It took me a bit to figure out the best way to cut them, I started using a piece of scrap wood to follow them through the cut on the bandsaw, I've got six or so put away now and I went back to the glass. I have yet to break a Kabuki glass, actually, in three years I've only broken one Protank glass, guess I'm lucky that way.
I, on the other hand, Always buy glass breakage insurance with any new tank I purchase.

(just buy an extra glass tank, and you're guaranteed to never need it)

LOLz

That's true.

I'm careful, but have bad luck with Kabuki glass but far worse luck with Subtank Mini tanks. I just have to look at them and they crack!

I certainly agree that having back up glass is good insurance, I've used that plan for years, but this cage could be wise additional coverage.

I didn't bother as I have 4 SS tanks and 3 poly ones as well as about 15 glass tanks (including the 10 I just bought).

My wife uses similar ones on her Nautilus and Triton tanks though.

Yup. And it arrived with the glass in a thousand pieces. Annoying thing that. The stock Kabuki glass does not fit inside btw. :)

How well are these packaged? I've had some bad luck with getting glass from fasstek, it was packaged very poorly, 5 out of five pieces were craked or chipped badly and when I contacted them they wanted photo's of it, I had already trashed the broken glass so no replacement no refund.

This last order all of the glass arrived unbroken. I ordered 3 sets of the 7 piece, they were packaged very well- one set (the clear) was inserted in styrofoam, the other two were bubble wrapped well. Not a chip or crack this time.

It seems to be hit or miss with the glass orders, luck of the draw so to say...

And it shouldn't have to be luck of the draw if they stop to package them right. Who wants to wait almost 2 weeks to receive a shipment & it arrive damaged. Now you gotta go thru the email process- hell, they probably want a vid of the glass breaking  then you have to wait another 2 weeks for the replacement.

Well stated, and quite true.

I actually don't mind the lottery game with them. The prices are great, and often they're the only game in town. I use the glass colors to identify juices, so they're very valuable to me. But yeah, I've lost some pieces!

- and not just of my mind.

My last "fight" with FT took appx. 2 months from start to completion.

(I may be exaggerating, but it was a LONG time.)

Fun times.

Hmmmm....I don't think I'd want to play that guessing game & here's why. There's a difference in deeming preparedness & shopping in general.

Shopping in general~ For many, glass isn't something on the top of the priority list- more times than not glass purchases come into play cause you just broke one & of course said tank didn't come with a spare so there's more of an immediate need for it.

Deeming preparedness~ Self explanatory. Stocking up for the future.

I just wanna know if glass tank replacements are also considered a tobacco product?

If it were just for aesthetics, I'd probably opt out too. But since I actually do use them with a purpose, I don't mind. And FT always makes good on what breaks (if you don't throw it away before snapping a pic). Exposure is low, and the prices are great, so it works (for me).

I certainly understand someone not wanting to go through it though, especially after having lived through Kat's experiences (aka, "The Adventures of Kat & Ivy").
:nun:

You don't smoke your glass?

I recently recieved a $18 mech mod that was a bit scratched and the door didn't fit great. I sent a pic and they replied quickly saying I could return it OR they would give me a $3 credit. I am in sales, so asked for more and they immediately gave me a few more bucks.

I now have a pretty good mod with a couple of small issues for around $12, so not bad. My time to repackage and go to the post office is worth more than $12, so I am not unhappy with FT support and their response times...

I just tried these out.... $0.50 each and work PERFECTLY.

I ordered them as I am getting sick of breaking/chipping authentic Kabuki tanks (only tank glass I have broke multiples of) and I have spent enough on authentic poly and SS tanks as well.

The FT replacement glasses fit perfectly and is a bit thicker than the $10 authentic blue one I have. Apparently the blue glass is made from gorilla glass or somethig similar. Yup, it's chipped too.

I prefer poly and SS, but for $5, it's worth it to have 10 of these in the drawer....

My wife kept breaking hers and i bought a bunch of replacments. Then i found these at FT and got like 5 or 6 to be safe. You know she has not broken another one. If i stock up on replacment stuff i never need it, if i have nothing she breaks everything. lol Just how she rolls.

I might be a thread starter, and I've often been a thread killer, but I won't be a thread klogger. PM, darlin'.

Suffice it say that Ivy and I became quite good friends.

Welp, I see the extra glass as twofold. It's aesthetics (a reduced form of bling), and it is stocking up for the future. I've seen WAY too many items discontinued (on FT and on other sites) and I sure would want to have that little extra glass around for the 'just in case'. All these purchases, NIC PRIMARILY, are part of my vape insurance.

I hope to never need it, but it's there if I do.
