Well my son wants to go into Gymnastics, but it seems to be a girl sport in younger ages(
He is 7 years old). Yet, if that is what he want to do I'm going to let him. It's not that cheap either 54 dollars a month, and only 1 day a week. There is one other boy that will be there, and I bet he is in because his sister is there.....

IDK they say the strongest kids in sports are those that come from Gymnastics. Even if he moves on to football, baseball or anything later on. He wants to do all those professional moves the WWE does. I told him I bet that is were a lot of them learn to do them.

Anyone else have any kids in Gymnastics? My dad told me that he worked with a lady who's daughter got hurt so bad in it they had to amutate her leg.....a little scary to think about. I know the sport is really dangerous.

any sport is dangerous so long as he takes his time and does not push him self to hard. every thing will be fine at his age it is good to get to know his limits and attempt to improve them i only wish my parents where like you supportive yet considered. my story is another subject all together. in closing accidents happen all the time even in the regular world let him have his fun and enjoy his life you never know. he may surprise you and him self.

DaMulta, he will be just fine, if everyone in charge knows what they're doing. This is a great thing for all kids, doesn't matter the gender, but they have to go slow with kids that age. Bones and ligaments and muscles need tender conditioning.
He can apply what he learns to just about anything, to sports, all the martial arts, dance, (yes, who knows how to Fox Trot anymore!) and just plain having the confidence to walk tall and proud, eyes wide open. Can't beat it. Remember when the Packers went to dance classes? Well, maybe not, wow, that was awhile ago. Just do keep an eye out for "sore" things, best of luck!

It should be a great experience and fitness opportunity for him..... Its great he has an interest in doing it too considering the videogame/tv generation he's in. If ya can't get them outside playin... send em to the gym !! :)

As long as there is "proper" supervision (especially on the bars) there shouldn't be any mishaps beyond the odd bruises and scrapes. Hell, I wish I still had a 1/10 of the flexability I did at that age !! lol...
