I wonder if that was because they wanted the price with extension cap to stay the same as the gold which comes with the extension cap in the price.

From what I understand of the ZenKote process, all colors start out as gold.. Which is why seeing the gun metal originally selling at a slightly higher price didn't surprise me..

Certainly not complaining now..


P.S. If you (& anybody else) can, please post of a pic or two of your gun metal, preferably at least 1 pic with the LED lit up.. Thanks!

Yes, they all do. Every one of them. I can see it right in the picture you posted.
Imagine the Provari and the ring being black, but the top cap is bare metal...you'd see a fine line of silver.

Hmm. I've never noticed it before, but as you said I have a satin silver mod that matches the ring. I guess if the colors are vastly different it may be more obvious.

Here's another photo directly from IBTanked. You can see the bronze bottom cap on the tank but not the top cap of the mod itself. At least I can't see it. YMMV.

Does anyone think there will be gunmetal blems right at the start??? My thinking is they probably already have quite a few of these on hand. There are bound to be some blem tubes. Or will they hold on to them for a bit as to not interfere with regular sales. I guess anyone around for previous new releases would have a good idea.

There wasn't any gold zencote blems right away, those only become available recently

In the past they've waited for quite a few blems to add up before posting them. I don't recall if I've ever seen a blem release of just 1 or 2 colors. Recently they've been a little more frequent with a smaller selection, but who knows? I would imagine they still wouldn't put them up for a bit though. Maybe towards the end of the period when they sell out & are waiting on more?

Gold ZenKote came out on March 6..

There must be a thread here the day the gold blems came out...
