Hellooooooo, GP Family :D

Went to the doctor yesterday because I've been having some weird heart issues. He thought maybe it was blood pressure from the last visit I had with him, but now he's thinking that's not it. So now I get to go do a wonderful(sarcasm) 24-hour heart monitoring echo test thingy.

I swear I can't catch a break lol. I'm 24 for crying out loud! I've had more surgeries and medical issues than most elderly people..

Here's to hoping nothing is wrong with me and that they'll let me vape while I'm there, and that this is the last time I have to stay in a freaking hospital.

Everyone that I know that has one runs it the same way that I do for cotton builds and have no problems at all. In fact, I have gone through many tanks since I got mine and this was the first time that I have had this happen. My guess is that the cotton clogged a bit at the coil b/c the part of the wick that goes through the topper all the way down to the coil was clean and soaked. It was the section in the middle of the coil and the tail that were burning and dried out a bit.

In fact, I have read (on here, forget which poster) that using the fluff with cotton has caused dry hits.

While you are welcome to build it anyway you want, the Heron was never designed for a fluffless build. The fluffless build is experimental and was never advertised by the GP team as the build to be used for the Heron. The only reason one would get dry hits with the fluff setup is because there's either too much fluff or the wick is being choked by the coil.

Sorry to hear that Path :( I hope that it's nothing....

Changed my mind about dripping today. I regret not getting the heron while it was still available...

Good Morning fellow GP'ers!! :)

haven't been here since yesterday afternoon, so I have some catching up to do!! :D

I just wanted to say that you guys were absolutely right. Dripping GVC on a low-ohm build is NOT optimal. Last night, I put a 1.2 Ohm Eco-Wool build in my new Prometey, and proceeded to load it up with GVC. Straight away I noticed that the flavor was sweeter, and the custard notes were definitely enhanced. IMO GVC tastes excellent anyway, but I can now see why Grant himself recommends what he does...

The Prometey is no Heron, but it's a great atty in its own right. Definitely a whole different "feel" than vaping with the Heron. For starters, the thing is so light!! I mean it feels like there's nothing to it (that's due to the Ti). It doesn't even feel like there's an atty on top of my mod!! lol....but it vapes very nice. I have mine setup with 3mm Eco-Wool formed into a "Loop", and 28ga. Kanthal. I am using GP Fluff as filler....

All in all I am SO happy that you guys steered me away from dripping GVC!! Thanks very much for the tips!!! :)

Good to hear JP! I will be pre-building a 1.5Ω setup while waiting for my GVC. I still plan on using KGD cotton over silica, though. I know Grant 'recommends' silica, but I have a feeling the increased flavor you're getting is more likely due to the higher resistance and not necessarily the wick. I'll end up trying both wicks to see if I'm right.

Nice! :)

Yeah I have some KGD on the way; should be here by the end of the week....

I chose EcoWool because I wanted something that was 3mm (my silica is 2mm) and it's all I had....even still, the flavor seems to be excellent with the EcoWool...

Yes, I am using no fluff and cotton with concentrator cap(?). Build ver 1.5 (the one with the air slot). And thank YOU for making such a great product!

You're very welcome! The Heron is a 22 mm Spheroid therefore it is designed to be used with a filler material, the fluffless builds are experimentals and suggested by users and reviewers not us. If we wanted to be used as such, we would have putted threading in the body, a different designed topper and base and we would announcing our intentions a priori. GP Heron is not a Tank atomiser but a bigger Spheroid, so when its body is filled with liquid instead of filler with liquid, the internal air pressure is changed and combined with the air slot it produces an intense whistling sound. Try a build with the intended fluff and tell me whether the whistling sound is still in annoying levels or if you have any dry hits. You can't vanish the sound completely when you have the slot wide open and the debate between tight and airy draw is old between Europe and USA. Many people in Europe complained about the v1.5 for being too airy, while others in the States wanted more air :)

Man, I've been searching for a way to get some KGD in Switzerland, but the only way I can get some is to pay $43 for shipping from the US.
It's ridiculous, $12 for the cotton and $43 for the shipping - I refuse to pay $55 for some cotton pads..... Yeah, i know that they are great, but this is nuts.

Wow, no kidding huh? I figured it was available everywhere but I guess not?

Hey man, I hope you can find some for a reasonable price soon!! :)

I'm an American living Europe - and I think the Heron is great (both the v1 and the v1.5). The Spheroid has the tighter draw, but I still love it - just a different type of vape - this is why we buy different atomizers - if every atomizer is the same, would not be any fun :)

Perseas, on a different note, I saw that the Heron GPin spares have the larger pin base (the one that makes contact with the nut and bolt in the base of the Heron) also coated in silver. How well do you think the coating will stand up in the area where it makes contact with the nut and bolt?

Maybe Perseas could look into adding japanese organic cotton to the VapourArt site sometime in the future? Maybe cotton hasn't caught on in Europe yet like it has here. I had no idea that it was so hard to get there.

Not sure where you checked, but you're better off looking at a ladies' cosmetics site, rather than a vapor-type vendor.

Also you could try contacting Koh Gen Do directly and asking about European distributors.

I hope not to be anything serious and I understand now why you chose this nickname, but maybe, just maybe, a more heathy alternative is a better personal seal. Names and words have the power of repetition and this ancient Hellenic word describes everything that happens in the body and soul except health. Forgive my silly observations, things may proved of having simple causes and be quickly cured.
I wish you the best my friend, be a little patient for the test, prevention and check is what it must be done here.

The new GPin base that makes contact with the nut of the Heron is actually made from SS to minimize the oxidation caused by juice making contact with those parts.
