I am currently doing the gradual switch because I am still hung up on the feel of an analogue cigarette but hoping I will be able to completely kick them to the curb soon.

So far I am very impressed with the results from 50 to 4 analogues a day within 2 weeks but can't seem to go lower than that just yet. :(

I am curious to know how long it took before you could completely do the switch or even quit everything completely.

I applaud the ones that could just switch without looking back from day 1 but for myself I haven't been able to go a day yet without having a couple analogues.

Anyone else go through this or still working on it?

Any tips or tricks definitely welcome.

It took me about a week. I was doing both and then I got a juice that tasted like du maurier. After a night of insomnia, I smoke a whole pack of analogs and I was considering to go buy another but then decided that as long I was doing this I would never stop. Instead I went E shopping and I haven't touched an analog again. At first, it was hard but I just vaped more. I started at 24mg and after 2 months I am at 8-12 mg! I also make sure I have a healthy supply of ejuice available so I don't runout.

25 a day to 1 when at 12mg stepped up to 18mg then none. Well apart from 1 just out of curiously earlier this week.

So about 6 days to answer your question.

I was lucky in that the 18mg I bought was also the best tasting juice I had tasted at the time. Still love it. You know it wasn't a conscious decision to stop just a case of preferring the taste of Bounty Hunter to cigarettes.

I had a hard time adjusting to vaping at first because I wasn't getting the same satisfaction than when I smoked a cigarette. The best thing I probably did for myself was not have any around and just stick with vaping for at least a week. Recently, one of my batteries died (less than a month old) and the other one had needed charging, so I went out and picked up a pack of analogs. I found that I no longer enjoyed cigarettes at all. I was sort of sad because, as a light smoker, I really enjoyed lighting up. However, I couldn't even smoke a full one because it just wasn't the same as vaping and I couldn't stand it. It's okay to "mourn" to loss of cigarette smoking, but also put an emphasis on "celebrating" the gain of vaping and sticking with it.

I found that switching from an atty + cart combo to just a carto made an improvement to my vaping experience. I am of the thought that having the right hardware (and some decent tasting liquids) will help a lot to prevent cravings for a real cigarette (and time!). I am about a month in to vaping now and am waiting for my Silver Bullet to arrive before I can really back up my comments.

As for other suggestions, don't go out and buy another pack of cigarettes. Give yourself some time to go full out vaping. Use your last cigarette at the time that you really enjoy it the most (mine was at bedtime) and make it special. I had mine with an awesome beer. Do your laundry and clean everything that would smell like smoke (clothes, furniture, bedding, car, etc). Smelling clean and being clean will help you stick with it. Get your teeth cleaned. I quit just after I went to the dentist and don't want to dirty my teeth with smoke. Try to convert someone else to a vapor to use as a buddy system. I've seen the recommendation several times to start at a high nicotine content like 24mg or 36mg. Finally, use a reward system and positive self-talk to continue vaping and stay off of the cigs.

I gave away that pack of cigarettes to a friend of mine today.

For me it took just under two months. I went from 30 cigs to none in that span. My trick was to keep reducing my cig intake while increasing my PV use. Also 24mg nic helped (started with 12).

If your down to 4 cigs a day your on the right track. My last little bit was only having 1 in the morning, 1 mid day, 1 before bed. After a couple days I cut out the mid day one, couple days after that it was the morning one. Last day was 1 before bed and then never again.

Best of luck!

It's been about 5 weeks for me and I still have a smoke now and then, but now I find I don't really like them. I prefer vaping, as it taste so much better.

Getting this far was not easy for me. The habit of smoking is a huge part of it, not just the nic. When I first started vaping honestly didn't like it, but was determined to quit smoking, so I kept at it. Now I much prefer vaping.

I like the eGo-C as it's a nice size and works well. I also find that, cleaning the tanks, dry burning and cleaning attys etc become part of a new habit which soon replaces the smoking habit. Even just changing the tank to a different one with different juice is part of this new habit.

I started at 18 nic which honestly was not high enough for me and I went through some withdrawal, but I didn't want to go higher, in fact my next order is going to be 12.

Also, you must find at least one juice that you really like. Ideally, 3 or more juices that you enjoy makes a huge difference. Part of my problems at first with vaping was I didn't like the stuff that I had. Another important point is vaping at least on an eGo-C is not the same as smoking. You draw lighter and longer. It's all part of getting into a new habit and if you keep at it, it will come.

Guess I'm thicker headed than most. I smoked tobbaco for more than 52 years. Bet I screwed around for 6 months doing both before I finally decided to shed the tobacco. Been more than 6 months now, since I had a smoke. In fact, now I'm nicotine free, for at least 5 months. JMHO

Cheers,

It took me a long time really. I got my first ecig kit last year in .. May or June I think, I didn't have good juice and it was a terrible e-cig. I was able to cut down from 20 to about 5 a day with it, but I really wasn't impressed. I did that for a few months and then the batteries started dying, they'd last about 2 hours, then 1.5hrs etc. I got fed up with them, but bought 2 new ones and some new (even worse as it turns out lol) juice.

This year I was bored and did a bit of research and found ecf, bought 2 ego passthroughs and some good juice. Within 2 weeks I was 100% smoke free (I did lapse at one point because I totally didn't realise how much more juice I would need when just vaping and a shipment was delayed by a week :( so I re-set my counter)

It was amazing the difference that decent hardware and juice makes.

1 was a PAD (25 in a pack) smoker for about 18years.

So you are doing great and probably just need to find the correct nic strength, juice flavour or perhaps hardware that works for you.

I need to cut out the few analogs I smoke each day. After 2 years of vaping, I still have a couple with coffee in the morning and one after a meal. There's the one I smoke before bed at night. I can go for hours and never even think about analog, though.

My wife still smokes and there's a carton on the top of the fridge. That's the weakness. She is seriously talking about switching to vaping but hasn't done it yet. Once they are out of the house, I have no qualms about losing the last few. On the up side, I went from 40 to 50 a day down to 6 or 7 within a week and have stayed there. Vaping will allow me to forget about cigs once they are gone and not available.

Losing 86% of the tar from the analogs I DON'T smoke has been a good thing for me. Losing the rest is a matter of getting them out of the house.

It took me almost 8 weeks. I immediately cut my analogs in half, & then down to 1/2 pack within 2 weeks. For about a month I smoked about 6 cigs a day. A lot of that was fear. Quitting a 30+ year love hate relationship was tricky for me.

In mid January I ordered a better kit & a bunch of sample juices, that's all it took for me to give up the analogs once & for all.

I had to use a higher nic juice in the mornings & after meals to get the ahh feeling of nic satisfaction. I also needed some strong flavored juice in the beginning, I think I needed a lingering flavor in my mouth, like a cigarette left.

Don't beat yourself up if you're doing both, you have to start somewhere & we all quit or cut down in our own way.

I had no intentions of quitting when I got a e-cig. I hated going outside in the winter to have a smoke freezing my buns off. I wanted an e-cig to passify me at night when I was home to get me through to the next day. After a few days I couldn't stand the taste of an analog and decided to stick with the ecig. Havent wanted a analog since.
