If i were a guessing man, I would assume the issue is wthin your switch. As the button being brass is going pocess the lowest resistance thus heating up faster. Disassemble the switch, examine and clean contact points and spring, even if brand new, as partcles may have settled.
I have heard of the issue with other high end mechs but not with the PAPS. I chain vape all of mine and they hit hard, never having this issue.

Mine has no spring....:glare:

I was wondering when I got it if I was supposed to have one, but thought nothing of it since it worked so well. I use aw imr nipple top batteries exclusively...350 and 650 modes. Should there be a spring in there? All there is in the bottom cap is the switch and a nut it screws into inside of the polished ss cap.

Yeah, just did it, no spring. :/ And the first time I took it apart when I got it, there wasn't one. I was surprised to not see one at first, but didn't say anything because of the quality of the device and how well it was working, and still is working. The button has always felt a little wonky, but it's my first bottom fire button mod. I guess I should talk to perseas about this?

Man I really can't see how I lost that spring. I unscrewed everything on my desk, under an observation light, without anything else around. I'll talk to Pers and see what they can do, but would a spring from say, my Natural, fit? going to test this now, I want to see how much better it will make this PAPS.

Doubt it. PAPS springs are much more delicate for the best and smoothest operation. He also has perfected the resistance within the switch to include the spring as one of the variables . I have some for spares I think and can send one out potentially. Did you unscrew the center nut so the switch was in 3 pieces? Button, button housing and locking ring?

Yeah, many times now...no springy. The same thing I did when it first arrived.

I swear there wasn't a spring but I believe that if they're tested before leaving the shop (and I'm sure they are) that I was at fault and somehow lost it. Bad part is, I vacuumed yesterday, so there is no chance of finding it if it WAS on my floor. :(

Hi Perseas,

I have a new Piccolo and I think my switch has a small problem. At first (see prior post here) I had a difficult time getting the Piccolo setup correctly such that it did not just fire constantly without pushing the button. I did get that solved by reading the threads here and adjusting both the top and bottom screws.

however, the locking mechanism seems to have a problem. When I very gently turn the switch to lock position then back to unlock position there is a small "grinding" feeling in the switch. I thought that maybe a tiny piece of grit, dirt or metal shaving may be in the threads somewhere in the switch so I disassembled the switch, put all the parts in grain alcohol washing all the parts carefully then reassembled the switch. Same problem. Also, about every 10th to 15th time I turn the switch to the unlock position, the switch gets "locked" where I am unable to turn the switch to the lock button positon. In other words, the switch is locked into the unlocked position.

I thought maybe the switch just needed to be gently turned to the unlocked, locked, unlocked, locked & etc postion maybe to "break in" in the switch. I've been sitting here very gently turning the switch back and forth (lock, unlock) for about 30 minutes now. It still has the small grinding feeling near the unlock position and still locks into the unlock position randomly..

Any suggestions on what I should do?

I'll send you a replacement part for the switch, send me please a pm with your address detail. These parts are under production right now, in 15 days I'll have hem ready.

Give me your order number mate, I'll send you a new spring, the units are checked before shipping, but a human error or omission once in a while could happen.

Perseas, my order # was 2690. I really appreciate your offer pers, just more proof of your amazing customer service.

As I said, it works great right now, which is why I didn't immediately say something right away. Don't think I would have honestly known a spring was missing until someone said it.

Thank you again sir.

edit - Will be ordering a few springs and another switch after I get paid next week. Can't hurt to have extras, should have went ahead and got them in the first place!

Perseas makes all other companies look like they simply want your money. Honestly Perseas has the patience a lot of people lack to handle his customers and take care of them. He truly doesn't just want your money, he wants you to be happy, he wants to take care of you and that to me is more important than the product itself. Just so happens the products he sells are of the same caliber he is. Match made in heaven.

Welp my package arrived today, and I'm currently polishing everything so I can really see this baby sparkle and work CORRECTLY now that I have the spring.

I am mainly writing this though, because when I had a problem (possibly my own fault) Perseas made it his DUTY to fix it for me. He, within a few hours after posting here, had a DHL tracking number for me with a new spring on the way! Well today it got here, and I know springs aren't expensive or anything....I mean it's just a spring. When I opened the package, there were 4 springs in there. I am continually amazed by this man and his company.

As I said before, it was just a few springs, but I have NEVER had a company do something like this for me before, and it completely made my day.

Perseas, you are the absolute BEST vendor I have EVER bought anything from. It's no wonder why your fans love you so much...it's hard not to!
