Quick Q..

I have a tiny scratch on my Brushed Paps 2.5 and my OCD is saying I want it gone!

It's not noticeable unless it's held at the right angle and in the right lighting but I saw it and now my eyes can't unsee it even though it's micro and a normal person would never even see it.

Does the brushed surface on the Paps create any special polishing requirement? I was going to use some regular ole' SS non abrasive metal polish on it but figured I had better check before I start rubbing away!

Thanks!

I'd leave it as it is, b'coz any abrasion and that 'brushed finish' may fade/disappear and u may have an overtly shiny spot. That is unless u intend getting the whole device a polished finish.:2c:

Get the polishing posts from vapour art or sacrifice a carto and chuck either up on a power drill/press.

If you have a variable speed, low medium worked best for me.

A light touch should buff out a scratch.

A gouge, like I got on my lux 500, requires 400 grit to take the metal off. I like the brushed looked, so I left it, but a follow up with 1000+ grit and a metal polishing will get you back to a high gloss.

That is exactly what I am concerned about. The brushed finish appears to be a very light coating..

Don't laugh but here are a few photos of the scratches. I had to zoom in close and put the Paps in the right lighting to even see them.

@rb: My eyesight must be really weak - I yet don't see any speckle/s on those photos :)

It's my scratch OCD in full effect!

Sadly once my eyes have seen, it can't be unseen! LOL

I think I will just rub-a-dub it down with a cape cod cloth and call it a day. I can't imagine a cape cod cloth causing issues..

I tend to surface scratch my mods also. It is pretty hard not too unless you wear white gloves and place your mod on a fluffy silk pillow stuffed with unicorn pelt.
I really like not to think of these as display models that sit on a shelf for no one to see or enjoy. They are for use and enjoyment and character makes it "your own".
A nice polish every 3-6 months seems to be my routine and I am a big fan of Autosol products. Metal Care

Their polish is the best and removes surface scratches beautifully. I would recommend as many, the metal polish, a soft rag and just a little bit of time and you will be impressed.

Cool!

Getting ready to order the SS polish from them..

#1734 - Autosol Stainless Steel Polish - 75ml Tube

I assume it's fine to use on the brushed surface.

Gonna add this to my vape Arsenal. Is it okay on all metals?
