I'm never really much good at introducing myself on forums, though having moderated a few you'd think I'd be used to it by now!

I've just started using electronic cigarettes, and I have to say that I'm pretty excited about it... I live in the UK and honestly can't understand why these things are not being sold in our supermarkets! In any case, like with all new forums and subjects, I dare say I have a lot to learn both about vaping and the forum. I look forward to getting to know some of you.

Hi Krissie, from the US, Chicago. Welcome!

I think PV's are so new people are still suspicious of them. Hopefully we can educate them over time and get more acceptance.

I've been vaping since March or April, and I could still use some education. Not the type of government propaganda education either. Scientists can come up with varied, valid desired results depending on who's signing their paycheck.

Thanks for the welcome peeps! My first experience with E-cigs was actually back in April, when my locl Texeco/Spar garage was selling Nicolite brand ones... They were OK (ish), but I was less than impressed. In fact, I'm not even sure they're still in business? I find that the disposable ones are really a lot of money for not a lot of product compared to rechargeable ones online. Still, it's good to know that 10 Motives are available in Tesco, and I'll have to check my nearest store - if there's something I can use in 'an emergency' (like a delayed online order) it would be great.

I was actually surprised that the only E-Cig pages on Facebook seem to be for companies promoting them, and so I've created a page myself earlier to try and raise the profile of them in the UK here and perhaps create a little bit of a buzz (though it'll be hard to find at the moment owing to not having many 'likes' yet) ... The best thing to quell suspicions is always memetics - people try what their peers try. I'd like to post the link here, but I also don't want to make myself look like a spammer no sooner than joining the forum! *chuckle*

If there's one thing I believe should be researched at the moment, personally I believe it's a proper analysis of all chemicals to be found in average electronic cigarette vapour. I do find it a bit ludicrous that we still don't actually know, and I sincerely doubt that there's anything too nasty in there, but with MHRA looking to give big pharma a step up and protect the likes of Nioctinelle from competition, it seems an obvious hole in the legal argument for their safety, and one that needs to be filled before it's exploited.
