Nope its not going so good..

The Vanzilla full custom box that Dan had he put the directions in his laser machine at the shop and cut one piece perfect. The only thing was the laser cut all the way through the box even on the other side. So he came over and I gave him another box and he took it. He said he was in a hurry at work and started to cut the piece for the screen to come through and the box slid and cut the square a little off center. So I have to buy another box and have him do it again.

The vanzilla box got cut in half? O no that's awful! Van is proli gonna cry.....sorry van :(

... a moment of silence, please.

... The only one that did turn out really freaking cool was the Woodie Max V2. When I got I tried adding a chrome switch in it and I am not for sure what I think about it. Its larger than the switch I use on the original Woodie. Would you guys like to see it and give me your honest opinion on it? Tell me if its too big or if I should just put the small black switch in it.

The Woodie VV V2 is being worked on right now by Vick (wood smith) and I am very excited to see that one. It sounds like one box that will be perfect. ...

I really like this .. dig the switch (nothing against the black switch but the metal one just seem to add a touch of class - makes it look real 'high end').

Dig the wood. Dig the shape.

Another Winner !!

For what it's worth, the metal switch is nice, but the silver contrasts the wood too much. A brass switch, however, would look very, very nice. Clear, colored glass buttons (picture a marble cut in half) in darker colors (amber, red, dark blue) would also work well with the wood grain, and are fairly cheap to get at arts & crafts stores.

Any of those suggestions, I would vote for

I always worry about the chrome and similar finishes rubbing off, since the switch is the most used part of the mod that gets friction movement.

Nice suggestion.

Hi lovie doves! I've been super busy with this and that, and more of that. ;)

I know, I know, I can't believe it happened either! It was one of those slow motion disasters u can't stop! And to top it off it was on the dag on kitchen tile floor!! :(

When I yelped, my 5 yr old kept saying. "what's wrong mommy?......mommy, what's wrong?" through my clenched teeth all I could mutter was "please go sit down, I am ok" lol.

Then when I figured out it was ok, I told her mommy almost broke one of her favorite toys. Then she clutched her blanket and said, "u can't have my blankey then mommy, I dont want it to get broken!" :glare: I told her not to worry, I would never break her blanket. Kids....

That's hysterical, Lethalp! :D

FANTASTIC idea! I love it. Colored glass buttons, or the brass would be awesome and apart from other wood mods!

Todd, that box is gorgeous. I'm sorry to hear about the toobies tho. Bummer.

Van, would you like a kleenex? It'll be so cool when that box of yours is finished. It's going to be AWE-andthen-SOME!

Hugs~

I absolutely love chrome, it's just too "bright," for lack of a better term, to go with a wood grain. Ends up looking a bit garish (yeah, I used the word garish, and I'm hetero. --Surprised me, too). The darker tint of brass, or the darker colored glass, however, compliments the wood. (Withholding obligatory joke, for once.)

I have never been a fan of chrome anything, but given the choice of chrome or black, I have to go chrome.

When it comes to woodies, rubber should never be in the way.

<yep, I said it>

Yep...no rubbers on the woodies please. Shew..I said it also.

As for looks, brass would look great. Chrome if I didn't have a choice other than black. Black is a no-go on wood...makes it look...well...hmmm...cheap.

I really like the looks of the box mod. I love that the edges are more rounded...bet it feels great in the hand.

The picture of the one I posted is bigger than the original Woodie. That Woodie is intended to be the Max Woodie. It has more room to fit more stuff in it. There is going to be three versions of Woodies the Max Woodie which is the biggest and baddest so we can call it a large Woodie . Then there will be a smaller Woodie that will probably just be a VV version. Then there will be a Wet Woodie which will probably be a 3.7 bottom feeder version. I am rushing right now to figure where every thing will go in each one. I am also wanting to do in the Max Woodie a twin 18650 VV version.
