I've been checking on vapourday, too, but hoping it's not until next week (selfishly) since I'm out of town this week for my last trip of the year (boo).

I was a little lit last night and briefly walked away from the bar with my Paps/Heron still sitting on it. You can't believe how fast I made it back there!

The bartenders took quick and immediate care of it which is why I'll be back there tonight after conference duties :)

Try getting that excuse to fly at an AA Meeting. ;)
(Glad you recovered your gear)

Contribute.. That was cute!

I keep medical gloves with my vape stuff. They have not failed me yet. :)

Mine are blue, what color are yours :p

I have a roll of the "knobby" rubber cupboard liner.
It's soft, super flexible, washable, has super grip power, and is cheap.
Beats your rubber bands guys.
Since my hands aren't the best, I have some in the house and garage, to get a grip whenever and where-ever
Cut the size piece you want, and use the rest to line something .. they don't "glue" down, but they don't move or slide either.
Gee's, I finally got to contribute something to the thread

Hi Slots, Welcome to the GP fam :D. I will have to try some of that one day, I have some laying around somewhere.

Just given you d business bruddah. Yep, I see that. I also showed back up yesterday chompin at the GP bit. I think I agree about the X switch. I have a hard time deciding which I like better, the X switch or the PAPS. I am way bias on the PAPS switch because I and a few others got to see the awesome changes but, after a deep clean of the X switches last night.....WOW they kick ....
The toughest question is the favorite between the V2.5 and V3. Again, through the evolution, I still remember staring in Love with the 2.5.
I am going to say that the V3 is as incredible with parallel love from me. I don't think I have an answer on that one. Like mentioned many times, Regardless GP has the rest of the builders scrambling as I read many places that no one can touch the quality build. I agree with that, there isnt a button/switch in the biz even close.

BOMB!

Thanks for another lesson Idaho, I think I may start calling you the GP historian.

I hate to say it but I like my 2.5 switches more. They're all lux's though(or upgraded with lux kit), and my V3's are not. I'm hoping to upgrade them both with the V3 upgrade kit once it's available.

I agree, except that the new version (v3) has one serious goodness ~ the 'screw' in lieu of the erstwhile 'nut'. And that makes dismantling it a lot easier.

This. Truth.

...aaaand while a lot of people don't like the "nubbed" button I love it. It makes sure that the button won't spin when trying to disassemble if stuck. (and if you've ever had a stuck switch button this means a lot to you too I bet.)

Aesthetically I like everything about the V3, but must admit that sometimes the "nubs" will dig into my finger knuckle. Only minor issue (if you can call it that) that I have.

This is real ^. I agree Clifford :).
I love the "advancement of the V3 in regards to the reverse threading. I also feel that is just screams high class. The housing is also more pronounced(girth) which is a big factor for me loving the switch. What I appreciate is that the button, like all of GP still carries it's past into the new design, more than any builder can say. IMO there is no doubt P and the Team could of redesigned the entire switch but, their effort to bring history proudly along with new releases and creations is very respectable.

There is a story to tell with GP and it is much fun for us all to be a part of it witnessing it first time as the GP Family :).

Perseas has told us that the future releases the button edges will be softened a bit. Also if the underside screw is loosening this will highlight "nubs". So make sure the Screw is firmly screwed in.

Great news, guess I missed that one! I was already thinking about making the slight modification myself, sanding the corners on the bottom ring a bit, but now that I hear Perseas is (or has been) working on this I'll wait to see what the master comes up with!

Did I tell you guys already how incredibly great I think the Heron is? Wow, what a device! I'm still not over it :p

It performed very well on me as of day one. Between all the different builds (I guess about 20 or so) I made over the past month, experimenting with different wire types and resistances, loop shapes, wick materials (no KGD yet), coil placement, with/without cap, I was not able to create a real failure. So I feel that the Heron is a very tolerant device, which allowed me to find my preferred build without any problem.

The most noticeable improvement was actually with the fluff size. Although a length of about 6 cm was recommended by Qorax/Chadsmo/Perseas, with my first builds I could not believe that the fluff would hold the liquid up. Using 8 cm of fluff initially I did not get dry hits, but cutting it to 6 cm made a really really big difference (much more than all the other factors I have changed) as the vapor comes out much more saturated with the smaller fluff size (so I had exactly the opposite experience as BILLB told us about some pages ago, guess he uses a thinner juice than my VG liquids). I can imagine that tuning of the fluff size is a factor were beginners in the Heron/Spheroid league can make major improvements.

In brief, after a month of use, I can’t imagine it could be much better than with the Heron!

(now waiting eagerly for VapourDay to get a Spheroid this time, similar performance and nice format for out and about, or better take a second Heron?)

As Idahobro said! I haven't a macro len yet, but if you look closely you can see the differences between the two rings. The next batch of GP PAPS v3 will use the updated ring with more bevelled circumference and slanted edges for the 4 slots where the button rests.
The left locking ring is still unpolished having the machine finish (it'll become softer) and the right one is the previous locking ring.
