I have heard that about rayon. I don't have any experience with it, though. I CAN build my own coils but I am....lazy. :D One of my resolutions for this year is to start rebuilding some of my prebuilt heads so rayon is on my list of things to get. :)

LOL! That's one of the reasons I'm so excited about this kit... lately I've been running non-stop between work, home, and doctors. My wife has been quite ill for the past couple of years and is now back on chemo... having something that works this well and requires so little maintenance is a god-send to me.

If you have any questions about rayon, just ask. I've been using it for a little over a year or so and it can be a little tricky at first. There's also another thread here that JeremyR started where everyone is super helpful, so I'm sure we can get you all set up. :)

It does look like it gets solid reviews from around the web but i never buy mods that don't have proven chip sets and have shown themselves to have rugged durability .

When those proven mods are around the same price point i always go with the tried and true. I do like the design of the mod (don't care about the tank it comes with though) as it makes you think what this mod would cost without the tank , probably very cheap .

Will be interested in how this mod is still performing after a year of drops and constant everyday use , that will tell the real story .

Agreed. Though I was thinking part stormtrooper, part super soaker. The orange accents make it seem like a kids toy so they can pretend to "vape" like dad.
Kinkiest wet t-shirt contest ever sponsored by Hasbro.

I am so very sorry to hear that your wife is ill. :( My dad was just diagnosed with metastasis of his renal cell carcinoma from 6 years ago, so I understand a little of what you are going through right now. I will be praying for you guys.

Thank you for the tip on the thread and for the offer of help! I will definitely be asking questions and looking for tips once I jump in to all of that again. I still have a bunch of organic cotton, but the more I read about rayon the more I want to try it, so I am sure it will happen at some point. :)

I have had mine for about a month or so and I have dropped it twice (I know, right? I'm a klutz!!) and all that happened was that I knocked the tank wonky and had to tap it back into alignment. The mod suffered no damage whatsoever. If you are looking for durability statistics I am sure I will be able to help you out there. I will report back after every connection with the floor and let you know how it's going. :D

Well so far so good , two instances with the floor and no fatalities . I have seen some mods in the obituary's after just one header down a flight of stairs .

Recently I was fortunate enough to receive a wonderful new mod/tank kit that is very new to the vaping market. I won it as part of a contest that the vendor Heaven Gifts was running, and I have to thank Evan - @Vera for the SUPER fast shipping and response! I’ll tell you this: Heaven Gifts does not waste time with shipping. The device was shipped via DHL from China on December 29th and I received it in Houston, TX on December 31st!

View attachment 520361

Anyway, here’s a review of the product so far:

What:
Vaporesso 75W VTC Mod/Tank Kit

In the box:
Vaporesso 75W VTC Mod

Vaporesso cCell Tank

0.9 ohm Kanthal cCell (installed)

0.2 ohm Nickel cCell

USB Charging Cable

What you need to start vaping:
A freshly charged 18650 Battery (I recommend Sony VTC5s for this one)

A delicious and tasty juice of your choice.

Okay, so I received the package and ripped it open immediately to find the mod box itself was very well protected with several layers of bubble wrap. No risk of damaged good here! So I broke out my trusty pocket knife and freed my shiny new toy from its plastic and cardboard imprisonment.

After unscrewing the Kanthal coil head and giving the atomizer body and internals a thorough washing with soapy water, I reinstalled the Kanthal coil head and filled the tank with juice. I DIY my own blend of 70VG/30PG 7.5mg/ml nicotine that I call Peaches-N-Cream. As a side note, I have been using rayon (cellucotton) wicks for over a year now, to me that gives me the best flavor that I thought possible (yes, even better than Japanese organic cotton pads). Well, folks… I have to admit that I was not overly impressed by the ceramic coils in the beginning. I was a bit disappointed and was secretly missing my rayon… but I wanted to believe in the ceramic. I wanted to give it a fair chance. At about half-way through the first tank, it hit me. A proverbial ‘Mack Truck’ of flavor came barreling down the freeway as if it had lost its brakes and plowed right into me! I was stunned. I tasted flavors that I’d never noticed in my juice before. It was juicy, it was mouth-watering, and I finished off that tank with record speed. In fact, I went through four tanks and two batteries inside of an eight hour time period! Bottom line… the cCells need a bit of an initial break-in period, but after that they are AMAZING!

I suppose that I should touch on the mod, itself, here. All things being subjective, I like it. A lot! It gives me a nostalgic feeling of a video game joystick from my childhood. A little larger than the Atari, of course, but very comfortable and it feels great in the hand. Very natural and ergonomic… The body of the mod is all metal, the battery door is held in place by two very strong rare earth magnets (pull from the bottom to remove because there is a tab that holds it at the top). The back of the battery door (the black section) has what feels like a rubberized coating. It has a ‘leather-like’ look to it, but it allows for a non-slip grip that I appreciate. The rest of the paint is flawless, though if I were to make a suggestion to Vaporesso here, it would be to put a nice clear coat over the color. My mod is white, and easily gets dirty if you have any dirt or grime on your hands when you pick it up. A nice clear coat would make for a cleaner looking mod. The controls are very simple to use, in fact, the display can be switched with three rapid clicks of the fire button to make it easier to read for left hand or right hand use. The mod easily finds its proper orientation in your hand. The fire button is solid with a very satisfying tactile click when squeezed. I know that there is some argument that the mod is not truly capable of 75W with only one 18650 battery… I will not address that here. I will say that I am running the Kanthal coil at 40W and that is perfect for me. With the airflow between ½ and 2/3 open I get a moderately warm and very flavorful vape.

