Yep. The problem is that I LIKE the nights. I am NOT a daytime person and never have been. A third-ish shift type job is ideal for me. The problem is that it isn't ideal for anything else. (shopping, relationships, hobbies, etc) *Sigh*
I think our problem is similar to what Sirius was describing. When we're napping/sleeping during the day, we aren't focused on sleeping and it comes easier. When I try to sleep for the evening, there's this pressure to fall asleep because I have some commitment the next day/same day. (work usually)

Completely agree with you there. I hate waking up early! But at same time like you said it would be nice to have an actual "life", minus the shopping of course. I feel that pressure sometimes even sleeping during the day though. Hour one way to/from work for me and when off in the morning, I don't want to sleep. I have to force myself to sleep in order to be able to function at work that night. Recurring vicious circle and I hate the hours, but at least I rarely have to be up early mornings.

By shopping I just mean regular shopping. (I'm not one of those girly girl, must shop type people) But, say, for instance, I want to go to Home Depot (like I've been wanting to for a while) they close at like 9pm-10pm... While I'm still at work (and I'm not getting up early) Not to mention that there isn't one close to me. Or the candy store to pick up a specialty item I can't get anywhere else. They close same time and aren't close. Or thrifting. Same deal. Grocery shopping is no big deal because there's a 24 hour Walmart not too far away and a food chain store closer to me. It's just everything else that's a hassle. Then on my days off, since I have nothing planned, I'll usually sleep in way too late.

Finally bit the bullet and placed an order with Open Source. I ordered the Mojito and Toka Cola (it was a toss about between it and Twisted... I have a love/hate relationship with both Cola and anise in vapes) I haven't had much luck with Organic juice/VG juice. Free State Vapor is actually pretty good but everything else I've tried was crap... but for the deal. I couldn't pass up trying Open Source... Especially considering the owner. He seems like a pretty cool guy and like he actually cares about his customers.

The place I work at is doing the same thing. They just hired yet another driver (unnecessarily) because they'd rather pay 10 part time drivers than have 8 part time and 1 approaching full time. It's ridiculous.

That's crazy :ohmy::vapor:

I wonder why I've been OD'ing on TPR Peanut Butter Creme Pie and Banana Pudding lately. Seriously can't put either of them down. Fill one Dripper and the other and vaping away rotating each. YUM!!!!

I seriously banana pudding-ed myself out. I can't even stand to taste it or any other bananas any more. Which makes me sad because I really liked banana vapes. Hope I get over it soon.

I do it all the time. I have found that using 32 guage works the best. Even if you get the ohms right with other widths, it just doesn't seem to vape well. I imagine it's because the wire is thicker and maybe gets to hot. (I get a burnt taste on anything lower than 32 guage) Wicking is a PITA too. Too much and you get dry hits/burning. Too little and gurgle and spit City. No bueno.

I use 7 wraps of 30 on a small screwdriver I have works great and u don't need so many wraps that you have to worry about potential short from coil touching the side.

It's a shame that the doctors won't give you a prescription to help you sleep, I've suffered from panic attacks since my late teens/early 20's. It was when I was 41 years old that a compassionate doctor gave me medicine to provide relief.

Mine were so bad that I stuttered a lot, I mean like excessively. Plus broke out in sweats during times of stress.

Problems gone on Day One of treatment, all of them & the cost is very low for medicine. However, not all doctors wants to consider nerve or anxiety medicine. Now I need it for the muscle spasms caused by my failed back surgery, but in higher doses.

Cat

That's what I take for sleep in very low doses, it doesn't always work but it does better than anything else, it isn't strong enough to knock me out or make me groggy 12 hrs later. Most of the meds I've tried either work too good, as in fall instantly into a 10 hour coma and groggy for hours after or don't work at all. This has been my happy medium as best I've found and I've tried all OTC stuff and about 20 rx I've had this problem my whole life. Watching my 9 yo suffer with it is heartbreaking though. I can watch him and I know exactly what's happening, poor thing can't make his brain shut up, and I can't really do anything. He has a very mild medication (different from mine) but like so many for me it just doesn't seem to phase him and I'm not willing to put him on the medication merry go round yet.

Percocet is an Opiate and yes the feeling is AMAZ but they are highly addicting and will have a hold of you in no time. HARD to kick the habit. One of the few things I have not been addicted to only because I had other favs and by the time the Opiate craz came around again I was hard into RECOVERY but had/have a lot of friends that went down the Opiate road and are now attached to the Methadone Clinic. STAY FAR AWAY from the opiates

I've been on prescription medication but after the bad run-in with one, I am afraid to try anything new. Besides that, I really don't want to be dependent on a sleep medication to sleep. At one point I had to take Tylonol PM every night to sleep. Problem with that is I still woke up groggy and sometimes with a horrible migraine. Nyquil stopped working after a while. (I understand you're not supposed to take them everyday but I have to sleep) The Simply Sleep or whatever doesn't work, along with most other sleep aids. Melatonin didn't work (haven't tried in a while though, Will try again soon) Valarian root didn't work and made me feel weird. Percosets work wonders but are not easy to get. (I only found this out because I was prescribed them when I got my wisdom teeth pulled... those things are amazing)

Try emptying your mind on paper, quickly in a few notes, to what ever is ruminating in your head and vowing not to revisit the thoughts, every time the thoughts come back you block them and only think about good things, any place you can take your mind that gives good memories, soft memories, gentle memories, get in one comfortable position and resist the urge to toss and turn, focus on the gentle memory
It's still called insomnia, regardless of the reason... And that's what happens with me. I'll be so tired but I just keep thinking about crap... tossing and turning. It's ridiculous.

Amazing feeling huh? I fail to understand that. I had to stop OTR because a state worker putting out cones for road work pulled out in front of my Freightliner and I had to ditch the truck to keep from killing him. Wrenched my back up and broke my right knee. The doctors have been prescribing me pain killers for years. Even taking them as directed, they only just barely kill the pain,(and I can't stand that doped feeling) I get regular back injections of cortisone,( a series of 8 to 10 shots) in my back every 3 months. Knee too.
I think the problem is that yes, they have a high potential for abuse. But taken as directed will relieve a lot of pain. And you won't get into trouble that way. I really only take what they have prescribed (Norco) when absolutely needed. Sometimes it works. Sometimes not. lol

Reading def does it for me

I turned my insomnia into a positive thing. Watched more movies. Read more books. The days just had more hours to them. After some time, my thinking changed about not being able to sleep and it was just "how it was"

nowadays, I can actually grab 6-7 hours of sleep semi-regularly
