Hey all;

So, I finally won my first contest here on the ECF, snagging a 10mL bottle of Gourmet Flavor Creations' "German Chocolate Cake" in the process. I figured I'd throw up a review so you all would know what's up with this particular flavor.

Prerequisite Information: This flavor was mixed per my liking, 50/50 PG/VG @ 18mg, tested on a VK with fully-charged battery and a clean, empty blank. Also tested on an E9 with same charged battery and empty blank, direct-dripped onto my DSE103, and I had my mom try it on what *was* my 510 that she took home! :)

Flavor (10/10): The German Chocolate Cake's flavor is a very complex one, and it really depends on *how* you vape it as to what kind of flavor you're going to get. When I vaped it on a carto, I was definitely able to make out the coconut and caramel flavoring...On any device I dripped it on, the taste immediately reminded me of something from a cookout. Not sure what, exactly...And that's not a bad thing...Just reminded me of cookout food, made me wanna fire up my grill and throw on some burgers! No matter how I vaped it, I couldn't taste the chocolate. Either that, or what I was tasting *was* the chocolate and my taste buds are just too ......ed to know any better.
It was the first thing I dripped on the 510 that came in the mail that same day, and as such I had my mom try it...She told me what the flavor was without even knowing! My mom's senses of taste and smell are still dull from 30 years of smoking, yet she knew that it was German Chocolate Cake without even looking at the bottle. One thing I did notice: I left some of this to age, dripped a few drips in an atty and sealed it up to vape whilst I did this review, and I can *certainly* taste the chocolate now. This juice tastes soooo much better with age, I recommend anyone who gets it to let it sit for a week and then vape it.

Vapor (10/10): While everything I get is 50/50 mix, not everyone's 50/50 is the same. GFC's juice produces a very good amount of vapor no matter which device I vape it on, nice thick clouds that linger for a few before dissipating into thin air. The vapor isn't as thick as what I'm used to, yet still enough to make me smile and go "oooooh, look at the pretty clouds!!"

Throat Hit (3/10): I know, I know...you're thinking, "three, huh??"...Maybe I'm being a bit unfair here, but I couldn't feel *squat* as far as TH is concerned. Only when I vaped the ever-loving wholey crap out of it was I able to feel a TH, and I'm attributing said sensation to the heat of the vapor rather than the juice itself. Granted, it is a 50/50 juice, so a reduction in TH is to be expected...however I only vape 50/50 for the most part, and my throat is accustomed to knowing what a good TH off 50/50 juice should feel like, and this just didn't have any noticable TH. However, this juice isn't an all-day vape. I find that this juice is a good "pacifier vape" with a cold beer. Not all juices are good with a beer, but the pair of German Chocolate Cake and Bud Light are a match made in heaven.

Miscellaneous information: So, I did win this juice, completely free...But I want everyone here on the forums to know that any review I do is completely unbiased in any way, shape, form, manner, ideal, or reason. Nobody's greasing my palm, scratching my back, or otherwise...and even if that were the case, I would still be telling people exactly what I think of stuff. If I think something's amazing, I won't shut up about it. If I think something's "eh", then my review will likely reflect that. Regardless, I'm not gonna hype stuff if I really don't think it's that great, I've nothing to gain from that at all. Just want my friends here on ECF to have as much information as possible so that we're all more able to spend our hard-earned dollars in the most wise of manners.

Take care all, and happy vaping!! :D

nice review! :thumbs:

i'm kind of in the same boat as CaptJay. a bigger TH on some juices are a little too harsh for me, so i don't mind it when there isn't much of one. i prefer that heavy feeling in the throat when inhaling thick vapor (it's probably why i love VG based juices) since it's much more satisfying to me.
