You're welcome. I figured those 0mg samples should go to someone who will appreciate them :)

Not necessary for you to send anything. That's not why I did it.

Let me know how the koh gen do works for you.

KOH is an abbreviation for a bar here and my phone automatically capitalized it. I think I've text that too many times. :p
I definitely appreciate them. I love the little AIV samples. Especially now that I have my Mini Protank. They fill it about twice. I tried the cotton already and immediately got a weirdness in the back of my throat when I pulled it through the coil... However... doing my method I had mentioned previously where I use the cotton more like a sponge and sit it under the wick, with the ReadyWick through the coil... That I didn't have an issue with. So far. Flavor is good as well. We shall see.

I'm thinking about trying this stuff again. I'm not sure why I had a hard time before. I sent some out to someone else this morning and it made me want to give it another go.

Lotta chatter over the last day about batteries.

AW DOES NOT produce a flat top 18650. If you have one it is a "Fake".
90% of the AW 18650 button top batteries are also "Fakes". If you bought one off ebay, and it wasn't from Wonderlite (one of only a few that import genuine AW's), it is most likely a fake.

Photo below has a fake at the bottom, and a current genuine at the top.
A fake AW many times has a similar sticker as a genuine.
AW previously used a black background on the sticker, with a silver border and silver letters. But, companies started faking this sticker.
My most recent genuine AW's have a silver background with black letters (top battery in photo)

As for batteries in general. For flat top 18650's I HIGHLY recommend the Sony VTC5. It's the best battery out there for mech mods. True 30amp, and 2600mah capacity. It is a great battery for "Any" build.

For Mod's requiring an 18650 button top, these are usually going on regulated mods, so thought the genuine AW 18650 is going to be the best battery for the mod, there are many other batteries that will perform. Almost all batteries are made at the same factory in China, and that includes: Sony, MKE, Orbtronics, Panasonic, eFest, etc. etc. etc.

For 18350 flat top's (For Mech Mods), I recommend the purple eFest 700mah 10amp battery. This battery will fire safely down to a .5 Ohm build.

I haven't personally used Orbtronics, but have heard good things about their batteries also. The 35amp (supposed) eFest Purple 18650's, didn't rate out as high as eFest is touting them. And I have heard of one instance from someone I personally know, that had one vent on him. (Though it was a very low sub Ohm build).

I have AW's and Sonys..I prefer these though.

It wasn't difficult at all for me to use. I already had a coil built so I just cut a tiny portion, halved it (was too thick) and rolled it between my fingers to make a cylinder shape. Then I threaded it through. I don't do microcoils though... So if you do, it may be more difficult. Idk

Yes, I mentioned the Efest Purple's. The only problem I have with them is eFest rate's them higher than they actually pull.
And the one guy that had one vent on him. But, there is always the chance of a bad battery also. I have used several with no issues whatsoever. But, still prefer the new Sony VTC5 for a flat top.
My biggest concern is with several of the friends here in this thread moving into mech mods, I want everyone as safe as possible, regardless of Ohm on their build. :)

Around 3:00, he's talking about the Milk and Honey liquid that xXxLEONIDASxXx recommended.

They are 3.7 volt. The same as the other 18650's. The difference is that they have more mAh (think of it as a larger gas tank) and are designed to take a large and fast (high amp) drain, for sub-ohming and similar activities.

They will likely come off of your charger reading 4.0-4.2 volts, as most of the 3.7v batteries do, until they start to get old.

That's the big allure of the VV / VW mods that regulate voltage (the Provari and the Hana Mods for example). They can take a 3.7 battery and maintain a stable higher voltage for your atty.

The DNA30 mods that are the latest greatest thing right now can run 7 to 30 Watts at 4 to 8 Regulated Volts. This results in a massive instantaneous amperage draw that is just plain unsafe to do with anything but these types of "high drain" batteries.

what are 5's? as far as 18650 batteries go, 5 volts?

(for the Nemesis clone)

For those having problems rebuilding their own protank heads if you would like help via Skype or FaceTime, I pretty much have it down to a science. I never have flooding or dry hits. making your own flavor wicks if you are flooding can help with this until you get it down. If you have simply overprimed take the bottom off, twist up the corner of a paper towel and soak up whatever overage may be in the chimney.

Thanks for the offer lav...I actually took Rin's advice and went back and, as she said "filled the slit" lol. When I'd wick it before I would trim the wick before I put the chimney on as close as I could so that not much stuck out. This time I let the wick hang out, put the chimney on and didn't try to get it so close and whatever was hanging out I'd just tuck down in the little juice well outside the cup. So far works like a charm.

Ladies:

Every brand has its fans and haters. But, for the most part, the IMR AW's have been the standard for "normal" usage for many many years now (12 and lower watts). They are very dependable and still pretty popular.

When people get to sub-ohming, they typically move up to the Sony, EFest, and Panasonic High Drain Batteries. The Sony VTC4 seemed to be the most popular for the sub-ohmers. But, there is also a large camp of EFest and Panasonic lovers out there too. The VTC5 is Sony's most recent offering and seems to be becoming the new battery of choice for the DNA 30 mod owners.

I also wanted to mention that all chargers are not created equal. I spent $50 on a Xtar VP2 from RTD. My thoughts are that it will more than pay for itself, by prolonging the life of all of my batteries. It also provides me with data on my batteries that lets me know when it's time to replace them and/or if they are on the verge of "fail". By having the additional settings for voltage and amperage to charge at, it accommodates all of my batteries and I can slow charge my batteries at 0.05A to extend their life (or quick charge them in a pinch).

Pila also makes a similar charger, at a similar price, that offers most of this functionality and gets great reviews from its owners.

It wasn't the battery. It was the charger. I only use Sony, Panasonic (favorite) and AWs. (AW I've had the longest and I also like it) The Sonys are fine but read at 3.7 fully charged whereas the Panasonic and AW read 4.1, which lasts longer and performs better in my SVD. So basically, I use the Sonys (30 amps, as is the Panasonic) in my mechanics. No issues in there.
The charger that's been working wonderfully has a hologram sticker at the bottom of it that matches the "N" like logo at the top of the device. I don't remember where I bought it from. There's no name anywhere.

I don't get any of the flavor he got or his wife described....it's just clean, crisp sweet honey, but not even straight honey. It's hard to describe :) I know I said "sweet milk" last night, but it's not even milky...dunno.

Are there any Plume Room discount codes floating around out there? I looked at reddit and didn't see any. My cart if filled and ready for me lol

Agree 100%
The biggest problem with the IMR AW's is 90% of what people end up buying are cheap fakes.

I would suggest people invest in a Nitecore I2 at the minimum. Your battery is only as good as your charger. :)

I absolutely agree Lenexa.

I can pretty much guarantee that anything you pickup from RTD Vapor and/or Provape are genuine. I used to buy all my AW IMR's from Provape (even though they were a tiny bit more expensive) to ensure I was getting the real deal.

Now, I buy all of my batteries and chargers from RTD, for that very same reason. BONUS: RTD tends to be a little bit cheaper than most of the other sites I would feel comfortable using.

I simply don't trust anything electric or electronic from Ebay sellers. Too many hooligans on there now.
