I was really hoping my Volt would come in the mail today. Could it take any longer?? I'm ready to get rid of these nasty smokes for good! I've been lurking here for a couple weeks now, trying to decide what to buy first. I have to say thanks to everyone for the advice you have given other newbies, because it has helped me tremendously!!

Did you check the tracking number? Every vendor I deal with mails me a tracking number when they send out my package. It might have been held up somewhere for some reason.

I know my mail gets held up 2 day. So if tracking says it will be here tomorrow I can expect it in 3 days. When Sandy came through Jersy and NY it screwed up one of the posts offices my packages goes through. There machines are down and everything is done by hand so there is a delay.

Yeah I checked the tracking, and it is in Atlanta. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. I just didn't stop to get cigs on my way home from work because I had high hopes it would be here. I know it's no big deal to smoke another pack, but I've been teling myself all day that today could quite possibly be my last day smoking, and that felt really good :)

rite aid too...seriously, you're better off cutting urself some slack and buying one more pack - just tell urself it's ur last one. mindset makes a HUGE difference when quitting/switching. if u force urself to never touch an analog again all ul want is "just one more" whereas if u buy a pack and tell urself ul smoke one when/if u need one ul have a better chance of quitting. then again, it sounds like ur ready to quit so it might not be an issue..just sayin in general...its not so bad to buy a pack as long as ul eventually give em up...

I felt the same way. I would try triple and quadruple hitting the disposables....it was just enough to let me know that giving up the stinkies was possible, but not with that. I carried my last two cigarettes with me for a couple of weeks after I got my eGo Twist just incase. Oh, that reminds me, it'll take a while to get use to not having a pack of smokes in your pocket. It took me a couple of months before I lost the feeling that I was forgetting something when I left the house.

I tried the blu already, but it wasn't strong enough for me. Are the njoy's any better?

u wanna quit really badly and feel like once you get whatever ur waiting for your troubles will be over but in reality it takes awhile to get over analogs and even a provari in ur mailbox won't change that...so my last piece of advice here is cut urself some slack and actually i'd buy that last pack even if it DID come today cuz u know what? ur gonna want one and so what...go head and have one....give urself a week to make the switch and ul never go back imo, give urself a deadline and ul have a much harder time and might even fail...

exactly...:toast: getting an e-cig will not kill the craving. and ya it took me at least 3 weeks to get used to not having a lighter in my right pocket. actually anytime i see my zippo even now it makes me want a cigarette :glare:

I'm in Atlanta, I work at 285/75. I could loan you an eGo 650 and a drip atty and some juice ;)

Such a sweet offer! Thanks so much, but I live a little outside of Atlanta... and I think these guys are right. I should buy another pack of smokes just in case. Thanks for all the advice guys!! I've been a smoker for 18 years at a pack a day. My son, who is 13, has really been on my case to stop. I don't think I will have (much) trouble quitting, as I think I have the right mind set, and with him reminding me how much he loves me and wants those few more years added to my life, I don't think the cigs have a chance :)

Just my experience. I was not going to give up the stinkys untill I got my set up running and figured out. Once that happened, I went from38 to 18 to 8 to 5 (for a few days) to 3, etc. i guess I want to say do not stress over a goal. You do not have to be perfect to quit smoking.

Exactly that.

Yeah I checked the tracking, and it is in Atlanta. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. I just didn't stop to get cigs on my way home from work because I had high hopes it would be here. I did like mare seems to be saying. I "Paralleled" for a few weeks...making sure I had all this "e-cig stuff" down pat and it worked. Once it was working, I vaped for a day and then finished off my last pack and just didn't buy anymore. So...there's no wrong way to make the switch. I know you read a lot of posts saying "Haven't smoked one cig/analog since ____ came in the mail". But that's doesn't even have to be considered the norm.

So get it together with the e-cig and make it so that you have a high degree of success. Don't set yourself up for "perfection expectations" as if that was the perfect way to switch.

Congrats on finding e-cigs and welcome to ECF!

P.S. Now that song is going through my head mare....♪♫♪♫ "Mares eat oats, and does (doe-s) eat oats, and little lambs eat ivy...." ♪♫♪♫
