How would I clean a atomizer head coil with black gunk on it?

Common methods include soaking in vodka/everclear, high-strength isopropyl(debatable), dry burning, and god knows what I'm forgetting.

Soaking 24 hours in vodka seems to be the best for me. After that a soak in clean water overnight and a good rinse and dry. Works pretty well.
