hi im new on here and im pretty tech savy when it comes to things but this has me stumpped. i have a gus mechanical with a nimbus atty and for the first couple days it was working fine but now its over heating when i press the button and the vape coming from the wick is low and when i leave it running it takes a long time to get it working right but by the time that happens the bottom button is at like boiling temps and have to let it cool down for mins at a time. does anyone have any ideas as to why its happening? i tried everything i could think of.

make sure you have all your connection clean and you are making good contact sound like you are have a arc on the button and the post that you push in causing it to heat up and fast..
I have a Gus telescopic that does the same thing, I already replace the hot spring it came with with a brass screw and it still gets pretty hot. The bottom button battery contact is a dome shape and only makes contact at the very point of it. I started to notice that the very top of the dome started to have corrosion on it, which can only mean that it doesn't conduct very well. I tried my buddies brass button off his Gus 18500 mod and it works like a champ. There are various methods to remedy the problem, which you can find here on ECF. My problem now is trying to obtain one of these brass buttons, which I have contacted gus himself but is charging 30 euros plus shipping which would come out to somewhere about 60 bucks.
i see i think i saw one at a shop i go to but then again it might have been something else. so your saying that bottom button dome is what makes it really hot? i cut the wires on the RBA so it doesnt touch anything and still gets hot
Do you have a multimeter? If so, test out the coil with it, could be a short. If you don't, I'd rebuild the coil. It shouldn't get hot. My Gus's button stays cool, as all my mechs do.

i took it to the shop and they said everythings good they checked the voltage and everything. my cuz said on the nimbus theres something seperating the positive from the ground and if its melted or something then that could cause the device to heat up? if so can that be fixed?
I wish I could be of more help, but without seeing it I can't. All I can offer is that the button should not be getting hot. Something's awry...and yes it can be fixed. Just have to figure out the issue.
Also, make sure you're placing your battery into the gus positive side down. The spring should be on the neg. side of the battery.
Even with that photo, I can't tell what's going on. Maybe someone with more insight will chime in here.