I cannot say with any certainty how long the coils will last, but I am very happy with them right now. Vaporesso claims “self-cleaning”, but what they really meant by that is – if you get a dry hit, or if you overpower the coil and get a burnt hit, if you re-wet the head and/or turn down the power, you will not continue to taste a burnt wick. Very unlike cotton, with which if you burn it… it is trash. Another thing that I can say is that with my 70VG/30PG ratio, the coil wicks and keeps up well. This morning it was 35°F outside and it continued to wick and vape well. If you’ve been through a season or two of vaping, you know that is a pretty big deal… low outside temperatures and high VG liquids typically make for an under-wicking tank and some nasty dry hits.

Just to sum up, this mod is a performer, it is comfortable, it is unique, and I am impressed!

Anyway, that’s my first attempt at a true review of a product. I hope you guys enjoy my viewpoints on this mod, and I appreciate any criticism. I did find this review to be pretty simple to write because I do truly love this little mod and this review basically wrote itself!

Happy Vaping!
Kaz

I know where you're coming from. I have a hard time dropping coin on a mod that I know very little about as well. The only times I've made exception is when I've gotten strong recommendations from friends here at ECF. Like my Invader Mini... talk about rugged and durable! Then another friend recommended the Silver Play V2... I put that on the Mini with the included stainless steel tank insert instead of the glass... I've dropped that thing more times than I can count and it still fires up every single time.

I didn't want to, buuuuut, I like it! Does this tank have an RTA option?

It doesn't come with one, but there is discussion on whether or not it will work with the RBA section that was designed for the SubTank Mini RBA Head and the Eleaf Melo 2 ECR RBA heads. I believe that it will work with either of those. But then, you're not going to get the same crisp flavor as you'll get from the sintered ceramic cCell coils.

The only fair thing to do is pass it around so we can all try it. You sound busy so I'll help you out and start a list for you. :D

LOL! Sorry man, but you're gonna have to drive over from AZ and pry this thing out of my cold, dead hand!

Awwww... thanks hun! I am sorry to hear of your dad's recurrence. That's kinda what we're dealing with now except she was only clear for about 6 months... her original diagnosis was for adenocarcinoma of the colon. It metastasized and went to the lungs, all tumors were surgically removed after 6 weeks of radiation and the surgeries were followed by 6 months of chemo. As I said, she was clear for almost 6 months after that, then the scans showed rapid growth in the right lung with 5 tumors in the lung and one in the chest wall. They have put her back on chemo, but changed to a different chemo drug this time. It is definitely a tough fight, and I will keep your family in my prayers as well... {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}

No worries about the rayon. I'm here if you have any questions, and I know where to send ya if I don't know the answers! LOL
Check out this thread in the meantime if you're interested: Rayon Pt. 2

Mine should be here Thursday, I hope I love it as much as I think I will!

You absolutely will, Red, I promise! I had the same mindset when I was waiting for mine... actually all the way up to the halfway point of that first tank... since then, I've been loving it!

Cody got me hooked on rayon ...so much better!

I know, right?!? Once you learn how to wick it properly, cotton just can't compare. It holds up to high wattage vaping very well, too. Clean flavor changes, and it'll pull every last drop of juice out of your tank or drip well. I usually have it go back to being dry and completely white in my drippers without burning at all... never could get cotton to do that.

im hoping to win a mod lol got the tank and i am impressed how quiet it is compared to other tanks. doesnt sound like a furnace lighting up

Noise-wise, I think it's about the same as my Silver Play V2. All you really hear is the air being sucked in as you vape it with maybe a little hissing as the juice gets vaporized... you're right, the tank is quite nice. But even if you don't win a mod, I'd look around and buy one. The weight and shape of it is very well suited to the task at hand, and I'm now starting day 3 of solid use, not running any other mod/atty at the moment as I want to put this one through its paces... so far, no complaints!

I tend to agree, and after mulling it over for awhile, that may not be a good thing. Although it galls me to say it, I think at this time it would be best to give the easily frightened and gullible general public our best "adult" foot forward. Man, I can just see the Anti's pointing this out and saying - See, they are trying to attract children. Could give a bad impression that we don't need at this time. Same goes for that mod that looked like brass knuckles, not likely something an adult would buy...

To me, the only one that looks 'toy-like' is the white one. It seems to be a little more refined looking in the other colors. They offer it in white, black, stainless steel, purple, and rose gold (kinda metallic pink). Also, the one that I received is a pre-production 'sample' model. I believe they changed the button colors a bit in the actual production model. The old design is on top, the new release design is on the bottom.

I'm glad you like your new device. Once, at a time when I started with an online shop, I dropshipped for Heaven Gifts and they were pretty cool, Vera was my contact, really nice person to deal with. Anyway, just reminiscing, don't mind me. :)

Reminisce all you want here, Jorge... this has been my first contact with Heaven Gifts and I'm very pleased with them. You're absolutely correct, Vera (Evan) has been very nice to deal with and I hear the same from others as well. They will definitely go into my pool of vendors to go with in the future!
