Here's what I have been doing for tea extraction.

This time I used an herbal tea with flowers and fruit in there. Straight from the store it looked like this:

I ground up the whole bag in a coffee grinder. It ended up being about two cups of powder:

Then I added enough distilled water to cover the tea, about 4 cups:

Bring to a boil on medium heat and let it simmer about 5 minutes:

Once it's well steeped, it's time to filter. Here's the setup:

This part is a real pain in the ..... Start with the strainer, and dump the whole batch through:

Then scoop out the tea into a coffee filter and wring all the water out carefully.

Then I filtered the liquid 3 times through coffee filters:

Here's everything after filtering:

The liquid went back into the pot for a long slow simmer ( about 45 minutes ) :

Near the end, the liquid will start to get thicker as most of the water is boiled off. Got to watch it closely at that point. Reduce the heat and let it go until there is only a little bit of liquid left.

Yield was aboout 30ml of highly concentrated tea extract. It makes pretty good juice at around 15% with some sweetener added.

Cool thank you for sharing. I just tried doing this with coffee today, first time. But I am interested in this kinda stuff.

Just one question. Is it required to use a Barbie plate? :) Sorry, I oddly found that picture amusing, but I'm over-tired and slap happy right now.

FINALLY! IT'S YOU!

I've been looking for you on here because you won free juice in my contest thread, and then they shut it down. I forgot what it was, but pm me your info and I'll send ya out some of what I've been working on.
