Just wanted to introduce myself!

I started smoking cigarettes when I was 13, just seemed like the right thing to do since everyone else in my family does and still do. I finally picked up an ecig and haven't even thought about smoking another cigarette in almost 9 days. Now, I just need to get my mother to quit.

Also, I am so glad to find this forum, it has helped me immensely when I first bought some juice that was all VG and couldn't figure out why I didn't like the way it hit as opposed to the 70/30 I had been giving when I got my EVOD. There really is so much information pertaining to all of this, its almost overwhelming.

Anywho, I am thinking about getting an atomizer for my EVOD. Which is the best one to get for a newbie like myself?

Hi jamieekay and welcome to the ECF

for an evod battery I would suggest any of the following clearomizers
Evod (you may already have this as you did not say what you currently had attached to your battery) - bottom coil - get the 1.8 to 2 ohm heads
Mini Protank 2 - glass version of the evod - bottom coil - get the 1.8 to 2 ohm heads
Aspire clearo's - top or bottom coil choices - Clearomizers - Aspire Clearomizers - DiscountVapers.com
iClear 16 dual coil - top coil

hope any of this helps and congrats on switching off the stinkies

Sorry to suggest what you already had (in here the more info you can give the more precise the answers can be)

Here is a mini primer for vaping attachments

Atomizers were the common term for the gen1 3 piece ecigs - flavor cartridge (a mouthpiece that had some blue foam that held about 8-10 drops of eliquid), atomizer (the part that had the coil that heated up and vaporized the eliquid in the mouth piece) and the battery (was a stick style battery like what the BLU's look like)

then came cartomizers - it was the flavor cartridge and atomizer combine into one piece which then attaches to the battery - holds about 1ml of eliquid (about 20-25 drops) these are not rebuildable at all

clearomizers are the next evolution and hold from 1 ml up to 2.4 ml of eliquid which is visible, most current clearos have replaceable heads and are either bottom coil or top coil, and are available in glass (safe with all flavors of eliquid) or plastic

most tanks are just larger clearomizers and hold from 2.5 to 8ml of eliquid and all have replaceable heads

a lot of people still use bridgeless atomizers to drip eliquid into (you can only drip 3-4 drops at a time - inconvenient but better flavor)

advanced devices

these following devices are for advanced users only and require special knowledge and tools

RDA's are a rebuildable dripping atomizer in which you build the coil yourself with resistance wire (kanthal or nichrome) and wick materiel (silica or organic cotton - most common) ie: IGO-L, Octopus

RBA's are similar to RDAs but are the tank version ie: AGA-T, Kayfun

hope this helps some

Dripdaze - Thank you! It was actually a heck of a lot easier than I thought it would be. I smoked for 8 years, so I was surprised at the results.

Dakota Jim - It's all good. I'll remember to be more precise next time. :)

That is a heck of a lot of information, but it definitely helps me understand all of this a little better and daleron, thank you for the link. Maybe, I'll finally suck it up and by a new tank.

Steelrain - Would I have to order a new battery for that or will it work with my current EVOD battery?

Hi and congrats on almost 9 days free from smoking. That is fantastic to hear. You've already been given some good information and suggestions, but I'll add one more option. I've been using Kanger MT3S' since I started vaping 5 months ago and have been pleased with them.

Also, throat hit is a combination of nic level and pg, so when you went to 100% vg, you lost some of what gives you the throat hit. I use 50/50 mixes, but everyone is different and some folks have a bad reaction to pg.

Thanks for you post and I'm glad you've joined both the vaping world and us folks here at ECF.

Keep the vape and namaste.

I didn't know that about the throat hit. Now that I think about it, the other juice was all a lower nic level. Might have something to do with that. I actually think I am having a very small reaction to PG. It's just small dry itchy patches on my stomach, nothing a little moisturizer won't fix.

Thank you! I am glad to have joined to. You guys have already helped me with so much, even before I joined!

Aspire Nautilus is getting some rave reviews but they're 35 bucks if not that I would also recommend the pt 2 mini at 1.8 or 2 ohms.

I'm actually okay with spending a little extra money, if it gets me what I want. I've been having a problem with almost a burnt taste, but I think it's because I was actually trying to vape before the juice hit my coils, so that might have been my own fault. I am going to buy some more coils and see if that fixes the problem. That'll also allow me to do more research, if I have to pay upwards of $100 or more for a nice little system that is perfect, than I'd be okay with that.
