries (both auto and manual) fire it like a champ. On my long versions (auto batteries from 200-300ish mah) of the KR808-D1, both older and newer models ran the carto no problem. I love the new mouthpiece...even if you get a thinner liquid that comes up and down the inner tube with your draw, this mouth piece keeps it out of your mouth and doesn't let things gurgle.

There are so many good cartos out now days and they all bring out different flavors in different ways.
So, would I make the Vortex my 'goto' carto? If I were into the KR808-D1 small battery platform as my only/primary vape, I just might find myself reaching for a Vortex more than 90% of the time.

I'm pretty sure I'll keep some of these in my inventory.
Decent little cartos that are super easy to use.

When I had my Vortexes and they started to conk out on me, I did a little tinkering with the ones that tasted burnt. I pulled off the tubes and noticed that glue was on the wicks, basically it was burnt because the glue was cutting off the flow of juice. I took an old Fluxomizer tube trimmed it to the original Vortex tube length and slid it on one that had no glue on the wick that was clean, and also was the one that worked the best. It worked fine 5 fills till the day I was flushing it and dry burning and forgot to pay attention to what voltage that I had it set at (5.6). Fried that one good. If you have a dead Fluxo try that tube on it.

My take, ditch the glue and go with the same tubes as Fluxos and that would instantly solve the dry wicking, burnt taste problem. Oh, and have the factory fix the wide variations in the ohm readings that a lot of people reported.
