Update: Getting closer on the build for my Spheroid. Tore it down and wrapped a 1.6 on provided wick material w/ 30g. It is no longer burnt tasting like it was before. Vapor is hit and miss really; sometimes clouds, sometimes not. Flavor is on point. I got it setting on my satin Provari @ 3.7v, mainly because the bead blasted finish matches the satin finish of the ProV well. I did notice when I examined the wick after vaping for a few, that one of the ends is frayed and not exactly "perky". Straightened it out, and made sure it was shooting up into the filler. Seems to be going well for the moment. Maybe I was chain-vaping?

Glad your getting there Digi. That would seem to be the right set up. Are you doubling the wick? Is it a loop with tails? Whatever it is make sure that it isnt too big and all jaimmed up funny around the air tube.
Even if I am using 3mm eko the tails or ends are short and follow the sides up of the tube to the filler. Remember it just needs to be touching the filler.
2nd thing is make sure your filler is fluffy and you can at least but a big pin, small paper clip, syringe, etc.. into the wool so that the flow of juice easily gravitates to the wick.

Oh my 3mm or 4mm eko (much larger in diam than silica) unfrays like hell but no matter as it vapes well. When I fill the tank I just straighten a bit. BUT REMEMBER SHORT TAILS!

Last thing buddy, get that filler nice and full the first time. The juice will wick better each time as it creates a nice flow pattern.
:)

Short tails--Roger that! I sat it down for a sec, came back, grabbed it and vaped, hitting nice now. I think maybe I was going nuts when I first set it up?

I followed the build on Scott's review. Cut my tails down to 12mm(1/2")

Slight difference between the ekowool vs cotton in aftertaste. Flavor is great, but I can taste a hint of the wick material. Very subtle though, not enough to groan about it, and it's not every time.

Big thanks to you ID, Q, Raq, and whoever else was badgered by my inabilities! :D

Big thanks to King P for pumping out quality product!

i am having problems with my spheroid to. i keep getting hot legs and have tried all i can with this. maybe some no resistance wire will help with this. was working good till i refilled it this morning and everything went to crap after that. after 4 configurations im using cotton ball right now and its working. i think taller nuts with slots cut for a screw driver in the top would help to get shorter legs so i dont get hot spots. my fingers are too big to hold the wire and screw the nut down while keeping the slack out of the legs. flavor is still nowhere near what my kayfun is. sucks when you get a new toy and can get it to work like you know it should :-x

Wish I could be of some help to you, but you witnessed my failures in previous posts. Did you say you're using cotton for wicking in the Spheroid?

im sure time will help but i want it to work NOW  and yes im using cotton ball now. tried ekowool, nextel and silica but seems i cant seem to get it to work.

I thought about running cotton, but I was worried the cotton tails wouldn't hold their position against the wall.

Finally completed the setup. SnP tank. My Diver is in the mail from Spain so it's just a LR carto for the moment. Atmistique drip tip topping things off.

it doesnt pop out like silica does. i have a lasso style where i rolled some cotton ball and pulled it through the coil folded. it gets laid over on top of the post and holds position well. when i take it out for filling i straighten it and run it along the wall as i twist it so it gets re-seated over the post. cotton also hepled with my leaking issue or it hasnt leaked since i put cotton in it anyways.:p

3-4 wrap on a machine screw at 1.9ohms. its work good but i get a light hit every now and then. when it does that i take off my atty and snap my wrist and it works good again. maybe got too much sera wool packed in for 50/50 juice.

Let me think. I'm on my physical therapy trip and am in and out.

But, hot legs speak to me that the leg is too long. Check the direction of your post wrap and I would bet you sushi in Japan that if it were wrapped the other direction it would shorten up as it would hug the wick better.
At first it takes some thought when attaching to the post just look before wrapping post and raising the wick up...how will it stand?

Attaching wick at a diagonal will solve these issues sometimes!

One of the pros of silica/cotton material is that hot spots usually aren't issue but hot legs occasionally.
Thicker juice = less wool. Just fluff a thinner piece into a rectangle and insert.

Try and put the cotton away for a bit until comfortable than bust it back out, easier to eliminate issues. :)

Evening fine folks. Quick question regarding the spheroid. I am getting on quite well with this little gem, except I desire a bit more airflow. I inspected the air inlets on the 510 post, and did find a small metal burr that I was able to remove with a few pokes of a paper clip. That helped a bit, but is there a way to increase the airflow, even if just a bit?

Here's a picture for your ogling pleasure :D

No res wire is much more pliable than res wire and may make the problem worse when refilling. Moving of the wicking tails while screwing and unscrewing the tube could cause the coil to move. As bro Idaho said, The length of the tails is very important to the consistency of the Spheroid and many problems after a refill can be traced back to them being too long. Believe me, the Spheroid will become one of your most consistence, easiest and quickest builds. Until then, you could try what helped me in the beginning: When you refill and before you screw the tube back on, slide a needle through the center of wick and coil and move to adjust the coil so it is not touching anywhere. This should give you the same vape you had before the refill. Stay with it my friend, the Spheroid is worth it....GL

Nice AJ!
The easiest way is to build the coil and wick higher over the center airhole on the base.
Make sure and occasionally run water over the holes and blow to remove juice that may of crept in.
