Hey guys, im new here, my name is Rhys and i live in Melbourne Australia!

So here my story.

I started my vaping Journey about a month and a half ago, just for fun because a friend i know introduced me to it.

So i did what any noobie does, ordered a started kit from a random online store :p anyway it was an EGO-T kit and MAN was it horrible lol, but when i was using it i found i didnt really feel the urge to have a cigarette! (Im about a half a pack daily smoker at that point).

So i read a bit more online and ordered myself a Protank 3 and an Itaste VV Version 3 battery, i found it much much better than the crappy ego-t tank, and the innokin battery is superb for the price, but i found the protank 3 coils to just taste crap after a very short period of vaping.

After reading more and more i decided to pick up an MVP2 and a Mini protank 2, and this is my current setup as of right now, and also im glad to say ive been off analogue cigarettes for 1 month and 1 day. I find my setup quite good, although my only complaint is i dont feel like clearomizers are giving me that full flavour that im looking for, but i do find the vapor production quite sufficient but hey im not gonna turn down more.

So right now im thinking of getting a beefier mod like a DNA20/30 mod with sum sort of beginner friendly RBA. (advise welcome)

anyway... this forum comes up most of the time when i was googling ecig questions and from reading it you seem like a really nice and informed community, which i thought i should try and be a part of.

so hello everybody!:)

In the last month I have went thru similar upgrades in devices. Gas station carto and battery, to ego battery and kanger aero tank, to a k101 mod with igo-w atty. My only regret is the money wasted before buying a mech mod.

I won't suggest any specific mechs or RDAs, but I do suggest you get good batteries and learn about battery safety, ohms law, and how it relates to the coils and overall safety of your device.

When you do get a mech mod take it to a vape shop and have them build your first coil n wick setup so you have a good idea of how your new device should hit.

Greetings, welcome to the forum.

In his review of the VV V3, PBusardo did some voltage tests which led him to conclude that it might be underpowered when it comes to dual coil clearos like the PT3, and maybe that's a limitation you experienced.

In terms of good RBAs to start out on, a Kayfun or KF clone is a pretty good bet. You'll get a very good vape, and learning how to do a build is fairly straightforward. In fact, some of the KF clones (HCigar for example) come with a pre-made coil.

ive been trying to learn about all that stuff but its very flustering at the start, im starting to understand more!

as for taking it to a vape shop, such things dont exist in australia, in fact sale of eliquid with nicotine is banned here too :(

thanks for your advise tho, how is the igo-w?

Hello Rhysskee, and congrats on your switch!

I'd like to suggest before jumping into mechanicals right now that you get some organic cotton balls and start rewicking the coils you have. Then after you've figured out just how little they take and the flavor improves, you might want to learn to make your own coils for your present tanks. There are numerous threads here as well as utube vids to show you how. It's a step that's well worth learning and will enhance the equipment you already have; PLUS you won't have to spend a lot of money! :D Then you will have more confidence and knowhow to tackle the heavy duty stuff.

Edit: Forgot to add that I too have the MVP and use ProTanks and Davides, standard and mini. Learning to rewick and recoil = rebuld has helped the performance of the tanks.
