OMG was traffic terrible Wed morning. The 405, 520 and I-90 were jammed. I don't go on I5 but I bet that had to be bad too. On the WSDOT maps the city showed black on all main routes in to Seattle. Hope you had a great time, I had to miss the parade due to work and I took Tue off for my B-day.
Traffic was unbearable. Luckily, I worked from home until about 10:30am, then we decided to take the bus downtown. That was an adventure in and of itself. After waiting over 30 min for a bus that usually comes every 15 minutes, one passed us right up because it was full. We walked back to the house, drove to the park and ride, and finally caught a bus. The show was supposed to start at 1, and we got to the stadium at 2:15. Thankfully, the Parade was way behind schedule, and the show in the stadium didn't start until 2:30 or so.
All of that ^ nonsense was absolutely worth it. They estimated close to a million people were in downtown for the festivities (I heard reports ranging from 700K to 1.1M). I hit up a friend who works downtown for a ride back up north, so we didn't have to take the bus home, and we got to peruse around downtown until 6ish. Amazing day!
I hope I didn't miss any important announcements...
