I just spent the last 2 hours writing a post about myself and my story to vaping and when I went to submit it and poof it was gone! So way agravated now /sigh. But ayway. Now heres the way short version.

I was a smoker for 30+ years till Dec 31st 2012 when I found out about vaping. Havent had a cig since then. But I didnt know that starting this adventure would have been so expensive to start. I dont think 500 plus would be a starting price for this adventure in less then 2 months. Now I'd just like to find a tank that doesnt leak and gives me the smooth puff with tons of flavor.

Nice to meet you all :)

part of the expense is finding out what you are after, sometime when chasing a great vaping experience we inevitably get sucked into the hope that a 6 dollar disposable device will be all we need, while it will work out for some people just fine, others, like yourself go on a search for something better and we end up with better made rebuildables. the cost is a little higher per unit, but after that you dont buy anything except upkeep supplies which costs pennies.

if you like to tinker or are mechanically inclined there are several nice rebuildables on the cheaper end of the scale that will give you a vape like nothing a 5 dollar clearomizer can match.

it took me close to 4 months of playing with every clearo, atty, and tank like thingy until i finally broke down and got a nice rebuildable atomizer. it was then that i found what i was after, heart stopping - lung pounding vapor that works every time and costs nothing to maintain. and the one thing that holds true is you end up spending enough on the cheap stuff to buy several of the nice ones lol

now that cloning has gone full scale there are many alternatives to big budget kicka** devices.

look into the drunkard tank, or the terminator - cant remember the name of the Kayfun clone right now ....................

or you can step up, while not cheap, to the topshelf items and have a killer setup that will smother you in vapor.

helps to know what your willing to spend, willing to do and how much tinkering interests you.

I feel the same way although I have spent significantly less than you and am now happy with a Twist/T2 (no leaks) setup. I still smoke a few cigs every day and don't feel guilty since I know I'm on a clear path to fully quitting. I don't foresee myself permanently vaping so as of now I'm content with this "beginner" setup.

Welcome & Congrats! I can't say I spent quite as much...hold on...yeah I'm pretty close. Fortunately not having a stinkie for 9 weeks is totally worth it to me. Don't worry, you won't spend much after you get settled into things & figure out what you like & works best for you. I've stopped counting dollars & cents for now. I've purchased my first vv/vw device...after much contemplating & I think I'm gonna grab one more really good device & I should be set for a while. At least I hope so. I spent about $50 a week on the stinkies...newports...so I can see it costing less to vape in the future. I could definitely see myself turning into a APV hoarder though! Lol!

the initial cost can be surprising. For me and my wife, we spent what we would generally spend on analogs during the first month. Since then we have spent about $50 per month on supplies/attys/flavors. Once you find what works for you, the cost is much lower than smoking.

...unless you are one of the people that love upgrades and cool looking stuff. ;)

Haha i was a newport person myself. I have picked my main juices though 3 to be honest one for each ego c twist. Menthol for when I am jonesing for a cig or after coffe or food. The rest of the time I alternate between peach and frozen lime. Two of my favorite fruits lol. I like my ego because of its profile I rellay dont want some big device. I just want a juice holder that doesn't leave a small dime size pool of juice on my end table when I wake up in the morning. Or is that to much to ask for in this day and age?

Welcome to ECF, and gratz on the switch. You're one of the lucky ones. I spent around $400 a month the first couple months.

As far as your first attempt at posting, there are a few reasons. I found when I first came here that if I didn't check the "remember me" box I got logged out every hour. It was a pain in the @$$. Once clicking the remember me option the issues stopped.

There are so many options on good devices.

If your looking for cheap carto/tanks, VapeDudes has some decent grommet style carto/tanks that work rather well. For me all carto's seem to slightly mute flavor. The VapeDudes tanks I've been using for 3 weeks now and they haven't leaked a bit. There cheapest ones are around $7 each.

I also use Vivi Nova's which give me better flavor but can be a pain to use.
