Nope, never. The Heron doesn't have a regular 510, so it cannot be used.

I have an original Hammer and Heron screws there with some wobble, but not in a friend's clone Hammer as we found out. I cannot speak for other Hammers. Qorax, you're right, the threading isn't compatible, although the mention of the 510 connection is irrelevant, you just unscrew the top cap of the Hammer and you put Heron in, if it can be done to yours.

But you 'could' make a new top cap :p

Also it somehow seems odd that your friends have clones.

I haven't clones myself and I have a friend who has bought clones. What do you suggest me to do with him? To hide the facts or deny my friendship? Because both actions would be proved meaningless.

No no , I have no issues with people owning them. Just in my head you and your friends all have amazing vape gear with super low serial numbers and mods that there are only like 25 of ever made.

Though I suppose at the end of the day you're just like all of us , a regular guy with regular friends.

There are many things about clones that people will be shocked for a moment when they hear it for first time, but the majority of them will forget it at once. Like the story of my good friend Frank from Scotland. A very heated discussion followed afterwards and the topic forced to be locked on UKVapers, a very proactive forum against the promotion of clones.

Here it is :

Clones...a personal price.
No...not another ".... hurt elitist" proclaiming the hows and whys of an original being superior to a clone, but rather an "angry, upset and ashamed elitist" relaying a personal tale of exactly why I will never touch anything, vaping-related or otherwise, that emanates from China.

I'm far from naive and have long been aware of the human rights abuses and slave labour practices that have long been a part PRC but, as with most things in life, it only really affects us as it should and makes us take notice when it encroaches into the comfy cocoon of our own lives. I have been working with a vulnerable young Chinese girl for a couple of weeks, in an attempt to try and locate the current whereabouts of her mother. Her mother had been forced into prostitution several years ago and, as a resul,t both she and her young daughter had been sent to a forced labour camp for 18 months - the daughter to a child's camp, her mother to one for adults. The young girl was released several months ago but. unfortunately, there has been no news of her mother since she entered the camp, and neighbours report that she never returned to the family home. As you would expect, the young lassie was extremely withdrawn and it was difficult to gain any information from her about her experiences...until today!

The female interpreter and I were, again, getting very little from the girl when from nowhere she became completely hysterical and visibly terrified and this went on for absolutely ages...the poor wee soul was trembling and in floods of tears. When, she had calmed down slightly, I asked her what was wrong and she pointed at my desk (which was behind me, but facing the girl). All that is on my desk is a computer with the screen switched off), a phone, an in-tray with some paperwork in it...and my vape-kit. Yep, it was my Versa mod/Kayfun combo that had absolutely terrified this wee girl and turned her into an emotional wreck. After some gentle and careful probing, it slowly emerged that one of the "rehabilitation tasks" she and her fellow child inmates underwent was being transported to a "huge shed" each morning to assemble various production items for 18hrs a day for the equivalent of about 20p a day. Most days it was toys or Christmas decorations...but some days it was stuff that looked just like my mod and atty. The young girl then went on to describe the inhumane conditions of "work" and showed us some of the evidence of the beatings within both the shed and the camp.

Although this had been a terribly distressing afternoon for her, she seems somewhat relieved at being able to talk openly about her experiences and it now allows us to refer her to other professionals who are best placed to support and assist her in dealing with the physical and psychological trauma caused by the recent past. It's helped me also because, no matter how much I read or watch about this type of slave labour / systematic child abuse in the the interests of profit...nothing will ever have the sledge-hammer impact of that wee girl's face, her flood of tears or the permanent scars on her body. All my previous criticisms of clones (on the basis of the ethics of theft and its effect on the original modders) pale into trivial insignificance for me personally now.

Today has dramatically reinforced for me the importance that my choices have on others and my conscience will not allow me to be complicit in such obscenities. I know I can't change the situation, but what's important to me is what I CAN do...and that is to ensure that not one single penny of mine will (knowingly) be heading to China. And before some wise-... comments, yes there may be Chinese parts/components in some stuff in my house...I can't change what I've bought in the past but I can promise that if I find any then they're gone. It may not be much, but I will not be party to what that girl went through to save myself a few quid.

... The link to clones is...how ....in ridiculous would I have looked in the eyes of that girl and what what chance of gaining her trust if it had not been a Versa/Kayfun on my desk but one of the ....in clones that she had suffered for in that camp. And what piece of human excrement I would have felt. So, yes, it's not just about Chinese conditions but also about me...and my ability to face that girl at our next meeting knowing that I am not part of the complicit ring of manufacturers/consumers in her suffering and the fact that I will sleep with an easier conscience.

because we are so compliant to honour agreements in which we didn't participate in the first place.

That is indeed a sad fact of life. I'm ok with my iPhones etc because I'm confident that apple makes sure the people that make them are at least treated well (in comparison to other factory jobs in china). But some of the other mass produced inexpensive stuff from china is definitely questionable.

Apple tries to create the MADE IN USA Apple products, many years now and I have a great respect for them.

So nice. I was a 'lovely wife'. My husband, was way too 'macho', to state it publicly. When he got sick, his priorities changed. Then, he was finally willing to tell the world, how wonderful I was. :)

My lovely wife Cindy has many fine points - but the one that slapped me in the face the first time I met her was her aura of calm/content/happy - and I need that in my daily life~! We now routinely complete each other's sentences, as well as many other joined-at-the-hip things.

Sadly, she's gotten the short end of the stick it seems, if I were a horse, I'd have been shot long before now. Maybe someday we can compare 'issues' - but I guess that would take some time...
