the center pin looks iffy i think you might have melted the rubber insulator that the positive center pin sits in unscrew and inspect. i wouldn't recommend trying to use it as it might create a short and on a mech mod that's not a good idea hope this helps. as for the battery try a different tank or rda on to see if it works

What is the resistance of the coil?
Most likely you've melted the insulator.
What battery are you using?
Could be a hot leg, screws not tightened, coil too close to or touching deck, post or a lose center pin.

Disassemble the base / deck check for melted insulator.

Appears to be a fake,pseudo, hybrid / direct to battery contact style tube. Those should only be used with a delivery device with a protruding center pin.

Probably melted the insulator, as everybody has said. Sometimes I'll get some flame on the coils when dry burning to clean them after getting gunked up, but I don't think that's what you're talking about. For me, that faux hybrid top plate on the mod is bad news.
