It takes very little of the Autosol to do a very nice job. Just make sure that you are polishing with the grain of the tube. For sealer, it isnt necessary but, I just use a high end auto wax from Italy (cuz I have it) but, any would work. Not even needed but, I do it because I like the feel of soft metal and my obnoxious case of OCD that I carry. Most of us established this about ourselves a few weeks ago and accepted the fact that that is the reason we all love the GP!

batteries FINALLY came last night, got a decent microcoil build on the AC9 so finally got to use the Paps tubes last night and today. LOVIN them!! coming from a Provari standard, I love the smaller form factor and looks. I am mostly surprised at the battery life. I'd typically go through 2 - 2-1/2 18490 batteries on the Provari throughout a typical work day (I get to vape all day at my desk!!) and the Paps with the smaller 18350 battery with ~ a 1.5 oHm coil on the AC9 is lasting just about as long. changed out the first battery right around the time I usually did with the Provari, on my 2nd battery now and no signs of dyin yet. :) VERY happy with my new stuff!! can't wait for the kayfun to get here!!

Now if I can just find out which way the grain goes!

okay so this might sound really dumb right now but ive been trying to build my spheroid and i just keep getting a hot button so im guessing a short?. so i took off the coil and when i fire it up, it seems that the spheroid is also firing up but without a coil???? what am i doing wrong here?

I don't have a spheroid myself but it definitely sounds like a short. If you measure the resistance of the atty at the 510 connector, without a coil, are you getting a reading? If so, what is it?

If the meter gives a reading, you have a short...

If the meter says "OL" (open leads) then the short isn't in the atomizer.

Does the PV get hot if you fire it without an atty? If so, there is a short in the PV itself.

If the PV is normal and the atty is reading "OL" when tested, my next guess would be that the pos pin in the atty is pushed up into the atty's 510 connector, allowing the pos pin of the PV to go up inside the atty and is making contact with the outer wall.

okay this is weird. My Paps was getting hot when the spheroid was on top while pressing the button WITHOUT a coil on it and the spheroid was making a sound like there was liquid inside it. I didnt even know that it can fire up without a coil built.

Paps wasnt getting hot when there wasnt anything on top.

okay so i got it to work but now my problem is the flavor seems pretty muted. any suggestions? would too much sera wool be my problem?

comparing the same build that i have with my kayfun lite, with the super 8 wick, the flavor on the kayfun is 10x better. what am i doing wrong?

seems to be wicking okay...

i have the same problem. my favorite flavors do not perform as well in my spheroid as they do in my kayfun. it did get better after couple refills but still not as good as the kayfun. the best performance i get out of it is within the first couple puffs after a refill. im using ekowool now but i think i will go back to cotton. cotton seems to hold more liquid at the coil and give a better taste. i think i will get it eventually but for now the kayfun is my go to till i get more time to play after i start my new job and get moved.

Usually the shorts happen to the atomizer, not to the mod except if your battery is peeled off.

If the Spheroid creates shorts with the bell and when you unscrew it stops, then the positive post touches the bell.

Check if the unit has all the insulators intact, especially the 510 insulator.

8 to 10 cases of muted flavour after the first good puffs have to do with hot legs and wire not touching the wick or uneven coils.

The rest is related with the quantity of the filler material, the position of the coil regarding the air hole and the wick and how clean is the interior of the base.

i really appreciate the input even though i feel like a party pooper. im not giving up on it and hope to get a solid set-up. took me a while before i could get a solid repeatable set-up on my kayfun and i think i am just falling back on it. old habits are hard to break lol

Meh, your fine. It can be a bit of a learning curve as any new device. You will get it. Just hang about and ask anything you need too.
Enjoy your Kayfun and work a bit on the Spheroid, you will get it in time and then understand.
Even the members that are now setting it up correctly will find better ways to enjoy it as time passes.
I am working on a wick that I believe the cotton lovers will enjoy because of recent conversations we have had.
Soon, everything will click and you will be setting it up in minutes and at that point you will get why the flavour is so much better than the others. Although, I only stick to mostly tobacco flavours and GVC, I test many and have found none that the flavour doesn't POP.

I've done about 10 builds on my 2 Spheroids, and each build has been better than the last. Every atty takes many, many attempts before I really settle on a build that squeezes out the flavor and vapor potential.

I would check that you aren't wrapping the coil too tight around the wick. My OCD makes me wrap the wire too tight on all my builds, it takes effort to leave it a bit loose so as not to choke the wick. Tight coil is very forgiving on my Divers, but NOT on my Kayfuns and my Spheroids.

I am just the opposite unfortunately. I get a new device and my first build comes out stellar! Then goes down hill from there, even when I use the exact same technique. This has been a fairly recent issue with Diver, Kayfun, Ithaka and Olympus. I hope I can get it straightened out tho. It's frustrating.

I rephrase it to be better comprehended by others in the future :)
Pull the rectangle piece out of the button, the forth item counting from left to right, and screw it inside the other side of the second item, the base switch. Put the button, while you have placed the spring around its firing pin, under the base switch. Then from above, put the screw inside the firing pin and voila!

I'm still on this issue :( can't seem to be able to get the rectangle piece out.. I've seen somewhere that putting it into the freezer and then trying to pull the piece out under hot water may help. I tried once already and it didn't work. Will try once more shortly, but if I fail are there any other ways you can think off? Thank you.

The freezer method has been suggested for another case in which threads were involved. You can screw slowly the switch base upon the locking rectangle and you are done. The locking rectangle is just sitting around the square base of the firing pin, there is no threading there.
