Hey guys,

I am new here and I have a problem. Hope you can help me...

I have an Aspire Odyssey, using it with a nautilus 1,8 BVC coil. I have been using my e-cig for quite some time and since a few weeks, I have a problem.

In regular mode, I can vape, but the liquid seems to not be properly vaporised, it "burns" slightly in my throat (not to be confused with a burnt taste - it is not burned). Also, it works slightly better with higher watt - if I have 25 instead of the recommended 13 to 16 watt - it doesn't really matter, the same problem.

In bypass mode, it produces not enough vape AT ALL.

The liquid is 50/50 and a rather cheap one - can that be the problem?

The battery is charged and I used a new coil with a few drops of liquid.

I hope anyone can help me. I don't know what to do. I can't use a new liquid right now but I'll try it one I am back from my travel.

Thanks for your help,

Yodara

The odyssey is a kit that uses the Pegasus for the power device & Triton 2 as the delivery device.

What delivery device are you using? the triton 2 that comes in the kit is not compatible with aspire nautilus replacement heads, the triton mini is but does not come in the odyssey kit.

If you are using a nautilus 1.8Ω head; First make sure you set it to Ka & Reg mode, Ka for kanthal type wire, Reg for regulated power output.
Bypass mode bypasses the power devices power regulation circuitry / sends battery voltage to the delivery device, can't adjust watts.

If you're having to use 25w with a nautilus 1.8Ω head something is very wrong usually that power would almost instantly fry the 1.8 bvc head.

Hey, I use the Triton mini usually with triton mini coils but the nautilus are the same, right? Did not know that about bypass, good to know. I selected Ka and regular mode.

The Triton mini and nautilus heads are all compatible / interchangeable.

If you've zapped that 1.8Ω nautilus head with 25w I'd be willing to bet it is toast, at least scorched if not burned the wicking material surrounding the coil.
Fully prime a new head, drip drops on top of screen & allow time for them to absorb into wicking material. Take care to avoid dripping any into the center hole. May take 5 - 12 drops.
You'll see the wicking material in the wicking holes in the body of the head turn translucent and a slight amount of liquid will seep from them, lube bottom o ring, thread into base tight, fill tank thread together let sit a few minutes.

Most importantly always start off a new fully primed head at a lower power setting ( like 7.5w-9w) & gradually work your way up over the first at least half tank. This helps prevent scorching / burning of the wicking material, helps it 'break in' & allows you to make sure it is wicking properly before turning it up.

Compatible coils don't always mean comparable coils. It could well be that you need a better priming process as suggested above. Is this your first Nautilus coil? If it is, the triton mini coils you were using may have been a completely different resistance/vaping experience. Or, you may need to prime the Nautilus coils slightly differently/for longer. You may have already fried that Nautilus coil by going up to 25 watts, it's not designed to go that high. I'd probably start over using a fresh coil and very slowwwllly working your way up to somewhere within the recommended wattage, but even then, you may have a bit of a different experience. If you aren't enjoying the vape due to too little vapor, it might be worthwhile to go back to the coils that you were using, that satisfied you. If you have a bunch of the BVC coils, I'd suggest maybe trying slightly higher VG mix so that you can get more vapor at lower wattages. I can get quite a fair amount of vapor out of my N2 1.8 coils, but I am sensitive to PG so use 90%VG and 10% distilled water (aside from flavors) since I can't tolerate it. I am a "reluctantly" cloudy (really, I'd be fine putting out a bit less vapor at times) fairly cloudy vaper with those coils and with the higher VG.

Probably don't want to go CRAZY high on the VG as it does add to coil gunking (I don't have much way around it) but another extra 10--20% wouldn't hurt. Best of luck. I get visible fog starting at about 6 watts and usually vape 7--9 watts on those coils. More airflow might help you as well... Best of luck,

Anna

Thanks Ill see what happens when I try that!

So, to add: It works now better since I insanely blew into the device. But it could still be better. See how it is with the new Spicy Vape liquid I ordered from Israel. It is 70/30 VG.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Good idea, off the shelf and DIY mixes can vary wildly when producing vaper. Some mixes promote clouds and flavor to varying degrees. Then again, there are many different remedies to cure your problem. Please post again if problem persists.
