I have had the same experience - ten days and my lungs are just starting to hurt. Maybe the placebo effect of inhalation of anything has to do with a ......ed timeframe of lung cleaning. Not sure, but an interesting phenomenon amongst many vapers.

Keep it up and vape ON!!

(not smelling like a s-bag is enough for me right now)

I've run into the same thing. One thing to consider is the 2 main ingredients of e-juice. Pg is commonly used in breathing treatments. These breathing treatments, while administering meds, are also used to get the patient help expel irritants by causing mucus production as to collect irritants to more easily caught them up. May not be the most correct answer, it just some of what I picked up while leaning all about my mothers breathing treatments following her lung transplant (not smoking related).

as for the VG, it naturally absorbs moisture which is why you can get dehydrated. The moisture it absorbs can also add to the added mucus. Although I'm now not coughing near as much as I did with analogs, I've found when I do cough out what remaining crap is in my lungs it tastes like what ever flavor I've been vaping. Sorry, gross I know, but had to share for insight.

Some people don't hawk up lung-oysters when they switch to vaping, though I sure did.

It may have to do with the fact that your ciliae are doing a sufficiently efficient job of moving up all the accumulated crud to your throat where you can swallow it.

Everyone's a little bit different.

I was having the same problem after a couple of weeks of vaping. Every time I took a hit, it was like I couldn't breathe. A friend suggested I step down on my nic level and see if that helped, I was doing 18mg at the time. So, I took the advice and dropped down to a 12. I haven't really had much of a problem since, unless I try to do a harsh flavor or get a really heavy throat hit.

Holy crap that cracked me up!! :)

I got sick right after I started vaping (month ago), and the phlegm cough is hanging on and on and on.... Reading this makes me think maybe the vaping cough is part of it. Hmmmmmm....interesting. Good to know!

I did a fair amount of coughing at first, but after a while that stopped. Now every now and then I get a good cough that moves some mucus out, but no tar like with the veggie matter. Definitely an improvement.

On another note, I had a chest x-ray today and it was CLEAR! I remember having one a while back when I still smoked and it was not so clear. +1 for vaping!

Good Info! I do find the VG (thinner juice) dries my throat.
As for the flavored phlegm, I'm experiencing the same thing...but it could be worse!

mostlyclassic said it well but i will add that when any toxin(s)is removed completely from the lung/body,the body will quickly begin removing said toxin. Since we vapors are still putting a toxin/foreign substance(albeit low level)in the lung,it just slows down the process. The lung will still remove the cigarette toxins but @ maybe a slower, different way such as was stated by Mostlyclassics. Hope I made that clear? Put another way,if you completely stop putting 'anything' in the lung, the lung will expel copious amounts of crap quickly/noticeably. But by putting another substance in the lung, that will alter the way the lung will clear itself. Having hard time putting this thought in print. But what you describe is normal.:toast:

Lung oysters. Best thing I've heard all day. Laughing out loud.

When I first started vaping I experienced a few common symptoms, sore throat, dry mouth, vapers tongue, sinus cleaning by running down my throat. The sinus issue had me coughing mostly but after about 4 weeks all that cleared up. Breathing is so much better now and so is the smell sensor. Wife and kids are sick of me saying WHAT's that smell... :)
