Hello,
My first post.
Been lurking for just alittle while and thought I say hi.

Been a analog smoker for going on 40 years now ( thanks US Army ) and have had enough.
Nephew vapes, so I thought I would give it a go...
Bought a couple of disposable Blu and actually enjoyed them so much that I went out and bought the starter kit today.

So, here we go....
A new adventure awaits

I started vaping three weeks ago and started on the Blu disposables as well. They were not bad and kept me off real smoking. However when I went to the Blu starter kit I found the ecigs were not as vaporful and not as strong. Also the batteries in the starter kit are good for only 90 minutes or so if you're lucky.

I went all out and got the Kanger EVOD kit at a local vape shop and it's like the light of the sun compared to the moon. Only $60 and all the components are serviceable/rebuildable plus the kit comes with true all day batteries. It is about the size of a cigar however.

In any case welcome from another forum newbie.

Hey nampla, good for you! I too smoked for many years then decided
enough was enough! It's a bit hard getting used to at first.. You want to
light up a stick and you look for the darn lighter haha no lighter on this!

Good luck to you and stick to the basics, it gets overwhelming reading about
all the crazy mods, building coils, DIY juice and all that! Best is to start with
an eGo kit and some med nicotine juice and from there you can adjust how
much nicotine you need or if you need to upgrade to variable wattage mods
and stuff. Best of luck :toast:

Welcome to ECF, to both of you. Good job on upgrading Badger. Nampla there are many kits that will help you out if you decide you need better, but don't feel you need to. I spent almost 3 yrs using a plain kr808 and the only thing it didn't do for me was stay charged. Now I have 3 Ego 1100's and I'm good to go for 3 days minimum. So much better than charging all the time. Good luck vaping!:vapor:

Hello! Cool, you're in Thailand....lots of good eats. Love spicy foods.

Anyway, not sure what is available to you there, probably lots. But as said, your new adventure awaits. Great part about getting into refillable devices is not having to vape what is already in the carto. There are literally thousands of eJuices out there to try from. This forum is an awesome place to learn and make your decision on what to buy. I personally love what is called a cartomizer & tank setup. You buy cartomizers (similar to the little cartridges on your blue ecig), but they have a hole in it. If fits through the tank and the tank is filled with liquid. The liquid in the tank keeps feeding the cartomizer continuously. So you can get one large enough to last days. And you can buy all sorts of devices to power that tank and cartomizer. I choose a Provari to do so, but there are hundreds of device that can do it.

Anyway welcome, ask questions, learn, vape and enjoy! I have been doing it for less than a year, but have learned tons for this forum and the extremely friendly, helpful people.

OMG, there was only one reply when I started typing.....see what I mean about great forum!!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. If you decide to move beyond the blus you'll find lots of advice here!

It's funny you thanked the Army for your smoking habit. An old boyfriend of mine started the same way, I think it was in the survival portion of training when he had to live off the land for three days by eating twigs. Someone gave him a cig and he was saved lol

Thank you for your service!

Congratulations man! I actually progressed from ~8years of marlboro to blu disposables, and then to the blu rechargeable kit. You've made an excellent choice - it's a great way to get introduced to the whole concept of interchangeable flavors, battery life / strength.. the whole gamut. I enjoyed my blu quite extensively, and still do... but I've actually finally decided to get 'in the game' and order a real e-cig (eRoll). Blu is really a godsend as an intermediate between jumping into the somewhat-intimidating vape-world, and staying on the outside switching between e-cigs and analogs.

For me, I will always love blu as my comfy, easy introduction into the technicalities of e-cigs. The core components of the 'complex' e-cigs you see today are all there - but, (and here is why blu is so great) with blus, you don't even need to notice them. The complexities are lying right under your fingers, but blu makes it as easy as it was buying cigarettes, only you're screwing in a cartomizer instead of lighting up a smoke.

I ultimately see blu as an intermediary, and while they are a fantastic company, they do collect nicely on vapers' having to buy cartomizers over, and over, and over.... For me, seeing just how many of these little steel/plastic things I go through and end up throwing out, and having to re-purchase over and over again, was the primary motivator in making the jump into an e-cig whose juices I can refill with my own liquid supplies. This is only my story, though; and god knows that the convenience and easiness of using blus is what got me to make the switch and never touch another stinky analog again. They serve one of the most important purposes of e-cigs - getting the information out there (yes, through ads - but it is effective) and making e-cigs far more accessible than they once were by getting their products right up next to cigarettes in convenience stores. They've done it all for profit, but it's really quite a benefit - they sort of work as a 'for-profit' educator / distributor of items that put its users on a much healthier path, perhaps ultimately saves their lives. The underlying world of the technicalities in blu cigs can be completely ignored, or, can serve as a very nice launching point. Lucky society decided to become health-conscious and force big-business to invest in these healthier alternatives. They did a significant amount of work for a majority of smokers-turned vapors who (I speak for myself here) were too intimidated to buy something like an eGo or another kit, start manipulating the parts, exploring juices/blends/flavors etc.

It's the magic of e-cigarettes.. they can be as simple as a box of blu's, or as technical as... well, I can't really speak for that. I'm a nub myself :)

Cheers buddy, thanks for your service in the military and god bless. Happy vaping :)

Welcome nampla to ECF,
and congrats. The cig-a-likes do make a good start, but Badger5th
really said it best, "...got the Kanger EVOD kit at a local vape shop and it's like the light of the sun compared to the moon. Only $60 and all the components are serviceable/rebuildable plus the kit comes with true all day batteries." That will make vaping much more enjoyable.

Welcome Badger5th to the neighborhood.

Wow!
So many replies for just a FNG post.. ( yeaah, it was the Airborne army for 21 years, starting way back in '71.. I remember the PM "green" in w/ my c's.. could smoke 'em in 1 puff, that's if you could put out the fire on the end before it burned up your face from the 36 year old tobacco in 'em..
All the Way! )

'preciate all the love and recommendations.

Let's rock this!
