So I got my grant yesterday. Been vaping with it short of 24 hours. I really like the consistency.

1.Few questions! First, after speaking with Rob from vapor kings, I figured to get my Grant working with 14,500 3.7 V Tenergy batts, I had to really pull out the spring and thread it to the tip of the stem.. should I just find a longer firmer spring from lowes to use?

2. Will two CR2's be larger than One 14,500 battery.. or smaller? ( I plan to use this with two cr2's once they arrive )

3. 901 Atty - This I am still on the fence about. I had a horrible time with consistency from 510 attys.. but when I got a few good ones, the flavors were bold, nutty ( depending on flavor ).. and very smooth with lots of taste.

So far I find the 901 atty to be cool.. less taste, and the draw is VERY light, doesn't feel like I an resistance. Any suggestions on this? I noticed a hole on the atty, if I kind of cover it.. I get increase the draw strength a bit.. how about the flavor? Do these need a few days to break in?

Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi
don't own a Grant own a slim and will purchase larger gg anyway your question on batteries cr2's are are slightly longer and fatter than 14,500's might pay you to buy some magnets for batteries due to very poor quality control from china batteries believe it or not even the same type can vary in size as i found with 1044's some are short some are to fat and will not fit without sanding

2x cr2's are longer than 1x 14,500

As sadtranz said, it's definitely worth getting yourself some battery spacers so that you don't have to much about with stretching the spring in your Grant to use different battery combinations.

As to the hole on the 901, this is there to provide good airflow and I think it aids in good juice flavour too. The general consensus seems to be that juice does taste a lot better in a 901 than a 510 but as with all this, it's a pretty subjective thing and if you prefer 510s, then you can use them on the Grant with a 901-510 adapter.

I wouldn't stretch out that spring too much because when you put those CR2s in there it will be tight. The CR2 fits the Grant perfectly. I find that the 14500 is loose but does fit and work fine.

The 901 atty is a much better flavor producer than the 510 in my opinion. You will find that they all differ by brand on the draw. Don't judge the 901 you have with all the rest out there. That hole you see should always be pointed up for better vapor. Try it with the hole down and then turn it up and notice the increase in vapor. This is a secret that nobody will tell you except me... hahah.... I found this out when testing the AFS.

Hope you like the Grant... my buddy at work (Which got his a day or two ago) just LOVES his also! Remember to always lock the button when you are not using it. If you happen to lay it down or stick it in your pocket without locking the button you will be in trouble. I melted my spring in the button today actually. Easy to fix though. Just take the button apart and stretch it back out. That is the nice thing about the GG easily fixed with simple tools. No soldering iron required....

Thanks for the suggestions.

You know, the one thing I noticed about the 901 that I have is that the vapor is VERY cool at 3.7V. And today, I tried for the first time.. a Cartomizer.. and I have to say is WOW. The vapor production was good, but the vapor TEMPERATURE.. was aweseome.

Please tell me that there are cartomizers that work at 6V? I went ahead a tried it with 6V ( hell they are so cheap, I didn't care if I burned it out ) and I have been amazed with how incredible the cart works with 6V??? Please tell me... that this is doable and usable solution! LOL

You know, I think I just noticed that. I was hitting a cart pretty hard here a minute ago.. and then tasted a slight burned taste.. so I would agree with what you are saying.. I must have ran it hot too long.

I am going to play with this a bit. I am curious.. if I refill my on Cartomizer either with the ones that come pre-filled, or with ones that are blank ( I assume I can do that ).. I would assume a lot less mess and hassle? Or is that only with one's that are pre-filled? Because I am just in an entirely new world right now.. getting great flavor, good temperature ( 3.7V as well ) with these carts.., and no liquid in my mouth. I mean, I would direct drip 3 drops on my 510 attys, and had to be SOOO careful on inhale not to get a ton of liquid in my mouth.. not even counting the leaking, the blowing out atomizers.. and carrying bottles of juice with me. . I think this could be a very great setup. Might even make me want to get a GG Slim for a ultra compact solution! Nice!

I ordered some from Rob over at VaporKings.. really liked the Chocolate, but I am open to suggestions of other flavors I should try. Really.. this blows my 510 setup out of the water ( and honestly.. I like it better taste wise and temperature wise than the 901.. but that could just be my initial atomizer ).

True, you should give the 901 plenty of chances. They are my favorite with the cartomizer a close second and then the 510. The cartomizer can be dripped on through the battery hole. I go with about four drops through there when they get that taste to them. Then I pop off the white cap and fill them up until the filler material just looks moist. The blank ones are the best IMHO because you can start with a fresh slate. They have no primer fluid in them to mask the flavor of your juice. When you get those prefilled ones you have the problem of mixing juice flavors. I could never change flavors well.

Glad you are liking the Grant. It really is my favorite secondary device at the moment. Right behind the TS... The cartomizer holes on the atty connection help with the draw. That is probably why you are seeing a light draw on the 901. Try tightening the atty down more to stiffen it up a bit.

Vapn, Lisa, sadtranz, thanks for replying to this thread. Everyone here really has been a great help.

Vapn, I don't know if it's me... my imagination, or reality, but I feel that the Cartomizer thus far is producing *close* to the same amount of vape.. if not the same.. as the 901.. but I am getting warmer Vape with the Cartomzier.. wich really makes me feel like i am hitting a smoke, I like it. Do you notice the additional heat from the carts over the 901 atty?

If you don't mind sharing.. where do you buy, or prefer to buy your 901 attys? Mine are Genuine Sailebao (SLB), i don't know if those are preferred or if something else might be worth a try.
